The Capital Blvd location by the Triangle Towne center always make delicious flavorful smoothies, I always pay for extra banana and peanut butter in my Chia banana boost and it's delicious. Today I went to the location on Wake Forest road right off of the I440 freeway and I was very disappointed with my smoothie it had barely any taste even after paying for extra banana and peanut butter as I usually do. I recently found out about their $5 flat bread + a side and I have been hooked every since. On busier days there is a huge parking lot because it's inside of a shopping center. When I walked into the establishment you couldn't help but notice how busy they were but just as people were coming they were finishing up orders and getting people out. It was lunch time so I am sure this was peak time. They have sitting available both along the walls and at the bar. It did seem a little crowded so I probably wouldn't stay and eat on busier days. I ended up ordering their chipotle chicken wrap and it was DELICIOUS + salt and vinegar chips. It came up to $5.10 which I thought was amazing. I scan my cell phone and it was just that easy. The lady that checked me out was very pleasant, she was very patient with me too. It took about 7 mins for my order to come up and when I got ready to eat it it I was still hot. It has been a while since I visited this Tropical Smoothie, I am just now getting around to writing my review. I know businesses will get busy and have peak hours, however, there must be some type of system in place to navigate through those rushes effectively. It took them well over 30 minutes to get us our food (for two) and smoothies. It was a simple and small order. Once we finally got our food, we could not even enjoy it because there were flies everywhere. The seating is very limited and it is extremely awkward to be seated at a table trying to eat and several strangers are hovering around you waiting to order. Maybe they were short staffed that day, I do not know but I did not have a great experience. Customer service was good as was the smoothies and flatbread. I got lucky because there was only one person ahead of me, so by the time I checked out the menu and figured out what I wanted to try, I was up. (By the time I left, the line was quite long). I'm from Florida, where Tropical Smoothie is king in my opinion, so I'm used to AMAZING customer service when I come into this place, unfortunately that was not what I encountered at this particular location. First off, it was dirty.......the trash was overflowing and the floor was filthy, but there were like 3 or 4 people working, who is the manager and how is this place not clean O_o Second, the cashier didn't greet anyone as we approached her station and she just stared, waiting for you to place your order. All the ingrediants i've had in my drinks have been fresh, and you can't beat the size for the price. Service is also pretty quick, though with only one or two people behind the counter it sometimes gets backed up when there's a rush of people around breakfast or lunch. Every time after that I've ordered on the app on our way Home and I might as well just go in because our food is NEVER ready on time! It's currently 7:55, I prefer food at 7:30 for ASAP and have been waiting since 7:41 when I got here, which was the time it was supposed to be ready. UPDATE: finally asked AGAIN if my food was ready.
