Due to the Omicron variant running rampant here, we ordered curbside to be extra cautious. Have been wanting to try this place out, for sometime but they are spread out in axkward areas in town, ordered the Mango Orange Ginger smoothie, it is very weak tasting, not very good, the place was empty thats never a good sign and to be honest my huge drink was only 3 bucks. I have to say for some reason I do not think of this place as much as I should. All three of my children love going to tropical smoothie and I really learned about it through them. Ordered a chipotle wrap as well as the kale salad and absolutely delicious. All of the wraps and sandwiches are so packed with flavor I get a different thing every time I go and it's always just fantastic. Stop by with my wife for smoothies and lunch. The cafe was pretty full but everyone seemed to already have their food. Our smoothies came out pretty quick and we're excellent. The problem came waiting for our food. Almost everyone had left the cafe so my wife checked on the order. They said they were working on it. After another 10 minutes their was no one else in the cafe and my wife asked again about our food order. The manager said their were other orders ahead of ours but their was no one else in the cafe and there is NO drive-thru. He said their were online orders ahead of ours, even though we had been there for 20 minutes. My wife said we are here now and the online orders can wait until they actually show up. The manager was a real smart ass and said, "Do you want your money back?" My wife said no I just want my food. After another 5 minutes and no food we decided we did want our money back. I went up to the manager and told him we would just prefer to get our money back and go somewhere else for lunch. Our bill was $31 and he said that it s fine. Never once did he offer any apology for our wait. As he was doing the refund I asked if he was the manager. He said, "Yes I am." I asked his name and he said, "My name is Malachi" and then sarcastically spelled it "M-A-L-A-C-H-I". I said you're a smart ass aren't you? He grinned and said I sure am. I said Tropical Smoothie is going to hear about you. He said, "Be my guest." I will never, ever go to Tropical Smoothie Cafe again. No regard for the customer. Somehow this place has become a fave for my family over the past year. I still don't know how they discovered it, except that someone made a trip to the location in Dallas and learned of the Plano store located next to Lifeway store in the strip near Steinmart and Market Street. The shop has a light and open interior often filled with music that makes you think of the Caribbean. Although they have a wide range of smoothies and delicious flatbreads, we seem to have honed in on favorites, like their chicken pesto flatbread. You really can't go wrong with any of the smoothies, which are served in tall narrow Styrofoam cups. A couple of times they have seemed more ice than flavor, but that doesn't stop us from coming back time after time, and compared to the price of Smoothie King these are a bargain. read more

BUT the service and hours continually piss me off, I've been to both this location and the Lewisville/Colony location only to be disappointed that they decided to close early or are not open yet despite their posted hours. Horrible customer service, I was ignored and my order wasn't taken because by the time the cashier got back the store closed. I told him it was fine he didn't have to take my order and then he proceeded to show me his phone to show me the time and tell me again they were closed. My friend ( who was right before me and DID get to order ),and I didn't even make it to the door yet before they turned the lights off on us ( she legit barely got up to grab her drink when they did that) and they had us still locked in . I had to unlock the door for us just so we could get out , then as we were walking out we just heard them laughing at us.
