I've visited a few Tropical Smoothie Cafés, here, in Jacksonville. But, this location took the crown! Upon entering the café, I immediately noticed how clean it was. The atmosphere was a beach-vibe, especially with all of the decor. There wasn't much of a wait for our smoothies after we've made our selections. And I totally forgot that all of the smoothies was served in one size, which was plentiful. It took me by surprise when one of the employees recognized my friend and I was Yelpers. I forgot she was wearing the badge as we was stopping by for a smoothie before attending a Yelp event. LOL! That shows that they are very observant! Kudos for that! I ordered the Paradise Point which consisted of strawberries, bananas, and pineapple. That was quite delicious. My friend enjoyed a Detox Island Green Superfood Smoothie which was naturally sweetened with the following ingredients: spinach, kale, mangos, pineapples, bananas, and fresh ginger. The kids saw the sign today as we were driving by and insisted on stopping to grab some smoothies and who am I to argue? The store was hopping and the staff were all running hard, but the service was excellent! We really appreciate the fact that everyone, staff and customers alike, were masked and precautions are being taken. It made me very comfortable bringing my smaller children in; they don't get much time out in public so since we now know it's safe for them here, we'll make the drive over and make this a regular occurrence! PS I always recommend the Bahama Mama or Beach Bum for tropical deliciousness; Peanut Paradise for a yummy peanut butter treat! I came here because I was early to a Yelp Event. Shante and I carpooled together, so we came down to buy a smoothie. I had a very low carb green detox smoothie and it was delicious! One of the employees their noticed my Yelp badge and asked if I work for Yelp. Shante and I chuckled and we told her we were on our way to an event near by. Totally Green was pretty good. You'll taste more of the celery, cucumber, spinach, and kale than the green apple and kiwi. Be advised. I'm okay with it. Like it this way actually. I stopped by this morning at 7:46 on my way to work to order my favorite watermelon mojito. I was charged $7.46 for what I used to pay around $4 for. When I asked the cashier if they were still doing happy hour she said yes but she was not sure what time it ends. I told her I have always gotten the happy hour discount on my watermelon mojito. She just glared at me and said maybe it does not include the new ones. I paid full price and waited for her to make my smoothie. After she gave me my smoothie I asked to speak to the manager, she took her sweet time getting the manager. I spoke to the manager and he said it should have been discounted but did not offer a refund or anything. I told him he might want to retrain his cashier as she did not even ask anyone. Man a smoothie on a hot day is so good! Refreshing a great drink/meal to take with you and enjoy for a while (they are big smoothies) We like to go for lunch they serve food also sandwiches, wraps, tacos, flatbreads, they change out their menu for specials and everything is good. OK so I am having a tough time with the stars I want to put 3 stars but its really better than that, so 4 Stars on this location. Tropical Smoothie has changed some since back in the day when I used to work there. Most items are still on the menu here and are made just the same way. The prices just keep going up don't they? This location doesn't really have much to offer the dine in consumer other than Bright colors on the wall. The seating is very limited, which is ok because most people take to go. It is a very narrow restaurant and you walk to the back and place your order, then head to the front and wait to be called. I do like that they are tech savvy here and have rewards card on iPhones now. If you have the app you can rack up points for free stuff. Its pretty neat. They changed the look of their menu and now have no pictures. I really liked seeing what my food would look like before I ordered it. especially the new items. So as luck would have it no pictures to go on I took a chance and ordered something other than the good old "King Caesar". I ordered the Spinach salad with candied pecans, bacon, and peaches. The salad itself looked appetizing but the dressing was some sort of creamy pink stuff that tasted like spicy mustard.Yuck! I wish I would have known the dressing before so I could have switched it out for something better. So the salad was a loss but the Avocado Smoothie was quite good. It tasted healthy but in a good way. Like oh this is healthy and tastes good! Score! I usually enjoy coming here, I just hate trying something and not liking it. YEARS ago when I worked for Starbucks on southside, we had one of these places just a few doors down, and after I discovered they had more than just smoothies, I would go in and try the wraps. I tried a few different ones, but my favorite was the Popeye one. It had spinach and chicken and something else. This is the only reason I stopped here. I haven't had one in about 4 years and really wanted to go back to the good old days. My family and I had been going there (sanjose blvd)for several years but we will not be goin back there any more. Every time we have gone there even before COVID they all ways get something wrong on our order or they over charge us. And when we bring it to their attention the owner acts very nasty as if we made the mistake. Once we ask for no sugar to be put in our smoothies because we are allergic, and they did anyway. Lucky we tried it before we left. The owner was so nasty to us because he had to remake it. The employees I think are not trained properly. They over charged us and didn't know how to give me a refund. The owner is a very nasty racist acting guy. He makes the atmosphere in there very uncomfortable when he's there. When all the people behind me in line got theirs and left, I went up to the counter and asked about mine only to see the girl pull it from behind the blenders (they forgot about it) pour it in a cup and hand to me saying "sorry, we're busy". It was mostly thawed and soupy after sitting for 20 minutes. Upon taking a sip, it wasn't even right. No B12 as ordered, and + sugar when I asked for none. The shift leader was less than helpful, didn't really care that the order was wrong, that I wasn't happy for waiting 20 minutes, I had to pretty much demand my stupid $5 back - and still not care for customer retention or recovery.
