I love that we have those location close to my house, but recently the service has dwindled. Ordered online today and arrived a couple minutes b4 the app said it would be ready. Walked in and there was a lot of customers waiting on their orders. The 3 individuals behind the counter were working diligently. I stood near the shelf for the online orders and waited. The shelf is right by the counter to order, but noone asked acknowledged me or asked if I needed assistance. It didn't really bother me initially, because I was about 3 minutes early and saw they had a lot of people waiting. A family came in and the man stood at the counter patiently for a while and was not acknowledged. The young lady preparing the online orders placed a few orders on the shelf before walking over with what looked like mine. As ashe got closer I asked if the name was mine, and she just handed me the bag, cup & straw without saying anything. No nodding of the head, no yes, no have a good day, nothing even after I said " Thank you". The time prior to that they were having loud personal conversations while customers were there, which I didn't was appropriate. Also, my acai bowl was missing an item, but I didn't notice until I got home and didn't have the energy at that time of evening to go back or even call. Probably one of my favorite regular go to places, but definitely not today. There are 6 people working here and they are all talking and laughing. I've been standing here waiting for my order for about 10 minutes and in that time, I've seen someone on the phone, 2 others talking and laughing so loud behind the counter, and another talking to an employee from another restaurant. Two other employees have now clocked out and left. I finally went to the counter and someone came up to me and I was asked if I could be helped. I said I ordered smoothies on the app and then he started pulling tickets off a printer. Three tickets came out. Two of them were mine. He made them immediately, but with that many employees standing around, none of the customers in the lobby area should have had to wait. Pretty disappointed in today's visit. read more

If I could give it a zero, I would. My son and I walked in to order a smoothie and the two ladies working completely ignored us for three or four minutes while they had a conversation, no greeting, nothing. We turned to walk out and one of the women yelled "ma'am did you wanna order" I said that we did but we had stood there for minutes being ignored with no one else in the store so we would leave them to finish their conversation. The lady identified herself as the manager and instead of being gracious yelled at us to get out. She was so incredibly rude that we were shaken. I can in no way recommend this place. 5 people working could not handle the lunch crowd on a Sunday. I had already received my CAESAR wrap with no dressing to learn they were out of Caesar dressing. Okay, many are out of things now. I can understand that though it would have been good to know. Okay so then can I have a side of ranch? 5 min later as I watch more orders taken and made, I asked again for the ranch and was told by the girl behind the counter "Can't you see we are busy?" While all of her coworkers smiled and chuckled. How about you take care of the customers that have ALREADY paid? That would be a much better business. I absolutely love coming to this café not only is the staff super friendly they're very clean! When you walk in they have a station for you to clean your hands masks are required when you walk in they absolutely do an amazing job even when they are super packed they do give you rewards as you purchase food or smoothies you gain points and you get five dollar rewards this is definitely a great atmosphere to enjoy a smoothie you can actually sit down and eat there is social distancing! You can have super healthy food! You don't have to worry about counting the calories it's all already there in the menu for you they make it very easy and very accessible for you to know what you're eating what ingredients are going into your smoothies and into your food this café by all means it's probably one of the best cafés not only is the location on point the staff is amazing the service is quick it's great food very tasteful it is by far hands-down the best smoothie Café I have been to in a long time there is another one on Rivers Avenue I don't suggest you go to that one I would definitely go to the one here in Dorchester they have definitely the best staff smiles on their face and like I said even in a crunch they will get your food hot and on time!!! I was so excited to see that this location was finally open! I always use the mobile app to order ahead. Once I walked in, I noticed that the store was very organized and clean. My smoothie was waiting for me on the counter. I ordered the sunrise sunset and it was delicious as always. Take note that they are only allowing take out and delivery. I have placed an order over the phone to be delivered to my hotel. I never got my order. In fact, I ordered three times today and I got to tropical smoothie's and that was it. They were not very good. I'm a diabetic remind me to eat the manager, Gray is very good. He's very nice and tries to do everything right. But I have to tell you I feel pretty bad being a diabetic and not being able to eat. I waited on them all day as I try to as I have seen it today, I paid for the meals and Got nothing. The one girl that showed up only brought two smoothies. Otherwise she was useless and not very friendly at all. How can I take from 11 o'clock in the morning to 5 PM to deliver only two smoothies and none of the sandwiches. I ordered three times paid three times and got nothing. I would not want her to deliver me anything again. Would seem to me that she is the type of person that would spit in a persons food. Anyway, aside from the manager Gray, The store is terrible. And on top of that. Another thing this side of town is really a terrible side of town. It's dangerous. The people that live here as soon as I can I want to move very far away from here. Now I come from New York, and I thought things were bad in the old days with robberies thievery, but I have to say that North Charleston is a nightmare. It may look pretty now but it is not. It's dangerous. There's gunshots to go off every day and it's really very sad. The only place that I actually feel safe on this side of town is going to ATP Gun Shop Where I learned how to use a gun for protection and I have never had to pointed at anyone. I know I'm in a couple extra stores here but we are living in crazy times right now. This is 2022 is very sad I thought that moving down south, there would be some peace and quiet and country lands like it was when I was a child back on Long Island in New York. That is ruined also. Anyway, getting back to Tropical smoothie Café if you're looking to get a good smoothie, I just wanna say when it's good it's good and when it's bad and the service is bad, it's god awful. They really have a good product, but they can't get it together at this location. I ordered two smoothies through the app. Arrived at the store 10 minutes after ordering. Had to wait 20 minutes to get first one then another ten minutes for the second. I got the detox island green and paid an extra $1 for added ginger. There's zero ginger in it. You can taste it easy when it's in there. I also have HUGE ice chunks blocking the straw which means they didn't blend it correctly. When you drop this much $ on a smoothie, you expect it to be right. The young people working there were very nice, but nobody experienced was there. The seasonal food and drink items change every 3 months - so make sure to get the seasonal items before their gone! The staff is friendly and you always get a refund/replacement for an order that doesn't turn out as expected. Curbside service is essential for busybodies and the online ordering is easy but takes awhile to get your order. As a previous employee, the staff treated me as family and I enjoyed serving people to the best of my ability. However, the customer service aspect of this store can be subpar. Sometimes people would not be asked if they were waiting on an order, or even argued with. Overall, it's a great place to get a quick bite or drink, and the inside of the store is open. Just make sure your willing to wait a bit to be served. Covid protocols include staff wearing masks and a stationary hand sanitizer by the door. Ordered a smoothie from the Summerville, SC store at 7:30am after making sure they were open. The door and website said 7am. Made my order tried to walk in and the door was locked. Another customer came by and said they were closed and told they would remain closed until the till was counted. I sat for a few minutes and waited to a point where I could not any longer I need to go to work. I called and told the person who answered the phone that I lost my free smoothie I am sure but I would like a refund on the actual money I spent. Just looked do not see a refund yet.
