My entire order was wrong :( I ordered a BYO bowl, with Sriracha honey on the side, but my bowl ended up being slathered in ranch and I'm allergic to ranch. I called and they told me to come back and they could remake it but it was a 20 minute drive and I had to be home to take care of my dogs. My husband ordered a burrito and a white tortilla and they gave him spinach which it ended up being fine, but in the grand scheme of things, our entire order was wrong. We did order the kale brussels sprouts Caesar salad, but it was room temperature and it was pretty gross and I normally really like all of those ingredients put together so I'm not sure if they were having an off night with it. I emailed in the only option I was given was a gift card but now they have not responded to me. I think if you're spending $50 on food, it should be right, especially if someone is allergic to an ingredient. There was no one in the restaurant other than one other person waiting on an order. I would've been a little bit more understanding had they been absolutely swamped, but they were not. I tried to call back again today to speak with a manager about a refund, but he was not there either time I called. if the manager is the only one that can do a refund, they should be a little bit more accessible, or have the ability to allow staff to do things like that. read more

Tried Vale Food Co for an açaí bowl and left feeling a bit underwhelmed. I got the regular size with strawberry, kiwi, and peanut butter, but for $13.99, the topping portions were disappointing. I got about a third of a kiwi, maybe one whole strawberry (if we're being generous), and a massive glob of peanut butter. I usually expect the peanut butter to be drizzled on top, but this was just a big dollop, making it hard to enjoy with the açaí. Service was also super slow--I came in on a Saturday afternoon when there was no line, yet it still took about 10 minutes before someone helped me at the register after greeting me. I might come back to try their savory bowls, but even those seemed pricey (there's literally a $33 steak bowl--at a fast casual spot?!). As someone who dines out often and supports local businesses, I rarely write reviews this harsh, but my experience at Vale was shockingly poor and deserves to be addressed. I placed an online order at 9:00 PM with a promised pickup time of 9:30 PM. When I arrived, not only was my order not ready, but it hadn't even been started. I stood waiting about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me and when they finally did, it was clear the staff had no idea how to handle an online order. The employee began making my açai bowl, only to abandon it midway when another customer walked in. He literally stopped preparing my food to make hers first. Another staff member had to step in and question why he left my order unfinished. His reasoning? "Because somebody walked in." That lack of logic and priority is unacceptable, especially when my order had already been placed and paid for. When he returned to making my bowl, he asked me what went in it, as if I'd ordered something custom. This was a standard menu item (Super Blue Antioxidant Detox Bowl) I even had to pull up the menu on my phone to tell him what should be included and despite that, the bowl I received was still incorrect and missing items. For an establishment that charges premium prices for what are already small portions, I expected at the very least competence, urgency and basic customer service. Instead, I left frustrated with a wrong order and zero confidence in their operations. It's unfortunate, because I came in excited to try Vale for the first time, but this was hands-down one of the worst customer service experiences I've had anywhere. If Vale wants to live up to the high ratings it boasts, accountability and training are desperately needed. read more

Service is awful. My son and I were super uncomfortable ordering. I get that it was an hour before closing, but if you're that miserable at work then something needs to change because honestly no one looked less than miserable. I feel like it's a management issue, because morale starts with leadership and this just isn't it. I don't think we'll be coming back. I like to support businesses in downtown Jacksonville, but there are plenty of other healthy options that aren't a negative experience. Most recently, I had the Cilantro Balsamic Bowl with Mediterranean chicken, feta cheese, and broccoli--a perfect balance of fresh ingredients and bold flavors. I also tried the roasted sweet potatoes, vegetable quinoa, and lemon garlic chicken breast, and everything was seasoned well and cooked just right. Went today for the 2nd time to get an Açaí bowl. I don't plan to return. The AC in the store was off so the place had a funky pungent odor. When I entered the establishment the staff looked at my mobile order, said nothing and the proceeded to make a few others food. I waited, assumed she saw it and would work on it. 15 minutes goes by and she finally made the bowl. The Açaí is not freshly blended, it's scooped from a container. I do wish customer service was a bit better since I walked in and said I'd never been and was given no guidance on how to order. I had to ask a lot of questions to figure out what was going on. I liked the more sustainable packaging for takeout that didn't include straight plastic. However, I specifically asked for silverware since I was at a hotel and they included it on my receipt but didn't include it in the bag. I ordered 2 dinner bowls and an açaí bowl and all three were not made as specified. I asked for sauce on the side for easy reheating and they poured it on top. Not the end of the world, but still annoying. The kale Caesar was amazing but nothing else was really notable. My açaí bowl was great, but I received a smaller size than I paid for and they forgot the granola. Overall, just not a great experience. Every time I come here, the wait is never less than 30 minutes for a pick up order Today I placed a pickup order through Uber Eats and still ended up sitting inside the restaurant for 40 minutes waiting. When I walked in, I was told they were "waiting on broccoli" and it would be about 6 minutes. I watched the broccoli come out, and my order still wasn't ready long after that. At that point, after waiting far longer than I should have, I asked what was going on -- yes, I was annoyed, because the situation was frustrating and poorly communicated. One employee responded with "who you talkin to?", which was completely inappropriate and unprofessional regardless of my tone. Another employee stepped in and handled it properly, but the first employee continued to stare me down. Being busy is understandable. Chronic long waits, inaccurate time estimates, and disrespectful customer service are not. If pickup orders are going to take this long, customers deserve honesty and professionalism. read more
