Well, it's good to know first of all it is vegan. That might not make a difference for a juice but for me, for a smoothie it does. I didn't try everything on the menu, of course, and many things sounded delicious. They have a lot of unique options. But I will never ever order anything 'acai' at this place. I am sure someone likes it. If you didn't think of it as being acai, then you might like it too. But I am picky about acai and I want it to taste like it. This does not. Just a fact. I came here in between meetings because I wanted something quick, but healthy. I walked in and while the place is small, there is some seating. I checked out the menu, and decided to get the berry banana burst (strawberry, banana, blueberry, housemade cashew milk, and agave nectar). I wasn't the biggest fan of the price: $7 for a smaller size smoothie. Seems high to me, but that's my personal opinion. I waited a few minutes and my smoothie was done. I took a sip and it was good, I wasn't entirely sure how the cashew milk would taste in this smoothie. You could definitely taste the nuttiness in each sip. They have wifi which was a plus, so if you're coming here to get some work done, it's a good spot to stop. Would I come here again? Yes, I think next time I'll get an acai bowl. Stopped in for the first time to try out something different than Tropical Smoothie or Smoothie key and was offered a free small smoothie for downloading the app. I did this but wanted to upgrade to a large with some protein and pay the difference. The girl at the counter was very nice but did not know how to ring it up to she called the owner over. He restated the obvious, the coupon was for a small smoothie, I repeated my request nicely and politely. He seemed quite flustered and told me to order 2 free smoothies, but the realized that the coupon was for only one. He pressing all sorts of buttons on his POS screen, and there was one labeled "Discount" and I suggested that maybe the discount button would work. Boy did that hit a nerve: he rudely snapped back at me and said he's the owner and he will figure it out. Jeez! Sorry Mr Owner for try to help when you were clearly fumbling around. Not a great customer experience. The smoothies are good but still chucks of spinach were floating around and expensive compared to the competition. So 4 stars for the Smoothie Quality/value Equation 2 stars for getting snapped at by the owner for trying to help. I may go back if I'm shopping at Trader Joe's and the owner is not around to ruin the experience. read more

I used to love this place when I lived in LA. The tropical and acai banana berry bowls....yummy! So when I saw that a Nektar outposting had opened here, I knew that I had to come by. I've struggled with finding great acai bowls in Jax so I was happy to see a familiar place that I know and like. Interestingly, the offerings at this location are different than the ones in LA. Since there was no tropical bowl on the menu, I tried the acai mango bowl. It had a base of acai, mango, banana, pineapple, and coconut water and it was topped with hempseed granola, coconut flakes, pineapples, strawberries, bananas, and agave. For $8.60, I was pleased. The toppings were very generous. I also tried the chocolate and strawberry skoop, which is their vegan frozen treat. The chocolate was a bit thick but the coconut tasted light and refreshing. I could imagine returning for a scoop of this with some fresh fruit toppings. Open for five weeks when I visited, and with their grand opening just the prior week, Nektar is adding a much needed additional option to the Jax acai scene. I'm glad that they've ventured to the east coast. read more

So, when I went on vacation to Florida I was excited to find there was a juice bar just down the street from where we were staying. We decided to stop by on Friday morning. The place had a steady flow of customers. The staff was very nice, but it seemed like they struggled to keep up with the orders. Perhaps they need more blenders? I'm not sure... There's so many new spots popping up in the South Beach Regional shopping center and Nekter is one of the newer ones to join the party. Opening last summer gave me the opportunity to grab a cool juice on a hot day. Finally broke down and joined the rewards program (only available on their app) when I found myself stopping in on a regular basis when I was working on my yoga teacher training just across the parking lot. The staff has always been friendly and offers great suggestions to tweak your juice or açaí bowl making it that much better. I've tried a couple of the juices and one of the bowls, but I constantly find myself going back to the green juice with extra ginger for a kick. New and fresh juice bar in the Jacksonville Beach area. I love how we are getting more places like this around town. To my Nekter experience, I really wanted to love this place. I took a look at the company's website prior to visiting and it seemed like a franchise that strives to keep their quality and ideals throughout location. Originating in California I read to download the app prior to coming in. The app is suppose to give you rewards and for a pricey smoothie place I'll take advantage of all the rewards I can get! Upon arrival, I found the inside refreshing and appealing to the eye. I ordered the açaí smoothie. Prices here are not cheap, they are fully betting on the fact you'll pay for quality and I suppose that's fair. One thing that disappointed me was the customer service. The employee was very sweet but she seemed uneducated in her role and did not even know about the Nektar app altogether . Let alone, did she know how scab it so I could receive rewards. She asked one of her coworkers in the back and he did not know either. Additionally, I asked if they had WiFi access because I wanted to send a couple emails while I was there. She did not know the answer to this either. Side note : they do and it's free . Not to put down their employees in any way, but I think it just demonstrates the lack of training that was given. Furthermore, when I sat down I saw a few tables that had trash in them and for not being very busy I thought this was just a lack of attention. Overall, not sure if I'll go back here.
