I've been on a smoothie binge lately! Anything I order that has bananas always seems to go overboard in the amount they add because it's one of the cheaper ingredients! To be fair, the Muscle Blaster (Tropical Smoothie) was a mix of 60% Bananas, 40% Strawberries & Whey Protein. The ordering process was so easy online and I even called 5 min. away from the store after submitting the order to make sure they received it. All I did was pickup my smoothies when I arrived with very few people inside while practicing social distancing. They have not allowed indoor dining as of 5/13/2020 due to Covid-19. Chairs were turned upside down on the tables. I thought the 3-4 employees behind the register should've been wearing masks at least while preparing the food as a precaution. .. Their specialty is smoothies, so I usually don't steer away from what they focus on...sandwhiches seem to be on the smaller size for value from reading a previous review. The service is quick, dropped a couple bucks as a Thank You in the Tip jar to show appreciation for these essential workers...this was a bright part of my day as I grabbed an afternoon treat I got for free as part of their giveaway by filling a short survey. 3.5/5 vote for me! read more

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a decent enough place for a quick lunch and a tasty smoothie. This location was clean and quiet, located in a plaza off Memorial Highway just south of Hillsborough Avenue. We wanted a smoothie and light sandwich for lunch after our bike ride at the Upper Tampa Bay Trail. On our way home towards Riverview, we stopped at two places that were both closed. It was 4th of July and coronavirus is still having impacts. Tropical Smoothie Cafe was open so we stopped. We've been before but just for the smoothies. We donned our masked and walked in. A few people were around and all socially distant. No one was seated but you could dine-in if you wanted. One thing that hits you when you walk in is the smell of burnt food. The other location I've been to smelt the exact same way. It must be the machines used to cook sandwiches. It's not the worst but definitely not the most welcoming. I ordered the Sunrise Sunset smoothie. They only come in one size. My fiance ordered one that was green and had a strong banana taste. They were both tasty and filling. We also both ordered the turkey bacon ranch sandwich. We sat down and waited and then waited and waited. After a while, a girl that was waiting for her food before we even walked in asked where her order was. It was just sitting on the back counter in bag. We then figured we would ask about our food too. Ours were also just sitting in a bag on the counter. Communication between the employees wasn't the best. The sandwich was good, the turkey was ok and there was some bacon and lettuce on it. The ranch was a little lacking, it didn't really taste all that strong. The three stars here is perfectly fitting. A-OK food and experience for me. I won't turn down another smoothie from any Tropical Smoothie location. If I'm craving a smoothie, they seem to be about as good as any place really. read more

Finally a great place for me to go that's healthy and tasty close by! They make decent wraps, sandwiches, and flat breads in addition to smoothies (which I have yet to get...). They come in various flavors and meet a good veggie quota so you wont be bored or feel somewhat deprived when trying to eat healthy. One of my favorite sandwiches is their turkey bacon ranch with side of kale slaw. The bread is soft and chewy and it has ample amount of carved turkey with bacon for an added dimension of flavor. The apple slaw is on the creamy side and I love how the apples add a sweet crunch to the flavor. The service here is pretty fast and efficient even in the face of the pandemic, so its nice to know I dont have to settle for eating terrible everyday even though options are a bit more limited in these uncertain times. read more

This place is close by to our house so we stop by on occasion. Every single time we have came in here the staff never speaks or greets you. They stare at you until you order. Not even a "how can I help you or what would you like?" Then today I go in to order and they completely left out my food order. Came here a few days ago to find something healthy to drink alternatively to water and Gatorade since I had the flu. Ended up getting the triple berry oat smoothie as well as the chicken caprese sandwich. Not sure if the sandwich was right for me since I was sick but it definitely tasted fantastic. Everything that is put together compliments each other for a smooth rich taste. As for the smoothie, it was the highlight. Never had anything that had cranberry and blueberries mixed together drink wise but it turned out better than expected. Definitely recommend coming here. Ladies helping us were extremely nice in letting us take our time deciding what we wanted. read more

This location is a disaster. People come and go like crazy, every time I go there is new people working. I have never had a positive experience at this tropical smoothie. Either they make your smoothie wrong or the cheese on your flatbread isn't even melted or they forget your side. My last experience the cashier didn't even understand English. I scanned by $5 rewards from the app and it didn't apply to my order so i lost my reward, I told them about this and they refunded me in cash instead of my card and then forgot to give me my new receipt so I could scan that one for rewards. The food is really delicious but the price they charge is for an adult portion size. There's many kids meals bigger than the portions I received. That makes how it delicious it is disappointing. It really leaves you wanting more. There was an option to make it large instead of baby size. The quality, the taste it's all there, unfortunately the portion size isn't. My eight year old son was still hungry after eating his sandwich. Please start offering a larger portion even if I have to pay for it. read more

I unfortunately had a poor experience with the my food from here. I have not been eating meat for years now and was excited to see they offered beyond meat on their menu. I requested the beyond meat with no cheese on my wrap but it came out with the complete opposite. Knowing beyond meat can be similar to chicken, I gave it a try until I saw the cheese and a nice fatty piece of actual chicken. :( May not return to this location. read more

I'm all for teens working and learning what hard labor and working for your own things should be like, BUT with that comes good work ethic and some hustle. The staff here has NONE of that. I ordered an online order that was supposed to be ready by 1:12, the girls here didnt start it till then. There was also a LINE of online orders waiting and these workers were just...so...slow. Stopping by from out of town to one of our favorite places and in comparison to the Tropical Smoothie by our house, this place is leaps and bounds better!!! Clean shop, we were greeted upon entry and one of the staff, Lugo, really stood out. Lugo went ABOVE AND BEYOND to accommodate customers, offering alternative options to better match what I was looking for. The staff went out of their way to bring our to-go orders to us as we were sitting down. Lugo was not only quick to accommodate guest, but also appeared to be very helpful to the other staff members when they had questions. All together great experience!! read more

I would never give my business to this location ever again. I went once when they newly opened. Very excited there was one close by. When my smoothie was ready "Lugo" pointed out one of my physical features to an employee instead of giving her my name for my smoothie. I guess she didn't realize I spoke Spanish. We live nearby and decided to try this place for the first time. We had the Peanut Paradise and Chia Banana smoothies, a half turkey apple dijon sandwiche, plus a side. All very fresh and tasty!
