On a recent trip to Louisville, we stayed in Nulu and were looking for a walkable breakfast option. Luckily, Biscuit Belly was just a few blocks away. The menu is pretty large for a fast casual restaurant, so there is something to every palate or just about every dietary restriction. I had the delicious Edgy Veggie: Fried green tomatoes with mushroom gravy on a biscuit with an iced coffee. The coffee is lovely and there is a good range of specialty lattes (hot or iced) including milk alternatives for the dairy challenged, such as myself. The staff was delightful and friendly, and equally as cheerful was the decor of the restaurant. No boring gray here! Despite many options our second day in town, we decided to return the next day. I love a good brunch spot and this place did not disappoint! The location was easy to find and menu had a lot of things I would like to try. You order food at the counter then find a seat anywhere for dining. I tried the fried chicken with biscuit-style french toast - it was delicious except I thought there was too much hot honey on the fried chicken and it overpowered everything. I also tried the fried chicken with sausage gravy on a biscuit and it was really good, but could have used more gravy to balance out the dough of the biscuit. In our introduction to the trendy NuLu neighborhood, we stopped by Biscuit Belly for brunch. Biscuit Belly is not bad at all, but nothing really stood out enough to make us want to come back. The modus operandi here is that you stand in line to place your order, then go find a table. At Sunday brunch time, the line can be long and slow to move. After you are seated, a runner will bring your food out. Our orders were correctly prepared and came out quickly. We ordered fried green tomatoes, loaded tater tots and donut holes as appetizers. The green tomatoes were just okay, but I would say that the dipping sauce that came with them was fabulous. The loaded tater tots didn't really seem like tater tots but tasted okay. The donut holes were decent. I ordered the Chick N' Ditch (chicken breast and waffles). The unpleasantly salty chicken was a filet. The French toast that looked like pancakes were good JP ordered the Avocado Toast and said it was just okay. The Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit was good. I was able to order a biscuit on the side (even though the paper menu didn't show biscuits as a side). The biscuit was good. I'm torn between three and four stars for Biscuit Belly, but because the ambience was lively and the interior appealing, I'll go ahead with four stars. read more

Wished there was a way to order more coffee after being seated instead of having to go through the line again. Bonut- Wonderful Bonus. This was the added bonus for signing up for their loyalty program. It was a very nice reward with instant payout. The bonuts were pillowy and the cream cheese sauce was sweet and tangy! Belly Board- Classic Combo. You get the choice of grits, cheesy grits, or home fries; I got the cheesy grits. The breakfast sausage had very nice savory flavor and the grits were stick to your ribs thick! Loaded Tater Tots- Phenomenal! This was a list minute add on as a side and it was the best decision. This is our 3rd year heading to Kentucky in the summer for our daughter's tournament & we have so much fun looking for good places to eat. So far we have not been disappointed. Biscuit Belly got added to the list this year when our regular breakfast spot was packed & I'm actually really happy it was & we got to try this gem. Hands down finger licking good ! So everything is a biscuit if the name doesn't give it away. I tried the Biacuit Benne ( smoked brisket, poached eggs, smoked Gouda mornay, roasted tomatoes topped with a poblano tomato sauce - YUM), my kids both had the Frenchie & well if you didn't guess it it's French toast, but a biscuit ! My hubby enjoyed the chick n' ditch the waffle & yup it's chicken & biscuit. Everything was delicious. So when you walk in you grab a menu & order at the register. Decided on this place after reading the reviews and seeing the pictures of the food. I'm a fan of biscuits and I liked that the menu had more than pork as meat options. I've never had biscuits as amazing as these! My plate was the biscuits and chicken and they were dense, unlike other biscuits but these were not sticky. They were so good. I could eat these everyday. The chicken was a thick piece, but man was it cooked to perfection. The maple syrup that came with it was sweet and paired perfectly with my meal. My partner enjoyed the syrup with his biscuit once he finished the pimento sauce. We also had a side of cheesy grits, I loved them, and some home fries. Everything we had we enjoyed and would definitely come back! I believe that they take reservations, but on a rainy Tuesday there was room to sit and not wait. They have coffee options, tea, and juices. Plenty of street parking around the area. And the prices are reasonable. It's spacious inside, although a bit chilly for me. My best friend and I took a short trip to Louisville over Christmas time. We were only there for a few days but we made sure to hit Biscuit Belly twice. On my first visit I ordered their eggs Benedict which came with a slab of brisket. The brisket was tender and extremely flavorful. The biscuit was fluffy and perfect. On our second visit I ordered a biscuit breakfast sandwich. The sandwich had egg made to order, and sausage. I also got a side of yogurt with fresh fruit that had a fruit sauce on it. Everything was excellent! I highly recommend their biscuits! The place itself if a small diner. You have to order at a counter then take a number to your table. Loved it! We were in a rush to go on a bourbon tasting tour on a Friday morning, and this was near our hotel. I ordered The Rockwell, plus an Old Fashioned (hair of the dog, etc). The drink was stiff and delicious, the biscuit was perfectly buttery and delicious, and the chicken was mega tender. There was a bit of a line to order, but it moved quickly and the staff brought out the food much more quickly than I expected. It definitely fit the thanksgiving vibe, with roasted turkey and bacon topped with a smoked Gouda mornay sauce, bacon, and four tiny roasted tomatoes. The biscuits were perfect to dip into them (I know, I know it's a sandwich!) The chicken was flavorful and crispy enough for me to enjoy the entire dish Funny enough my favorite part besides the syrup was the loaded breakfast tots. My group tried a little bit of everything - from the biscuits to some of their other menu offerings. We loved the little donut holes (?) which we got for free by signing up for their rewards program! I tried the fried green tomatoes and the corndogs - both were delicious. The sauce for the corndogs was a bit strange - I think I would have preferred straight maple syrup. My husband and I had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. The inside is clean and nice and bright. I would have taken photos but there were so many people there. By the time we left, every table was being used and there was a long line to place orders. When you arrive, you place and pay for your order at what looks like a hostess stand type of thing. Then you're able to go find a table. We both ordered the One and Done. It's one biscuit with gravy and my husband ordered an egg on his - over medium. We also each ordered a latte. We got our lattes first and they were good and nice and hot. Shortly after, our food was delivered. On the positive side, the gravy was pretty good! I find a lot of gravy in restaurants to be bland, but this had a decent flavor! Now for the negative - the gravy was lukewarm and should have been much hotter. The bottom part of the biscuit was overcooked and hard. My husband's egg was over hard instead of medium. Maybe we hit it at a bad time. Decided to order a carry out from here and was excited to try out the chick 'n ditch the waffle. My presentation was nice but honestly not what I expected taste wise and I get it, carry out isn't always the best way to experience food! But my chicken was a bit soggy and the biscuit was overcooked, the bottom was a bit burnt which made it tough to enjoy. I gave 4 stars because I enjoyed the "idea" of it but maybe next time I'll dine in and hopefully get a better experience. We were traveling and visited Biscuit Belly the day before in Lexington and loved it so much that we came back one last time before leaving so we could try more items from the menu. Most of the food was great, but the side of breakfast sausage was extremely overcooked and rubbery. The biggest disappointment, however, was the parking situation. The lot behind the restaurant advertises free validation, and we specifically confirmed with a staff member before paying the $25 parking fee that validation was available. We only parked there because we were told it would be validated -- we never would have paid $25 for about 30 minutes of parking otherwise. When we later asked to have it validated while ordering, we were told they do validate, but it was "not working" and that it was not their problem since we had already paid. It was frustrating to be misinformed and then dismissed when asking about something that directly impacted our visit. Better communication and more considerate customer service would have made a big difference. read more

We arrived during "Happy Hour" but unfortunately it was not explained to us ( or we would have ordered more). The girl at the register was training. I settled on the Rockwell and I noticed if you signed up for the app you get an order of their bonuts for free! With the Rockwell and an orange juice my meal came to less than $15. Such a steal! The Rockwell which is a biscuit split with fried chicken, cheddar cheese and gravy poured on top, was flavorful and filling. The bonuts were a great sweet treat and I loved that jam. I'm a big, big breakfast fan and to me it's one thing I look forward to on a daily basis. I'm always looking for a new breakfast type of restaurant and Biscuit Belly in the Nuuk area of Louisville hits that spot pretty dang well. They have a very decently sized menu that can feel a bit overwhelming at first and especially based on how hungry you are. Biscuit Belly's main attraction are their various biscuit sandwiches which are loaded with various degrees of toppings. There are also a selection of lunch options to choose from such as their Mean Green BLT or the Brisky Business sandwich. On this particular visit, I decided to try their famous Rockwell Supreme which has fried buttermilk chicken breast, cheddar, goeta, an over easy egg, sausage gravy and bacon. I also ordered their loaded breakfast tots which are stuffed with bacon and cheddar and served with their sweet maple mayo sauce. I also decided to try their special iced chocolate covered strawberry mocha coffee (which you can also order hot). Presentation is definitely something that Biscuit Belly's excels in as the Rockwell Supreme came on a heart shaped biscuit (it's February so it's just after Valentines Day) and which a knife in the middle of the heart which I thought was an awesome touch. This sandwich is quite tasty and is one that I recommend using a fork and knife to eat. The eggs were absolutely just right and the biscuit was as fluffy as ever. The chicken wasn't dry at all and seemed to be cooked perfectly. The loaded breakfast tots of which you'll receive four were the perfect size and the sweet maple mayo sauce pairs quite nicely with them. The iced chocolate covered strawberry mocha did need a bit of stirring as it was still warm at the bottom but even so tasted great and wasn't too overly sweet. The service here is one in which you'll get a number and you'll sit at a table and wait for your food. They have very adequate service as my wife and I didn't have to wait very long at all for our food. As far as the environment of Biscuit Belly's goes it's very welcoming and one that is very relaxed and not at all loud or overpowering with the music with plenty of places to sit. Overall I highly recommend checking out Biscuit Belly, even if biscuits are not necessarily your cup of tea when it comes to breakfast they do have quite a few other options for your to enjoy and I believe your mouth will thank you for doing so. read more

Ordered the 'Gravy train' with the mini biscuits that had samples of each gravy; including sausage, mushroom, & smoked gouda mornay. Mini biscuits were ehh and kinda hard, but the gravies were VERY good and each had a unique flavor. Honestly, any dish that has any of those 3 gravies on it is definitely worth it, and I would try one of the fried chicken sandwiches next time. Staff were all very friendly and the place was clean. Also they have Tractor fountain drinks, which sounds random that I'm even calling it out, but they were mad good and are a more organic soda.
