Our first visit! In Middletown, this cafe seems to be primarily a take out option, but there is limited seating. We opted for wraps and I chose the Super Green Caesar chicken wrap, adding the kale apple salad and a strawberry banana smoothie. It was a filling and fresh option, and I appreciated it didn't feel heavy. The service was fast and friendly. The two people working had kept a clean store and continued to clean after we had our items. When ordering we were encouraged to ask questions about the menu. I frequent this establishment quite often. The first time I was there, the person making my bowel had on gloves and touched every single surface, even scratched his head full of hair with the gloves on and then started making my bowl and touching the fruit. This last time was the last straw. I ordered Nutella acai bowl. Guess what was missing? The damn Nutella they charge you extra money for and they refused to give me a refund!!! read more

My first time at Tropical Café and the cashier pulled out a menu from behind the counter and it showed how many calories each drink had with the sweeteners and the number of calories if you substitute the sweeteners. I ordered the Acai Berry Boost. It has acai, pomegranate, banana, blueberries and strawberries in it. I also tried the edible strawberry straw. I've never had a edible straw before and it was good. The only negative I have is that the straw broke in half when I was trying to push it in my cup. read more

Bizarre that I'm reviewing over an apple. I typically grab a smoothie (acia boost) and pesto chicken sandwich. Both very good. Make sure to ask for no added sugar or supplement with Splenda. Anyhoo I get a side with all that food. I usually grab chips for later but today I asked for an apple. Now I'm an apple snob. Raised on property with a ton of apple trees. I don't typically like store bought apples. I just felt like an apple. WOW it was a good apple! I don't know the last time I had one that good. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the *delicious* Veggie Hummus Wrap I got here last week, so I went again today! I was excited to find out, because I joined the rewards program (via their app during my first visit) I was already awarded a free smoothie. I tried the Green Island Detox Smoothie w/out ginger & it was so good! I love that they are a smoothie shop with actual healthy options. I also really enjoy the Sweet Potato Bites! Food is great; service needs work. Came to pickup a to-go order on a Saturday night at 8:08. All lights turned off, all chairs put up on tables; business appeared close. I had already paid for my meal, so attempted to enter. At this time, I realized the business was open and in fact - was scheduled to be open for another 50 minutes. If I was the owner, I would certainly want to know that my staff allowed my business to appear closed 50 minutes early. read more

I ordered a chicken quesadilla and a smoothie on the on the online app tropical cafe app. The app said that the food would be ready in 10 minutes. I walked in and the smoothie was ready so they gave me my smoothie and they the girl told me that my quesadilla would be ready in a few minutes. 25 minutes later my chicken quesadilla was ready. . The smoothie was good the chicken quesadilla was a little overdone but still good but the 25 minute wait is inexcusable. I asked for free smoothie the next time I came in for the long wait which I thought was very reasonable for my 25 minute wait from the manager. The manager said that if she give me one she have to give everyone in the store one! Why?? I was the only one asking?? The manager told me that she had warned me that It was going to take a long time to get the food when I ordered. I received no warning on the app. It said 10 minutes. I told her I ordered on the app. She had a blank expression on her face then seemed angry and started going on that she didn't have superhuman strength and started talking about they were short staffed and they were hiring and if I knew someone let her know. Lol . I will definitely never go back to this smoothie tropical smoothie Café. The manager has no idea how to treat customers or run a store. Odd I noticed the manager back there talking on the phone. If you're going to make a customer wait an additional 25 minutes for a total of 35 minutes for their food after you've ordered it online it is just unuexcusable. I've been going to Tropical Smoothie for years in other states. This place is by far the worst I have ever been to. The staff always seems overwhelmed. The younger kids working keep their heads down and work hard. The short blond headed lady that works here is terrible. She is super rude. The last two times here she has raised her voice to tell everyone waiting that we will all have to be patient, that are Under staffed, and that they are super backed up. It's fine to let people know it's going to be a wait, but not in the tone that she uses. Luckily 3/4 of the line left after her outburst this time. If you choose to eat here, be prepared to pay, for a long wait, and rudeness. If you are up for all of that, the product is actually pretty good. read more

Really disappointed the last few times I have visited. They obviously are struggling to find help and that stinks for the owner or manager but it is hurting the quality of product. Smoothies aren't blended well with ice chunks in them and then today my sons PB cup smoothie was only 3/4 filled because he took out Banana? workers are super nice and not overbearingly in your face! it was pretty dead when i went, which was around 10 or 11 AM on a tuesday. food was great and fast, it's a perfect spot to grab lunch and just sit for 10-15 minutes while you're out running errands. thanks girlies read more

DISAPPOINTED! l received a free smoothie promotion for my birthday and came into the store to redeem it. Skylar was the manager and was not helpful, she said there was nothing she could do since their system wasn't accepting the reward. I tried for 30 minutes on my own to see what l could do on my end to fix the problem and brought my mom in to talk to the manager and Skylar refused to do anything. She told us to deal with it and pay for it! She made known to us that someone had just come in having that same problem. Skylar refused to give us a free smoothie and my mom and l left. She said she tried to call a higher manager to help but she later couldn't even name who the higher manager was. So much time waisted and such rude service was hurtful, especially on my birthday!! We are a family of 6 and come to tropical smoothie weekly. Can you do anything to make this right for my whole family? read more

Came here on Tuesday at about 3pm. Not sure if the person making my three smoothies just didn't know what they were doing or what but they were all awful. They tasted like watered down fruit. And the consistency was very runny. I didn't have time to go back and have them remade as I was out with my three children. My sister ordered one today, same flavor as one of the three I got on Tuesday, and it tasted completely different. Such a bummer. read more

Tropical smoothie cafe is one of my favorites! It reminds me of being on the beach, which I LOVE! Upon entry I was greeted by the employees! I wasn't for sure what I was going to get at this point and while I was looking I didn't feel rushed. I then figured out what i was going to get and order within the next 5 minutes my food was ready! Service was so quick and the food was so delicious! The serving size was great I feel perfectly full! I would've liked a little bit more flavor in my Bahamas mama smoothie, but it was still good. read more

Preston Hwy/Mudd Lane location: I had ordered ahead and walked in 10 minutes before my order was due to be ready, employees stated it wasn't ready yet so I say "no biggie I'm early so I'll wait" I waited for 40+ minutes without anyone asking my name or checking with me. I sat in a seat by the pick up at the doors, my order had been placed instead at the pick up at the opposite end I was sitting for over 20 minutes, no one bothered to ask my name again, instead kept staring at me and helping others that had walked in and basically ignored me the entire time. I won't be a returning customer and have shared my experience with people that live close so they know the customer service sucks. I work customer service (pharmacy) and that's a terrible way to treat a NICE customer. read more

I had the day off and didn't want to go anywhere, just stay home and chill with my dogs. But I was craving a smoothie and had just gotten over a cold so I decided to treat myself and DoorDash one. It took about 20-30 minutes which pretty fast given where the store was and where I live! It didn't come with a straw but I keep extras at home :) I ordered the peanut butter cup smoothie with extra peanut butter and no banana. It was wonderful! Thick consistency, creamy.
