TSC has been open for a bit now ... I do not know for sure, but I would be willing to say three months? Went through the drive-through today, getting in line two cars behind the one at the speaker. 10 minutes went by and one car moved up ... and we thought - "hey, why wait for the speaker, let's order online". So the three of us selected our 5 items, 4 side items and 2 smoothies while waiting, set-up a TSC account and of course payment details, and ordered. We received a email indication it would be ready in 16 minutes (3:12pm). Three minutes later, we moved to the speaker. We were greeted immediately with something like welcome to TSC, we will give you a minute to look at our menu. So, we waited another minute or two and someone asked if they could take our order - we indicated we had ordered online, and we were asked to pull ahead - which we did. We arrived at the window at 3:08pm (4 minutes early) and we could see our order being assembled on the back table. The window opened and the person tried to hand us someone else's order and charge us for it as well. I get it ... rookie mistake and I guess forgot or didn't use a "system marker" to establish we were a drive through pick-up order. So, at 3:11pm the window opens again, and our order is presented to us in a bag and a cup carrier - which is GREAT! The order was correct - even better!! When we got home the order was warm/cold - as it should be!!! We ordered a child's chocolate/banana smoothie, a sunrise smoothie, a couple of kids turkey/cheese, a grilled cheese/chicken quesadilla, a bacon breakfast wrap and a chicken pesto sandwich ... these items coming with 3x bananas and 1x jalapeno corn. Food was very tasty, well packaged, individually labeled, fresh and of good quality/taste. Very nicely done! Thinking on the timeframe a little more - had we not got a 19-22 minute head start on the drive-through ordering ... this would have been @ 45 minutes from the time we approached the drive through line until the order was received! That seems excessive enough to perhaps rate only 3 stars vs 4 stars. But ... we could see folks hustling inside, working together etc. So, this could still be working out the details or perhaps they were short-handed ... dunno. We did enjoy the food and the portion of the inside (as well as the outside) that we could see appeared to be clean and organized. Folks were friendly, even it a little hurried. 4 stars it is. Besides - it now 5pm and it appears it is going to rain - for like the 1st time in 6 weeks! So hurrah and IF going to Tropical Smoothie Cafe today in Midlothian and becoming the 1st Yelp reviewer had anything to do with it ... we will go three times tomorrow. read more

My door dash order was stolen today in the last hour from this establishment. The manager refused to make a new smoothie for the real dasher present as they said my order left 15 min before. So I called to speak with them myself and explain there must be a mistake. I'm sick, I have a fever and I have zero patience as a result to be told it's not their problem and to take it up with Door Dash who is the third party. Guess what Tropical Smoothie with poor service resolution skills, anyone can walk up to your counter and say a name that is on your smoothie label right where they pick up at. It would be your job to confirm if indeed you want to be successful with DoorDash.
