If I could give 0 stars, I would. after placing an online order, I realized I accidentally ordered 2 smoothies. I could not cancel the order online, so when I got to the store, I asked for a refund. the young girl told me, she couldn't do a refund but she would put my name in the book. Well, I come in today to get the one owed and purchase another one, and the manger is going to tell me, I only had 14 days to get the replacement one. WHATTTT!!! I witness for myself how he spoke to 2 young teenager girls in front of customers. One went in the back and cried. While she was preparing my order . He said hurry. why are you so stupid. ? Got the açai bowl clearly asked for no coconut but they put it on there. The store is too far away to go back, so I just got to eat it unfortunately. Seems like every time I go there when a certain employee is at the register it's always some kind of issue. I ordered this and a wrap ahead of time when I get there, my bowl was done, but my wrap was nowhere to be found. So yeah, when you sign up to receive text alerts, every now and then they will send you texts about discounted smoothies, meals or even freebies for the day. These discounts usually apply to all locations in the 757. This location in particular is super close to my neck of the woods and I have yet to experience any unpleasant visits. If I have to be a stickler, the employees aren't the happiest around, but they do get my order right every time. Therefore, if you are looking for a perky attitude - you may not find it here. Nevertheless, it is always tidy and clean inside this restaurant. I believe they offer $1.00 off 24 oz smoothies from 7am to 10am daily. They also celebrate national flip flop day in June - so be on the look out for the exact date. On this day, you will receive A FREE 24 OZ smoothie!! I believe it's a certain one, but it's FREE!! Get there early because it will be super busy on this day. This location is also among other shops such as: TMobile, Pizza Hut, Beauty shops, Barber Shop, Farm Fresh, WaWa ...it's at least 10 more stores around. The store is also located minutes from I264. There isn't plenty parking, but I have never experience had a time where I couldn't run in and run out without a hassle. Recommend this location - certainly would!! Don't waste your time here. It took me almost an hour to leave with my food and it wasn't even right. I asked for 2 smoothies and a Chicken Caesar Wrap. They called my name and gave me my food. I then waited about 45 minutes for the 2 smoothies. It wasn't until someone asked what I was waiting on that she realized that the 2 smoothies were right in front of her. They weren't even in the fridge; sitting out for who knows how long. I get in my car and it doesn't even taste like what I ordered. The cups weren't labeled either so I couldn't verify and neither could the worker. The smoothies were already melted and watered down. I come home to eat and the wrap that I ordered was some sort of veggie wrap instead of the Chicken Wrap I ordered.. As a food worker, I can empathize if they're busy and remain patient. But after today it was hard to believe everything. The staff lacks organization and routine. When u have teenagers working without adult supervision, something is bound to go wrong. My recent visit there was a bad experience due to the teens being more busy talking and checking their cellphones and as a result, they made me the wrong drink. It wouldn't have been such an issue except that the drink the gave me had bananas in it and it caused my 13yo to go into anaphylaxis shock after she took a drink because she is DEADLY allergic to bananas. Wow where do i start, i my first job was at tropical smoothie almost 10 years ago so I very much know Tropical Smoothies mission is supposed to be to supply great smoothies to their community. Seems this mission was somewhere lost along the time because I spent 12mins on the phone with the manager of this location, where I was told i couldn't receive subs in my Triple Berry Oat for no splenda to avocado & no multi vitamin for peanut butter, two things I've never been denied by ANY tropical smoothie because they are trivial. The fact that I've actually ordered this during the AM discount time and still never been charged is actually unsettling because I see what this location is actually about and its not attending the customer. I actually took the time to explain to said Manager that you guys are the only Tropical Smoothie in the city why would you not accommodate this for a repeat customer to give you the chance of getting good PR via word of mouth just off the fact that you made my smoothie the way I would like it to be. Nevertheless Tropical Smoothies standard have dropped because they are not making "Tropical Smoothies" they are making "Water Mixes" with the amount of ICE & WATER they are adding to the smoothies so the fact that I have to state please make my smoothie without water is ridiculous how about you guys teach people how to make actual FRUIT based smoothies and not just dumping a lay-del of sugar in with PREfrozen fruits and a boat load of water. Tried to sell me a Thai salad without all the publish ingredients in it. No Spinach,no cilantro no sesame seeds and said they sold their salads with the missing ingredients was how they sold their Thai salad. I returned it and was treated badly ,and was only refunded part of my money when I complained the clerk was very rude to me. It made me very nervous and upset ? I could not believe ingredients were missing from their salad and they were selling it as a Thai salad . I feel this business is taking advantage of customers and should no longer be allowed to sell anything under the Tropical Smoothie franchise name. I've been here a couple of times and waited to write my review for a couple of reasons. When going to a place like this that has multiple locations but managed/owned by others, though each place is the same they have their differences and I wanted to see them come to the surface. So what came to the surface was that 7AM is not a good time for the person who needs to open this place. I came here twice this week because the first time the opener was late and had to leave without my breakfast smoothie but was able to talk to the opener and was given the opportunity to get my $1 off my smoothie still if I came back later that day. Gave them another try today, thinking "hey maybe the situation on Monday would make the person opening more mindful to get there on time". Nope, dude was even more late today than in Monday! So almost needless to say, probably not the place to come to if you are looking for a quick stop before work. However, there is a bit of silver lining on this grey cloud, the not so timely opener cranked that smoothie out in short time and it was delicious! On Saturday the 26th of March I went to the Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Portsmouth at Victory Crossing I ordered the Thai Asian Chicken salad the ingredients were not correct I did not have my spinach I did not have cilantro and I did not have sesame seeds when I reported it to the clerk I was told that they never include those ingredients even though they are listed on the menu as the ingredients that should be in the salad. When I asked for a refund I was only given a partial refund the clerk was very mean and nasty I was given a refund of $5.63 the cost of the salad was $6.79 not including the tax in fact I even purchased a smoothie my total bill was $11.24 all I received was $5.63 I will never go to the Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Portsmouth at Victory Crossing again. The clerk decided that she wanted to call the police because she said inappropriate language was being used and told me to leave I never use inappropriate language and I told her that I didn't need to leave until I was ready, at that time she picked up the phone and told me she had to call the police she also told me that if I did not want to take my money I could leave it there, but that was all the money that she could refund me based on her phone call to her supervisor she could not make any decisions on her own this was a great disappointment!!!!! read more
