This used to be one of my favorite places for a quick, healthier meal, but unfortunately my recent visit was very disappointing. I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Quesadilla to go. It was served hot, but there was so little grilled chicken that I could barely find or taste it. It ended up tasting more like a plain cheese quesadilla than the menu item I ordered. The last time I visited, less than a year ago, the quesadillas were flavorful and you could clearly taste all of the fresh ingredients. That was definitely not the case this time. Another thing I noticed was how empty the restaurant was. This location used to be busy almost every time I visited, but during this visit there were only three customers, including me. My chicken "pitaco" was not good Usually when I get food from any TP (sandy springs Roswell rd is my favorite -drive is just as long as this one but worth it) this time is was not- chunks of chicken one tomato and some hard melted cheese. I picked wrong on this busy day. I don't like how they line the food up along the silver station. Seems unsanitary. Should be some type of space especially for wrapping and handling food. My drink was ok. Toooo much ice I think but hey I wanted to go so I had to deal with it It was crowded. The staff was rushing and trying to keep up. I applause them for that Maybe have all staff where hair nets and change out gloves in between if all possible. I know we can't eliminate every germ but yikes. I want to give a special shout out to one of the employees, Cameron. Thank you. I hope they make you a manager because you are more of a professional than the actual manager. Caution to those who use the mobile app for promotions, make sure you read the fine print and don't take the word of the manager to heart. For someone who has never had tropical smoothie before, I appreciate the level of service their employees show. Maybe the managers could learn something from them. I have been to this location many times as I live down the street. I have not had a single positive experience in regards to their customer service. Their employees work with head phones in listening to music. I have never once been acknowledged when walking in even if I have been the only customer there. I have had to wave down an employee to ask for help with my order as if standing at the counter & making eye contact wasn't a hint that I need help. have been handed my order and said thank you and met with no response numerous times. I thought maybe it was just a one time thing at first but this has become an every time experience. TERRIBLE !!!! Extremely poor customer service !!! There were more workers than customers and it took them 20 minutes to make 1 smoothie !!! There were 4 young African-American female workers that were mostly talking and laughing amongst each other as I stood there waiting for 1 smoothie. One girl was stocking the area, another went to the back area to talk loud and laugh, the worker that rang up my order in the register put gloves on to fix the smoothie in the blender but never poured to give it to me. I also wish I could give zero stars for this location. It used to be good here. Not sure what has happened. Two weeks ago I had ordered online for pickup at 12:36 (this was their time promised). I walk out of the store with product at 12:56. My wraps were sitting there ready. But not my smoothies. They had just one person doing smoothies. Wasn't happy that my sandwiches sat out for a long time while waiting on smoothies. Today was worse. There was a dead bird right outside the door. I should have walked away then. My smoothie was only 80 percent full. Plus the cup was damaged at the top. They just stared at me when I pointed it out. So one girl instructs the other to pour the smoothie in another cup. Thanks, but that doesn't solve the problem of being 20 percent short in my cup. They finally offered a remake, but stated they were out of Splenda. I took my drink and told them I wouldn't ever come back. I arrive at home at least looking forward to my chicken bacon ranch flatbread. But when I open it up, I found bananas and mush inside the flatbread. The ticket had chicken bacon ranch taped to the flatbread. How did this get messed up? I contacted their corporate number and filed a complaint. Then I called this location to request a refund. The girl answers "Hello" instead of the business name. This morning I was motivated to healthy foods, so I stopped in for a banana peanut butter flatbread and smoothie. Still, I was immediately overwhelmed when the young lady handled the register, money, and receipts. Then immediately started making the smoothie, but I managed to stop her because I was completely turned off. She stopped and said she would wash her hands, but the damage was already done, and I'd seen too much. I wouldn't be able to eat anything from her because I know she doesn't wash her hands or wear gloves. It's a mental or psychological level of cleanliness for me. I told her no and just to refund my money because I couldn't swallow this pill she was trying to give me. The guy making the flatbread was strictly behind the cook station and put on gloves, I didn't have an issue with that, and I felt safe with him making the food. It seems as though he was taking caution and care of handling food someone would eat. Is it an unconsunconscious behavior to NOT wash hands and manage the register to food? That it's just normal to everyone but me?! I'm confused. To have retail and restaurants mishandle food so openly is it that retail business is odd to me. Has everyone thrown all guidelines out the window during the pandemic? Hand washing and wearing gloves from behind the counter to touching foods or items that will be ingested are guidelines within the Food & Drug Administration code and for the sustainability of cleanliness and food safety. Significant germs are continuously spreading, and they still don't know why not have cures, but washing hands can be a preventative method. I love Tropical Smoothie Cafe but I just stopped at this location on a Sunday (just now around 530pm) and stood at the counter with my husband for over 5 minutes without even being acknowledged. No "hi, we'll be right with you" or even a "hello" for that matter. There was no one else in line. NO ONE. There were 3 people inside waiting for their orders. 2 of the 3 were given their orders. The worker had to walk past us to give them their food and AGAIN... It was like we were transparent. So needless to say we left. No they didn't try to stop us or say anything. I can't speak for all of their smoothies or food items, but the Sunrise Sunset smoothie is freakin' DELICIOUS! I just recently discovered it within the past month or so and have already gone back several times for the same smoothie- it's consistently delicious each time! I've only gone here a couple of times, but I must say I love this place. The smoothies are amazing with fresh fruit that is full of flavor! I ordered a smoothie with kale, spinach, peaches, strawberries, and pineapples and when I was done I wanted to go back for another one even though their smoothies are nice size portions. Every time I've came to get a smoothie, I've been at the register for log periods of time - close to 15 minutes with people walking by. I'm craving one right now!!!! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I tried calling them at the telephone number given here & on google and that isn't their number at all. So if you have any questions or concerns about your order you'd be out of luck. I never have an issue with this Tropical Smoothie location-the appearance, the staff, the smoothies but today I did have an issue with their preparation of the Cajun Shrimp Salad or as I called it the "Not Enough of Anything Escept Lettuce' salad! I placed an online pickup order and when I returned to my office I was disappointed to find that the Cajun Shrimp salad consisted of a full bowl of shredded lettuce, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, a sprinkle of "dirty rice" (the rice appeared more brown than dirty), a slice of tomato cut in half and six medium shrimp. The tastiest thing about the salad was the cajun dressing but there wasn't enough of that to properly "dress" the salad. I was just so very disappointed because the ad for the salad promised so much more and I felt there was not a level of value for the price paid. Hopefully this was a fluke!
