Shout out to manager Brad at the Carmel 116th St location. Last week I placed a large order and one sandwich was missing. We were in a hurry and couldn't wait. We were told to come back any time, ask for Brad and he would make it right. We came back a week later for the sandwich, asked for Brad, he remembered the error and apologized. And not only that, but he comped the smoothies we order as well. I fully intended to pay for the smoothies and he told me it was on the house because of the error before. This is a classic example of how you conduct business properly and it's also how you get return customers for life. Kudos to you and your team! You'll see a lot more business from us! read more

I had no idea a new smoothie place moved in so close to my house! It's in the Market District shopping complex, but up by JJ's. Advertising makes it seem like it's in the grocery store and it's not. We went on Grand Opening Day when they had $1.99 smoothies all day. We are also crazy and went at 5am and were one of the first 40 and won 52 free smooties! I have tried 3 so far and they are so good! I will be there a lot! I would have been anyway, but my free one each week even more so! You want to get the app. You earn points and it's easy to pay quickly. The app also has the menu. It has the calorie count, but I haven't really seen more nutritional info. I love the Super Food Smooties. Orange Glow Ginger with extra ginger was AMAZING! Chia banana MAX was fabulous, but like 800 calories. Detox Island Green is the 3rd one I have had so far. I watch them make and love all the fresh fruit they put in. I do wish they had better info as to what goes in each one. I usually go to Smoothie King and had no idea some of there's had ice cream?!? I need to ask questions as I go and learn more about each one. So far I do love it at Tropical Smootie Cafe! They even have food. It's much more convenient to me before getting on 465 and they open early! I always forget to say make it skinny anywhere I go. This is a easy way to cut the calories. You can buy a re-useable mug for $4.99 and get a discount on future drinks. We plan to get one next time to save on waste. read more

I have driven by this place many times and decided that I would try it for lunch. After spending over $60 for lunch for a family of four, I must say I was very disappointed in the flavor and portion sizes for this location. First and foremost the smoothies are what they are known for and they were very flavorless with very little taste. Mine was supposed to come with a lime straw and after I ordered it and it was delivered to me I was told that they no longer have lime flavored straws! This was a big disappointment for me since There was no other flavor with the smoothie. I then ordered a few sandwiches in to my dismay they were extremely small for the price they charged me. The corn on the side was the only plus to the menu. I will never probably go here again because I waited 35 minutes to get my meal when others would come in with just one order and got it right away. I did not feel like a valued customer especially knowing that they had seven people working the counter at a snails pace. A big disappointment! read more

I've given this location so so so many chances. I understand it's a busy location. I am a patient person and I wait every time. I've never been here where I did not have to remind someone to make my drink. Today, just like the past when I see a customer who came in much later than me get his order I went and asked about mine. The employee looked at some of the drinks on the counter and moved on to make another drink (no help). I waited and asked another employee who looked at the drinks again and gave me my drink. What is the point of asking for my name if you just put it down on the counter? I'm done. There were two customers when I walked in, not busy time. My time is precious, so I'm done. I honestly think this location has management issues. No order or consistency. The employees always seem busy, I'm sure doing their best in a mismanaged location. Also my smoothie sat on the counter for 30 min according to the time stamp. So it's just juice now. I'm too annoyed to go back in there. If you have all the time to wait, this is the place for you. read more

So I went to the grand opening where they had a giveaway to the first 40 people; a coupon card for free smoothies for a year (I made the cut, so thank you Tropical Smoothie cafe!). To top an already awesome day they had all smoothies for $1.99. So it was a great way to try out their smoothies. The store was well organized for the morning crowd and all the staff seem really friendly and on top of it. The smoothies are all one size and pretty large at that; which is great for the normal price. Made with all fresh ingredients, they're pretty awesome. And the smoothie is pretty thick, which I love! I orders the detox Island green and it's amazing! They also have sandwiches and salads if you're in the mood for something more hardy. The only thing I noticed for drinks with sandwiches I think it's only bottles water or canned drinks, no soft drinks. But...Pretty much they have something for everyone! And a nice seating area too, where you enjoy your food with friends. Can't wAit to go back ! read more

I've been a big fan of this franchise for years and was so happy when I heard Carmel was getting one. The staff are friendly and they are quick at making your smoothie and have easy ways to order in advance (app or online). A big bummer is if you order in advance in the morning, before the store opens, they automatically set an ETA of 30 minutes after opening. Also no drive thru which would be convenient in the mornings. Overall every smoothies I've tried has been delicious, highly recommend the blueberry bliss and the açaí berry boost! We wanted something different so we decided to give Tropical Smoothie Cafe a try. My husband ordered a Pomegranate Plunge smoothie with a Caribbean Jerk Chicken Bowl. I ordered a Mango Turmeric smoothie. My husband said his salad was good but the BBQ sauce didn't seem to fit with the salad and his smoothie was outstanding. I tasted his and it was -- this is surprising because I detest bananas and there was definitely banana in his drink! My smoothie was very good as well but next time I will order something different (I just prefer a somewhat sweeter beverage). The service and atmosphere were top notch. Everyone was so nice and our orders were delivered quickly with a smile. We will return to this new addition in the Bridges very soon. read more

Very nice place with diverse smoothie menu, as well as several wraps, sandwiches and bowls. There is one size smoothie, 24 Ounce, and the prices are very reasonable ($4.99 - $5.69) They also offer a refillable mug that gets you a 50 cent discount the next time you are in. I ordered the all American wrap for breakfast (Ham, Bacon, Egg and Cheese) and a detox island green smoothie. Both were excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. read more

For several weeks, I was probably getting this once or twice a week. Their peanut butter banana smoothie is AWESOME. Their food menu is just the perfect size, offering just enough variety but not overwhelming. Have had a few wraps and quesadilla and it hits the spot. It's normally been pretty busy when I've gone, but they seem to run a pretty efficient operation. Once I realized I could order through GrubHub, it was a game changer. If you're thinking about eating here or applying here, please save your breath. This place does not care for either employees or customers. The products that they use are expired and there is no clear system for employees to check and make sure the item is fresh before throwing it in your food. If you want a smoothie, just go to smoothie king. For people that are contemplating applying here, save it. Go apply somewhere else. Years ago I used to visit a Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Dayton, I always had wished there was one close to me. WELL NOW THERE IS, AND IT'S AMAZING. The smoothies are great, the food is also awesome, and fairly priced. If you get any food, try the kale apple slaw - it's a delicious side. My go-to smoothies have always been the Mocha Madness and Peanut Butter Cup. They are both amazingly delicious. Recently, I've been craving the Detox Island Green - it's packed with fresh, healthy ingredients, and it's naturally sweetened. I'm also a huge fan of the flatbreads. I tried a chicken caesar wrap last time, and it was tasty, but probably not as good as the flatbreads. Either way, the food is warm and delicious. I'm sure a lot of people go here for smoothies, but seriously - try the food. It's awesome. read more

Tropical Smootie Cafe is my new favorite smoothie place. Not only do they have smoothies, but sandwiches, wraps, and more too. It's not a huge place, but they do have some seating. We have so far just gotten smoothies to go. They have an app and you can order through it or check out all the smoothie choices. We hadn't even heard about this new business until my wife saw the Grand Opening on FB so that is how I found myself there at 5 in the morning. Now we have a reason to go weekly for the next year! I think we will be there more often. So far all 3 of my smoothies have been great and I can't wait to try more. The Sunrise Sunset so far has been my favorite. It has strawberry, pineapple, and OJ. $5.99 smoothies are win. They offer great options and compared to other smoothie places in the city they are not packed with sugar. I love the detox one. All their smoothies come in one size which is pretty almost because it's a nice size. They also offer an extended menu of healthier choice warm and cold food. Things from salads to quesadillas- for a good price. My chicken quesadilla was small but only $4 which a steal . The only con is that customer service is lacking. I received no greeting when I entered ,just blank stares. No one offer me menu suggestions or inquired if this was my first visit or if I had any questions. Also, their were 5 employees behind the counter and they all moved at a glacial pace. I waited 15min for 2 smoothies and no order was before mine. It got pretty antsy while waiting. read more

I have been in three times in the last week they have been open. I enjoyed each one of the smoothies that I have had. I tried a sandwich the last time I was in as well and it was way to much food. Good food for a reasonable price but the service is hit or miss. I went in for a bowl and they made me a wrap. Another time it took 20 mins for my order so the manger came to apologize and handed me a card for a free item. I went back a week later to redeem my free item only to have to wait another 20 mins because the cashier accidentally deleted my order. The manager came to apologize and ask for my information and assured me he would contact me later because they were out of VIP cards and certificates to give costumers for bad service. I've been to this tropical smoothie a few times in the past year. I've never had a problem, wait time was about par with other tropical smoothie restaurants. I went there today and order with my son before his game. Our order: 2 flatbread sandwiches and 2 smoothies. Nothing complicated. We go our sandwiches waited 5 for one smoothie, waited other 10mins - now I'm standing and waiting. I asked nicely that we we're still waiting on one...nothing. Finally had to go back to the register and ask for a refund since we were going to be late at this point. The manager really dropped the ball. There were plenty of high school workers who seemed more freaked out about a huge online order than the people in the restaurant waiting for their food. We stopped in today for lunch. I had the hummus wrap. It was served warm, which surprised me, but was the perfect size and really flavorful. My husband had the jerk chicken wrap which he also enjoyed. The restaurant was super cute and clean inside. Service was great, and we got a smoothie to go on the way out. It was huge and very tasty. I get why they don't have options for other drinks (like soda or tea) as I am sure they want to promote their smoothies, but I am a soda drinker, and that was the one thing I missed. We placed a to go order through the app and arrived 15 minutes later to pick it up. The order hasn't been made yet so an associate says he will make them. My wife was one of 2 people in the location, with 4 associates visible. It took another 15 minutes before our order was ready. Tropical Smoothie has always been my top choice smoothie location because they are transparent about the ingredients that go into their smoothies and allow for lots of customization. Looking to cut down on carbs or sugar? Substitute a sweetener. Need more protein in your diet? They have whey, soy and pea protein. They have your basic fruit smoothies, recipes designed for health and wellness, and some indulgent ones, too! You can find just about anything that suits your taste buds. I also love their food menu. With a variety of salads, wraps, and sandwiches (and breakfast!), anyone can find something they'll like. My personal favorite is the peanut butter banana crunch flatbread. It's served warm with honey drizzled on top of a generous heaping of peanut butter and banana slices. This location is really clean and well lit. Like the other locations, you can see your smoothies being made right in front of you. There's lots of seating available. It's located in a strip mall sort of area. There's not a lot of parking immediately outside the door, but plenty in the area. The staff here has been SO friendly to me during my last few visits. read more

So I went with a coworker and the wait was long! But that wasn't the kicker! The manager comes and gives my coworker a refund because of the wait! Then we get to work and I eat my food and it was delicious! I ordered the Baja chicken wrap and it was sooo delicious!!! Today I stopped by after going to Market District for groceries. Their sunshine smoothie and Caesar salad bowl were both great! The smoothie was nice and thick, and had great flavor throughout. I ordered online, and my order was waiting for me at the front counter. The staff was very friendly during the few moments I was there. It all happened on January 13th. I was driving home with my mom from my basketball on a cold Sunday afternoon. We had just taken a big dub and I scored a season high 8 points. As we drove on 116th my eyes caught a glimpse of heaven. My eyes had passed over the beautiful tropical smoothie sign. Immediately my heart rate went up how was this possible? A tropical smoothie just minutes from my home? This had been a lifelong dream that seemed to be coming to fruition. I yelled and told my mom to pull into the cafe. We went around the roundabout as tears of joy filled my eyes and poured down my face. I pulled out my phone and started to vlog for my Instagram and share this overwhelming news. As we walked in I still could not believe it. We walked to the counter and told the workers about our excitement. As I ordered I felt a sense of pure happiness. Till the first sip of my smoothie I was sure this could not be possible but it was. This was a dream come true.
