We've been coming here since they opened. Employees are always nice. They handle crowds pretty well too. The food the last couple times has not been like it always has. The scrambled eggs are just a giant flat egg folded up. Like poured on the grill and flipped like a pancake. Scrambled eggs do not taste good like that. They are supposed to be fluffy and scrambled. I tried the strawberry pancakes today and they tasted really good but they were smaller and thinner than they used to be. I used to could barely eat one now they just seem much smaller now. The food was delicious, with lots of well balanced flavor. My only complaint here was that the potatoes were very undercooked, and felt almost raw. The chicken was very well marinated and seasoned though, so it balanced out. Our party of 10 was seated and fed quickly, and everyone enjoyed their meal, some more than others. There are a bunch of fun canvas posters/signs on the walls and everything feels very warm. We'll probably be visiting the one back in Conroe at some point. read more

Father's Day Breakfast for 4 We were in South Carolina for a family event when my family surprised me with breakfast at Eggs Up Grill. As we pulled in, we noticed a large shared parking lot, so finding a spot was quick and easy. We made our way over, and Wifey let the host know we preferred a table for four--of course, we were hoping to sit outside. The host mentioned there'd be about a 25-minute wait for outdoor seating. Wifey gave her phone number to get the text notification, and we decided to wait it out just outside the entrance. About 20 minutes later, the host came back out calling names. At first, she said there were still three or four parties ahead of us, but then paused and asked, "Are you waiting for outside seating? Because we actually have a table ready now." It threw us off a little since that's what we'd originally asked for--but we didn't make a big deal of it. We followed her to the outdoor area, which was a mix of picnic tables with umbrellas and additional seating under a large tent. It looked like they added extra tables outside for Father's Day. We picked a nice sized table under the tent. As soon as we sat down, menus were brought over. We glanced through them quickly and placed our drink orders. The menu had a ton of options, with something for everyone. They even had a small section of specialty coffees. I ordered a hot Cafe Mocha, and Wifey went with a regular coffee and the girls ordered a couple of juices. For our entrées, Wifey and I both went with the Crème Brûlée French Toast. Our oldest daughter chose the Caramel Apple Crisp pancakes with a side of bacon, and our youngest decided to build her own plate: scrambled eggs, grits, bacon, and toast. Despite the Father's Day crowd, the food came out surprisingly fast. Everything looked great--and tasted even better. We all dove in so quickly that I ended up taking pictures of our food after everyone had already started picking at their plates. Everyone was really happy with what they ordered. Especially those with chocolate chips, not too sweet but perfect. Homestead platter was very good. The biscuit was my favorite part. I love that they split and toast it a little. This was my first time at this location after being at the knightsville one and having a great experience every time. We were promptly sat on a Monday lunch time. Restaurant about 1/3 full. We quickly ordered and food arrived promptly and was great. Big portions for the money. My issue was the service was awful. We had to ask for silverware after food was dropped and were not checked on once after food arrived. We also had to ask for water twice and even flag down other servers for assistance. We had to ask for the check then flag her down again to actually pay and she acted like we were an annoyance. The servers were not busy with customers and instead were busy talking. Ordered the Classic and the Grand Classic on a take out order which we verified before we left and found the home fries were missing in the classic. Glad we did because I would have not driven back just for the fries. BTW I was not greatly impressed with the seasonings on the fries but it is just me, nothing wrong with the fries. Eggs were cooked to perfection and the grits in the Grand Classic were as expected Ordered "crispy bacon" but it wasn't really crispy, maybe because of the take out factor where they sat in the Styrofoam until we got to the car. Came here on a Friday morning and the place was packed which in my opinion is a good sign! I came with a larger group and the wait was only 20 minutes, but we were all seated at two separate tables. I ordered the avocado toast and scrambled eggs. It wasn't placed on the plate as advertised in the menu. There was no salsa on the avocado, and my scrambled eggs were rolled up like an omelette. Nothing is preseason which I find is common with breakfast places for the most part. Only salt and pepper on the table as well as ketchup. Overall it was good but nothing special. Our waiter was brand new, and he really did his best, but maybe someone should have been shadowing him. One of the people in my group ordered turkey bacon, but got regular bacon, asked my syrup twice before she got it, the sausage and eggs she ordered were forgotten about, and she didn't get them until we were done eating. A victim of not having any competition​. It is only breakfast place out near Cane Bay so all the blue hairs roll out in their golf carts for this. The smallest portions for two eggs I have ever seen. The omelet​ was ok but the fresh spinach was all wilted since they cooked it down. The avocado (2$ upcharge​) was rock hard, almost inedible. The pancake was burnt a bit. Overall for not being that busy, the ​execution was horrible. Staff was friendly enough. The paucity of hot sauce tells me I am spoiled by the variety in the Emerald​ City. As far as greasy spoon places go, this is top notch! A large menu with something for everyone, lots of sweet, lots of savory to choose from. Service was fast and friendly. Also had the home fries with onions, they were red skin potato chunks and also seasoned good. Husband had a "regulation" breakfast and added the corned beef hash which he described as the best he's ever had. We've already decided we're going back tomorrow before heading back to NC.
