I used to love tropical smoothie but it seems no matter how many times I try to go back and give it another shot I am always disappointed. This location specifically was out of bananas and chocolate chip cookies which was more of an annoyance than a complaint. Aside from that I placed my order and went in after 10 minutes. I watched them help everyone else in line that came in after me and help everyone in the drive thru before FINALLY getting my food after waiting almost an hour. Got to my car and checked the food only to find that it was cold and there was no salsa for my quesadilla..... already frustrated and tired I decided to just let it go and drive the rest of the way home....another 4 hours. Keep in mind I worked in the service industry for eight years! Keep in mind the "times we are in" I don't know what's actually opened or closed. The window for drive-thru was physically open so I assumed they were ready-to-order. First off, no one acknowledged my presence at the ordering menu; as I pull forward to the window, known behold, a young lady had the audacity to close the window meanwhile making eye contact with me and attempted to walk away. I yelled "Excuse me!?" As I watched her look at her phone and realize it was 7:55 AM. When I asked her what time they opened, she simply stated "8am." as she once again closed the window in my face... All I wanted was ONE smoothie and it was ONLY FIVE MINUTES before opening. Listen, it's an automatic 5 stars when you visit and they remember your name and even past orders. I mean how awesome is that?? They are always super nice and service is speedy inside. We frequently go to this location and haven't ever had an issue. Unfortunately, this morning, my husband waited at the drive thru for 15 minutes before deciding to walk inside. When he went in he ordered two smoothies, and it seemed that the manager was annoyed with his presence and him ordering! The Detox Island Green smoothie for me was fine but his tasted like water... I like their Muscle Builder smoothie. The only negative it was tastier than the Fit 'n Burn at Smoothie King, but not as filling. Given that I had just worked out, I was looking for a high protein smoothie that would fill me as I really was not in the mood for a my solid food...I know that's blasphemy. A little more protein, could have made the difference. Anyway, the location was nice and staff friendly. But given that I looked a sweaty mess, I was looking forward to their drive-thru, however when I got to it, no one was minding the window and I though it was closed. So I drove around and went in looking probably like a wet mess. I asked about the drive-thru and they said that it was opened and apologized for the inconvenience. This has to be the worst Tropical Smoothie in town. It didn't used to be, so I don't know if management changed, if the staff doesn't care, but I will never go back. The last 3 smoothies I've gotten there (over a 6 month period b/c I continue to say I'm not going back) have been made poorly, watered down, & disgusting. My BF called management, but no changes have been made. On Friday morning, after waiting in the drive thru for at least 25 minutes (with only 2 cars ahead of me btw), I was served a watered down, ill flavored smoothie with a southwest wrap that had gummy chicken in it. I couldn't finish the smoothie and I had to pull the chicken out to eat the wrap. Whatever has changed, please fix it because this location is most convenient for many patrons. read more

Not a very solid dining experience. To be fair, I only had lunch not a smoothie - and when I tried my friends Sunrise smoothie it was very good. I went with the Chicken Caesar Wrap. I specifically asked if the dressing was creamy or more of a vinaigrette - since I really dislike the vinaigrette variety. The cashier who was a younger guy maybe in his early 20's said it was creamy but disappointingly it wasn't. They were also out of Parmesan cheese and forgot to put tomatoes on it so I had to go back and have him add those...since otherwise it was chicken and lettuce. Speaking of chicken, it honestly seemed like it was canned chopped meat that some people make chicken salad with...needless to say I wasn't impressed. The fresh fruit side was a choice between an apple or a banana.. My friend spilled all over the table (and me) - when we asked for napkins (that are kept behind the the counter) they gave us literally like 4 at a time ...we had to go back three times even after I explained to him that it was a big spill. It seems like they need to increase the quality of their ingredients and re-train some of their employees ...Go if you want a smoothie but for lunch I suggest elsewhere. read more

The employee's at this Tropical Smoothie work very hard. That being said, it seems that Tropical Smoothie's in general are not very quick to make your order. I have had the same experience at all Tropical Smoothie's and I hope that it is something that the corporation will fix. We have gone to this Tropical Smoothie multiple times and wait about 10-12 minutes on average to get our 2 smoothies. I understand smoothie's take more time to make, but I expect to wait maybe 5 minutes. However, I do believe that the employee's work very hard and do the best that they can. The food is great and I love the southwest wrap but for the last few months something has slowed the drive threw so bad the wait time has made me only come here once a week if that. I'm absolutely one of those people who prefer to eat my calories over drinking them. That said, those times when I do indulge into a smoothie (usually post workout or if I think I'm getting sick), I prefer to do so with Tropical Smoothie. This location is the only Tropical Smoothie I've ever visited with a drive thru, which is a nice touch. I tend to forget that Tropical Smoothie doesn't just do smoothies, they also do actual food. I've had their breakfast sandwiches and wraps and very much enjoyed them (they have a vegetarian wrap that has hummus, it's fantastic). The area where this store is located gets pretty crazy at lunch time but on the weekends and at "off" times, it's not bad at all. I've been in here a few times and the service has always been super friendly and faster than other locations I've experienced (i.e. their location on Southside near Baymeadows). read more
