I haven't stepped foot inside of this location in many years, so I cannot comment on the atmosphere, but I recently placed an order for delivery via DoorDash. I was craving a sub, but in my rush to order before a work meeting, I mistakenly ordered a half sandwich. When I say sandwich, I mean meat and cheese between two slices of multi-grain bread...AND cut in half! I was so upset with myself. Not only did it not satisfy my craving, but the bread was slightly soggy. It was quite literally falling apart - maybe from the oil and vinegar if that was still included. So, I wound up taking the meat, cheese and banana peppers (it was a Grilled Italian) off of the bread and eating it with my fingers. Sans bread. The Sweet Tea and Fresh Cut Fries saved me that day. I love Penn Station subs, and it wasn't their fault that I ordered the incorrect sandwich, but it did leave me wondering why they even sell those types of sandwiches to begin with. First time at this restaurant and with biggest interior space I have seen for Penn Station. They have a lot of comfy booths and stools. Food pictures framed. Good atmosphere. I was surprised that this location was super busy for Sunday lunch. I ordered 2 small 6" subs - steak Philly cheesesteak and chicken Philly cheesesteak each on wheat with double veggies and no condiments and double toasted. I asked for the chicken sub to go but server did not get it right. I am giving this restaurant 5 stars partly because of their efforts to fundraise for American Cancer Society but with each starting bid of framed celebrity for $195. Worth it? read more

As a diehard Penn station fan, I was super bummed with my latest food delivery. I unwrapped my sandwich to find a hunk of bread with barely 1 artichoke, 2 slices of mushroom, and a quarter sized piece of hard cheese. Even my fries sucked- they were all like the cold, broken bits you usually find at the bottom of the container. I've never had this issue dining in, so I'd recommend avoiding delivery. read more

Service is excellent, fast and friendly. The restaurant is clean and centrally located near downtown Carmel. I don't think I ordered the right thing, though, because I was mostly perplexed by my sandwich. I ordered the meatball sub, and it came with mustard and mushrooms on it. Huh? It wasn't a special order, either. So I think that maybe I'm not the right audience for Penn Station's meatball subs. I came in expecting a sandwich with basically just meatballs, marinara sauce and provolone cheese. I was not expecting mustard and mushrooms. But that's the way they make the meatball sub, so I'm assuming someone likes it that way, right? The fries are awesome and mealy, just like I like them. I'm in the area a few days a week and drove by Penn Station the other day and thought to myself, "hey, I haven't eaten there in awhile." So, I decided to do something about it! I ordered online before I left for the restaurant, wanting to limit the time that I spent inside waiting around. I ordered a regular sub and small french fry, and the estimated time for my lunch to be ready was about 15 minutes. I arrived a few minutes before my order was supposed to be ready. The gentleman at the counter double checked the computer and made sure he had my order and said it would just be a minute for the fries. Super friendly guy and just like he said.. it was just a few minutes before my food was ready. As soon as it was, it was brought out to me. I had to ask for catsup but got several packets right away. I took my sandwich back to my office to eat. Granted, it wasn't that long of a drive, but everything was nice and hot when I got into it. Sandwich was delicious... I honestly don't know why Penn Station isn't on my list of regular places like some other spots. Before you go.. make sure you sign up for their rewards program online! read more

After receiving a coupon for free small fries (I posted a picture of it) with the purchase of a sub I made the decision to go for my one weekly Super Caloric Yummy Indulgence to Penn Station. There was only one person inside waiting for his order and a couple pulled up just I got in my car to leave. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak on white bread with mushrooms, onions and banana peppers with a bit of mayo. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the sub. I haven't actually had a cheesesteak anywhere else in town because if I'm craving one then I go to Penn Station. I love their fries as well - the small is definitely a smaller portion than let's say Five Guys but it's adequate for a small and I love the taste, size of fries and crispyness. read more

We arrived right as they opened. The staff was very fast and friendly. While we waited for ours a few customers came in to pick up orders and they only had to wait a few minutes for their order to be completed. We got a regular club with Sun Chips and a small artichoke sub with no mushrooms and a small fry and two lemonades to wash it down. So yummy! I don't normally seek out chain sandwich shops, but my coworkers come here a lot and love it so I had to check it out. I've always been either a Subway or Jimmy Johns girl. The 8" sub sandwich was plenty filling - per the recommendation of my coworker, I got the artichoke sandwich with mushrooms. I forgot how delicious a hot, toasted deli sandwich can be - melty cheese pulls, yes please! Also per the recommendation of another coworker, I ordered a small fry. I had been craving fries and yes, these are so good - and so fresh! Everything is fresh here. The peppy staff at Penn Station made my experience even better. Yesterday I stopped into this Penn Station location around 5 PM. The restaurant was not very busy. I am a huge Penn Station fan, this franchise is pretty consistent and I don't think I have ever had anything from PS that was not delicious. The service was quick. I had an 8" cheesesteak and ordered my wife an 8" artichoke (she's a vegetarian) and added lettuce. Both sandwiches were made correctly and quickly and were delicious. I also had a medium fresh cut fries which were tasty and a decent quantity. Along with a large soda total around 18 bucks. Food was worth it. Getting hungry for more just typing this. I would say you have to go cheesesteak but I have also had the chicken parm which was delicious and a few others and all have been very tasty but I always go back to the philly. This my favorite Penn Station. I think we all know what a Penn Station subs are as food but which I think is amount the highest quality sub shop. But this place is outstanding for service and cleanliness. They are always checking if you need anything and other than at the busiest times will will clean off your empty trays. Workers regularly clean the drink and condiment station. Asa plus the store seems to have much brighter lighting than others. read more

I had a club station a month ago at the Westfield store it was great. I order the same sandwich at the Carmel store tonight and it was horrible. Tons of mayo on it. No turkeys , random chucks of ham and a slice of bacon and tons of lettuce to cover it that it was a mayo sandwich. They reliever our meal one at a time with the fries being the last. Great sandwich spot in the lunch rotation. I tried the cheesesteak today for the first time, personally, I prefer the club or Italian. I've never had a bad sandwich from Penn Station, but if I had one critique it would be to be more conscious of evenly distributing the contents of the sandwich and cutting ALL THE WAY through the sandwich. Nearly every time I get a sandwich here, I pick it up and have to tear the sandwich the rest of the way apart.
