From the outside, this place looks like a normal house in the Highlands of Louisville, which honestly adds to its charm. You enter from the back, and right away the staff greeted us warmly. We had a party of four and were seated quickly. The inside was beautiful with a great atmosphere definitely a cozy and welcoming vibe. Our server came to us in under a minute very fast, professional, and attentive. I ordered the cinnamon roll as an appetizer, and for my main breakfast I had the banana bread French toast, biscuits with eggs and cheese, and orange juice. The orange juice was amazing super fresh, natural, and sweet. The cinnamon roll was good (not the best I've ever had, but still enjoyable). The food overall was solid. The banana bread French toast was really good, the eggs were cooked well, and the biscuits and gravy were also very tasty. On the downside, one of the plates came out a little dirty, which wasn't great to see. Other than that, the place itself was clean, the staff was friendly, and the experience was enjoyable overall. We went to Morning Fork for brunch and I was disappointed. It's an interesting location, in an old house that's been turned into a brunch spot. The server started out fine but as the day progressed it got worse. I ordered the scramble which was scrambled eggs with onions, mushrooms, peppers, and spinach and goat cheese. It comes with a side of potatoes, I was given cold potatoes, but they did bring out fresh ones after I spoke up. My friends ordered the corned beef hash and said it was oily but good. When we were ready to leave we had to wait for our server for about thirty minutes before we could get the check all while they say there's have a time limit on how long you can be there based off your party size. I can't say that I'll go back here and I don't think it was worth the price to be honest. read more

First time eating at Morning Fork, and we had a great experience. We were able to make reservations online the same day, which I highly recommend. The restaurant has a back parking lot and on street parking - the restaurant is quite large with two indoor seating areas and outdoor patio seating. The menu is large with a big brunch menu, lunch and entree options and kid's menu. We started with the s'mores hot chocolate and apple cider mimosas. The hot chocolate was pipping hot and delicious topped with toasted marshmallows. The apple cider mimosas had a weird flavor, I would recommend going with another fruit juice option. We ordered the kids buttered noodles with waffle on the side - big wide noodles that were swimming in butter. My son thought it was too much butter but loved the type of noodles. The waffle was good - not very sweet but he enjoyed it. My daughter loved the chicken and waffles entree, but I thought the portion was a bit small for an adult entree. The chicken was freshly breaded but the waffle was on the smaller side. The sandwiches and soups were delicious - we had the club which was filled with ham and turkey and the perfect amount of mayo. The tomato soup was creamy and so satisfying. The Ruben was a good size and stuffed with corned beef and melty cheese! Overall we had a great experience- a bit on the pricey side. Another good breakfast at Morning Fork!!! We had the breakfast sandwich with chicken sausage instead of the bacon, and the corned beef hash with hash browns instead of sweet potatoes, and no Bernaise sauce. They get busy quick and since we didn't have a reservation we ended up sitting at the bar, where we had the wonderful bartender Hildy wait on us. Then pace is small but cozy, and not too small where it fills like you're on top of each other. The food here is always good, and they have a different them every month. Problems are going to happen, but we expect them to be corrected. The manager here refused to apologize for or correct the problemS with our charges. We ordered bloody marys with gin instead of vodka and were upcharged $20 without being told. That's $36 for 2 bloody marys. We ordered the special crab cake benedict and one of them was wonderful. The second had basically a hard boiled egg on it. We were charged for the egg recook that was not brought until the rest of the dish was cold. We had to ask twice to speak to a manager about our incorrect bill, and the manager told us why everything had been done the way it was with no apology. We had a great breakfast here! I first got a taste of Morning Fork at the Gravy Cup and I couldn't wait to try out their full menu! It was a grey day but still nice enough to eat outside and be seated right away. I never go for a sweet breakfast option, but the server's emphatic recommendation of the French toast swayed me. This was an amazing decision, especially with my husband ordering the corned beef hash. We really got the best of both worlds. Our waitress was amazing but the manager/owner of this establishment is rude, unethical & churlish. The food was overpriced with no true flavor & small portions for the price. The restaurant was pretty empty but it still took forever to get our food & our orders weren't correct. Stopped in for brunch before heading to the bourbon and beyond festival and we're pleasantly surprised by their cocktails and food. The gents did a flight of Weller and the ladies had mimosas, which were delicious. The cinnamon roll as an app was spot on, warm and soft and the frosting was cream cheese based perfection. We had various dishes, breakfast sandwiches and club sandwiches all were great. The only thing that was a miss was the sweet potato hash browns- just not to our liking but others may enjoy. So my wife and I tried the hot browns and I want to complement the amount of sauce was good. I get a lot of low sauce ones and it's a pretty good size pan of food. The biscuit would've been a little drying off but the amount of sauce on top of it, balanced that out I understand their choice of pulled chicken over turkey because I don't think there's much else on the menu. They use the turkey for the bacon and I didn't like too much. It was a little too tough big chunks. Didn't really melt in your mouth the tomato jam was delicious. I gave most of it to my wife cause I don't usually I like tomatoes too much, but this was tan and sweet and had a good flavor. My son could not handle the cornmeal pancake didn't like texture not my favorite thing either, but I'll end up eating that one later.. the main thing is that right now they do have vouchers on Kentucky and a deals where you can get $50 with the food for 25 cause I would normally never eat her at full price so as long as that deals going on I'd say it's not about that bad idea to try something and they have a few other things. The food isn't all that great but they're banana bread. French toast is amazing. They also charged you 25% extra when you use a card (22% gratuity 3% card fee) which is very distasteful so I won't be back. read more

We visited morning Fork while in Louisville, Kentucky. We decided to go for brunch where we enjoyed some delicious mimosas. I got an apple cider mimosa special, which I thought was very unique and I've never seen before and perfect for a touch of fall. It tasted good and I thought it was exceptionally nice that they didn't charge more for apple cider instead of the standard orange juice. I got a gravy and biscuit bowl with an over medium egg on top which I thought was savory and gooey delicious. My husband got a maple bacon breakfast sandwich. I also got a side of garlic butter grits which I expected to be exploding with flavor, unfortunately, it wasn't exactly that, but they were still good. The hashbrowns were very unique and I've never seen them prepared that way before and I also thought they very good, especially considering the crunchy contrast of the outside compared to the warm soft potato inside. We decided to enjoy this lovely morning outside where it was peaceful and we were able to bring our dogs which is always a plus. Service was fast and friendly and attentive, not only to us, but also to our dogs. They did also mention that it's very common for people to order their dog food off the menu as well which I thought was a super awesome option for dog lovers. My wife opted for the MF'n Breakfast Sandwich consisting of Over Hard Fried Eggs, Crispy Candied Bacon, Avocado, Blackberry Jam and White Cheddar Cheese on Toasted Hawaiian Bread with a side of Fresh Fruit. It is one of the best breakfast options there is in Louisville, It's the ultimate sweet and savory breakfast favorite. If you would like the Bloody Mary for breakfast the House made version with Bacon salt and Wheatley Vodka is a true work of art. This place also has a full menu that is served from 7 am to 3 pm Wednesday thru Sunday. We also to tried the house made chili, totally unique and delicious. We came for their themed brunch (Star Wars week!) and had an awesome experience. The menu was creative and fun without feeling gimmicky--the food was actually delicious and super well-executed. Service was great across the board, and the staff was friendly and on top of everything. The owner, Geoffrey Heyde, even came by to check in on us, which was a nice personal touch. You can tell he cares about the experience. They do these special themed menus for one week each month, and now we want to come back just to see what they come up with next. This place was great for our large group! They offered breakfast and lunch items that appealed to everyone in our party which was nice. Our server was AMAZING! I wish I remembered his name. He was so personable and chatted with us about items on the menu and things to do in the area. We ordered everything from burgers to salads to soups to sandwiches to bloody marys to soda to juice to iced tea. The burgers were really enjoyed by the kids. The grilled cheese and tomato soup was also tasty. The hit was the chicken salad. We ordered it on the wheatberry bread while one of four guests ordered it on gluten free bread. All was going well and dandy. When the food came out, someone helped our server bring out the food and we asked her if the food placed in front of the gluten free guest was gluten free bread and she said Yes! However, while eating, I noticed that the bread on my gluten sandwich was identical to the bread on the gluten free sandwich. When we asked our server, he said Oh no that the gluten free person was given and had now eaten some of the gluten bread. We did ask before he ate it! A note to the staff--PLEASE train all staff on why knowing what is and is not gluten free is important and do not let someone help who is unsure or at least tell them to ASK! I don't like leaving poor reviews but Morning Fork really needs to improve on customer experience, hospitality, and value for money. We had a reservation for brunch for a group of 6 and were really excited for a nice meal together. After 1 hour and 15 minutes, the manager came over and asked us to leave because they needed our table for the next reservation that was starting. The manager was not apologetic about it and the whole encounter was unprofessional for a business to treat their customers. We were rushed out the door as soon as we got checks, and it ended our brunch on a very sour note. They need to do a better job of planning their reservations here. The food is also overpriced, underwhelming, and the atmosphere does not match the price point. By comparison, Bar Vetti and Le Moo offer similar pricing for their brunch yet provide a significantly nicer atmosphere and dining experience than Morning Fork, as well as better food quality. Unless they make improvements, I don't foresee this establishment lasting long. I added an extra star because the server was awesome and very friendly. read more

Well if I was just reviewing the food I would want to give them 10 stars. I was with 3 other people and everything from the biscuit and gravy to the corn beef was fabulous . We even had a cinnamon bun roll as an appetizer and it was amazing... But we all know food is what draws us to a place but service makes the experience complete. As my party waited 15 min beyond our reservation time, which is no big deal, as we waited another 15 for a server to approach our table I was already thinking about my yelp review. I was not happy with the service starting out and I could not understand the delays since most of the tables in my area were empty. So I started looking around and paying attention to what was happening around me. I soon found out that the servers, even though they did not smile or make eye contact with the patrons were not at fault. It was easy to see that the manager/ greeter was causing the issues. There were no communications between the front of the house and the servers. The person who seemed to be in charge was more interested in talking to people about alternative societies and mushroom churches. Now I have no idea what those two things are nor do I care. What I did care about was how the patrons and the waitstaff were being treated. I do not know if this was a one off thing or happens a lot. I know if the food had not been so good they would be getting 2 stars or worse. I am giving 3 stars only because the food was so good. I will be back. The food is that good . He got the breakfast platter with eggs, toast, and bacon. I got the Nutella crepes. Both were good, but we also agreed both were overpriced considering the serving size and overall quality. My crepes were good but $14 for just the crepes with no side. My boyfriend enjoyed his breakfast, although not the biggest fan of the bacon, but such a simple breakfast for $18 also just seemed shocking. The place itself is beautiful and fun, and everyone working was super kind and accommodating, I'm just not sure if we'd come again due to the contrast in price and quality. Awesome little place for breakfast and brunch! My husband and I stopped in here with my parents around 9:30 on a Sunday and I was surprised to find that it wasn't packed. We didn't have a reservation but we were able to be seated right away. Our waitress, Ellie, was fantastic. She was so engaging and warm and she made me smile which I greatly appreciated. I wasn't all that hungry so I chose to have a piece of banana bread and a cup of fruit. Seems simple but that banana bread was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend. My husband had the skillet, my mom had the scramble, and my dad had the breakfast sandwich. We all loved what we had. So the parking wasn't that great.... Let's get that out of the way. So may or may not be in a Tow zone right now... but the spot is small and quaint with indoor, outdoor and bar seating. I was greeted immediately upon entering and was seated at the bar. I ordered the French toast, chicken sausage and 2 eggs with a double mimosa. I should have known that the French toast was going to be a lot because the waiter asked if i wanted to order it a la carte and I declined (big mistake). The portion was plentiful and everything was exquisite!!! Couldn't asked for a better solo brunch spot. The food was great and the mimosa was on point? I'll def try to make this at home, would be great for brunch at home. For my meal, I ordered the cornmeal pancakes with almonds. Ok so the food came out in a nice time, I'm not gonna lie, the pancakes are different, not bad but different and if you're not used to the taste of cornmeal I'd definitely not recommend. Would I order again? Yea but not the meal maybe one on the side they are Huge! The bacon and the potatoes were really good, I liked the spice on the potatoes. Went for brunch with family. Had a reservation. We were seated on time. Our waitress was attentive. However. The kitchen seemed to be a mess. Out of four orders two were wrong. The veggie burrito came with meat in it. Since I don't eat pork, I had to ask for it to be remade. Once out, the flavor was bland. There were no spices inside. My dad ordered fried eggs with meal and it came out with scrambled. Also had to be corrected. Overall the cost vs value isn't there. Each meal was right around d $20.
