Today's lunch was a huge let down & I was anticipating this meal after fasting breakfast & a busy work day. The restaurant was clean and everyone seemed to be on a roll with getting orders out. I ordered a strawberry banana lean machine smoothie w/ a Baja chicken wrap (no Romaine).... When I got to work with my food I realized I was given a full Romaine wrap with no chicken, no onions, no Baja sauce, no cheddar, no roasted salsa, no avocado.. you HAVE to be joking. My children love Tropical Smoothie Cafe & this was our first visit (7/31/20). It was slow, so there were barely any customers inside. We ordered online with ease. The staff was kind of friendly; not poor service but also not the best. The floor needed to be swept, but other than that the store was clean. We ordered Blimey Limey smoothies & I wasn't impressed. It tasted like soap was in it. It left a bad taste in my mouth. My son loved his Lil Limeberry smoothie very much though. All in all, the family is still a fan of TS. read more

This location is very small and very busy. I frequent here often and they manage to get me in and out pretty quick. The place is decent but the tables are not always clean. Most order are to go because there are so many people waiting on there order sitting everywhere, you really can't enjoy your meal. The staff is very young, they are professional for the most part but on occasion they tell all there personal business to each other and it can easily be over-heard by the customers. First of all, the address is wrong on their app. I legitimately drove around for 10-15 mins around the crowded coliseum blocks trying to find this building, and eventually had to call for them to help guide me there. It was delivered (DoorDash) and only the smoothies arrived. Driver told us to contact the store. After initially REFUSING to come to the phone and leaving his employee to handle the issue he finally told me to come pick up my food next time. He refunded the cost of the bowls, JUST THE COST, NO TAX. I told him I wanted a full refund, he yelled at me and said 'the rest is my problem". I understand mistakes can be made, but I have NEVER dealt with such a horrible business owner. And, one of the 2 smoothies was NOT drinkable. It was a block of ice. I do not recommend this establishment. I usually go for lunch and place an order online and on 09/07/2022 I put in an order for a Turkey bacon sandwich with no Swiss and no ranch. I had a wonderful experience at this particular Tropical Smoothie! The service was quick and the staff were friendly. I stopped in here on a Tuesday afternoon and it was not busy at all. I ordered the beach bum (my favorite) and my fiancé ordered their blueberry bliss. You have an option to order dark chocolate or white chocolate with the beach bum and I usually order the white! Both of our smoothies came out prompt and tasted great. I have also ordered food from this location. I usually order their Thai Chicken Wrap and it never disappoints! It has a little kick to it, so if you are not a fan of spicy foods do not order this wrap. I also love coming to Tropical smoothie for their national flip flop day! The smoothie this year was different than in previous years. I believe it was a mango/pineapple one. It wasn't my favorite, but it was free and helped a great cause! Let me first start off and say TSC is one of my favorite smoothie locations. I got the same thing I always get... the kiwi quencher. The smoothie was okay....but tasted more tart than usual. This is not my first time at this location. I never get the sandwiches at TSC but time, I got the chipotle chicken club flatbread sandwich and that was also... okay. A couple hours later my stomach was REALLY bothering me and it wouldn't stop. I could barely drive home but once I did, I threw up 3 times, had diarrhea and couldn't go to work the next day. That sandwich and smoothie was all I ate last Sunday. So I know for sure I GOT FOOD POISONING from this location. I feel that the young girls working at this location need better training. I placed my order online. Took a shower and got dressed to go pick up. I arrived there, and ended up watching as people that came in after me get their orders first. That was in no way right. In all it took them over 30 minutes from the time they received the order to the time I actually got my order. This was not the first time, this was actually the fifth time in a row where I went in and ordered and ended up waiting an unreasonable amount of time. I would not recommend this place for anyone who enjoys tropical smoothie there are way better location than this one. They tend to most often not get the orders right, and most of the smoothies are very watery. Where is the manager at all of this madness? I don't know. I believe the couple times I visit a cycle through Manager's within two months. I heard one quit because this place was making them depressed and the other one just up and quit with no explanation. The owners need to be investigated as they keep cycling through employee faster than they can keep them. Probably the busiest location I've ever been too it stays consistent with making my smoothies. The customer service was average, nothing spectacular. This location is staffed with young attentive workers. Cleanliness of the store is ok. The food items are inconsistent, so I stick to ordering the Muscle Blaster with whey protein. I've been passing this establishment and not going in for about 11 months now simply out of sheer laziness. However, today I decided to give it a shot after my workout. They have several 24oz smoothies for about 5 dollars each. This is the only size that they have. I was interested in the supercharged smoothies. I asked for the Island Green which consists of spinach, kale, mango, pineapple and banana. I specified no sugar or splenda. They have several supplements such as whey or soy protein, ground flax seed, weight management, energizer and vitamin c. I added whey protein. Made this way my smoothie was only 320 calories. The whey protein was 100 of these 320 calories. The smoothie was super good, it really didn't need sugar or splenda. The cafe has several sandwiches ($4?), salads($7?) and soups ($3) as well which all look quite delicious. As for service, I wasn't in there long enough to really say but I would say it was a-ok not better, not worse. I thought I heard the lady that made my smoothie say the name of my smoothie and 'with splenda' so I asked her to clarify and she sorta came over said its without and went back to work. No smiles, no do you have any other questions, nothing like that. The establishment is large enough and has tables and chairs and small booths. It is well lit and bright. Overall, I will definitely return to this place and am excited to have found a place in Hampton roads where I can get something that will make me feel energized and won't kill me calories for the day! read more

I am so sorry but who is the manager of this location? You need to be replaced. When you walk in it smells ATROCIOUS. I thought they mixed cleaning products wrong but based on the cleanliness behind the counter I feel confident that no cleaning products are ever used. The station is nasty as hell, fruit all over the place, in other fruit bins, and it's clear it's been sitting there at least all day (at 2pm), maybe all week for that matter. Water all over the damn counter where the blenders are, like flooded. Zero attempt by the staff to clean it up btw. Just working in it, unbothered, and SLOW. The counter where you get your food was dirty, the rack holding whatever items on the front counter is rusted all over the counter. Tropical Smoothie was one of my go to places for a quick bite when I lived in the area. I was excited for a meal when I was in Hampton, but the food was not as good as I remember. They had changed the menu, and the vegetarian choices seemed more limited. Most of the wraps had chicken, but you could get them without meat if you wanted. There was a sign advertising a veggie hummus wrap or flatbread (with photos). I ordered flatbread, but was told the item only comes in a wrap. The smoothies came quickly, but the food took over 20 minutes. My wrap had so much dressing that the tortilla was gooey. The flavors were complimentary, but I would have preferred to not have it dripping dressing. However, there smoothies are still on point. The tropical Sunrise Sunset was a trip to a palm tree lined island. The fruit and juice mixed together perfectly and was a treat on a hot day. I was excited to try Tropical Smoothie after my friend had raved about their new flavor (Watermelon Mojito). After walking in, I did notice that the place needed a lot of TLC. It seemed dead and a bit dirty. My first impression was to wonder if they're closing the whole store down to be remodeled, but I don't think so. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ended up ordering two Watermelon Mojitos and one Avocolada(?). The service was fast and they got the drinks out in no time. The sizes are huge and very affordable. I liked my drink although it didn't really taste much like watermelon. The same for the avocolada. My friend said it tasted more like pineapple than anything else. I'll probably try more of their drinks next time, and possibly go to a different store that's more well taken care of.
