I love smoothies, but the ones made at home never taste like the naturally sweet, creamy, delicious ones made at smoothie shops. And let me just say, Tropical Smoothie Cafe makes some of the best. I found out about the place because they sell them at my school. I then located the cafe because it was in the same plaza as a music store I go to. I convinced my family to go there, and we were all impressed. The smoothies are delicious, and not that pricey, considering its a giant smoothie (I'm not positive, but I think it's 32 ounces.) They have so many options, from ones just with fruit, to indulgent chocolate ones, and even ones packed with protein. You can also add anything you want to any of them, like scoops of protein powder, Fat Burning minerals, etc. Don't even get me started on the food. Forget about going to Panera or Cosi because this place has some of the best sandwiches. I've had a few regular sandwiches, and a few flatbreads. By far, my favorite was the Chicken Pesto flatbread. It has pesto on it that is better than most upscale Italian restaurants. It is not very pricey; most sandwiches come with either a bag of chips or two cookies. The only reason I went was because it was convenient...I was reminded why I don't go. My sandwich was on hard bread (and it wasn't because it was toasted cuz I asked for it not to be) the taste of the sandwich wasn't very much to my liking. For it to be chicken salad, it was more like apple salad. My smoothie was way too stiff, so they had to remake it, and the cashier overcharged me, ending up having to give back over a dollar. I know she knew, because she stared confused at the register screen as if wondering why it rang up at the price it did, but probably hoped I wouldn't notice. read more

This location is extremely slow especially during lunch time there is no reason for a smoothie to not be ready and have to wait a half hour if we already placed the order over the app. Terrible service won't be coming back! Avoid at all costs!! read more

Very poor food handling practices. The girl who made my smoothies was constantly rubbing her nose and face while preparing our smoothies

Let me just say that the service here is one of the most horrendous examples of "customer service" I have ever experienced in my life. The manager, an old unpleasant looking women, stares at everyone as they walk in without so much as a hello or how are you. After ordering, she turns around and walks back without any confirmation of my order. I then sit down, and wait 10 minutes for 2 smoothies (Lean Machine and Sunrise Sunset). I was the second in line, yet I received my second smoothie after the third customer in line, a blatant example of how they treat the customers better than some. After both of my smoothies were prepared the manager walks up to the counter, and rather than calling out the smoothies, she just stares at me, holding the straw. I assume they were a previous customers, so I went back to my own business at the table, but after a minute of her staring, she says, in a very angry tone, "Sunrise Sunset????" as if I was supposed to assume that those were my smoothies. She always seems angry at the customers for ordering. On a separate visit she also refused to upgrade my friend's Jetty Punch to a Lean Machine because she had already ordered EVEN THOUGH THE SMOOTHIE'S PREPARATION HAD NOT YET BEGUN. It took an absurd amount of convincing, a few angry mumbled complaints, and assistance from another worker for the workers to "rering up the drink" and after my friend offered to give the 50 cents for upgrade, they said they didn't need it, and instead went back and told the preparers to add in the necessary ingredients (only fat burner and energy burner, not a very big deal). If simply telling them to put in more ingredients was an option, why did we spend our time at the point of service counter waiting on them to mess around with the computer? This makes me uncertain as to the education of the employees with their register, and I would not trust making a large catering order here because of not only that, but their consistent lack of punctuality. I understand that smoothies may take a long time, and I would wait more than happily for my smoothies, but the lack of a sense of urgency I sense in watching them walk to prepare the drinks and serve the drinks makes me feel as if they do not respect my time. I have been to this location very many times out of my unprecedented want for a smoothies, but after learning there is a far nicer and friendlier location equidistant from my house, I will not be returning, and I suggest that you do not come here either, save your money and time. read more

Worst service at this location!!! I called in an order to avoid having to wait and I still had to wait over 25 minutes when I arrived. No only that, my order was sitting on the back counter for ten minutes before anyone came up to hand it to me! No one ever apologized for the wait. They need to hire more people! In a hurry for hepatitis a from Egyptian strawberries? It's going to be a whole long while. Service was pathetically slow.... But friendly. This place was not terrible for my first and likely last visit. If you're hungry try another nearby restaurant because the portions are so small. Smoothies are very good and have many options. I am addicted to smoothies though and would probably give a high rating to any smoothie business. Food is ACTUALLY quite enjoyable. I was worried that since it is a chain there might be a poor quality to the food. Steak sandwich was very tasty and tender. Very excited to have a new, quick, healthy (somewhat) place in the area! Very nice place as well.. I like the atmosphere.. and staff was nice and helpful as well!! read more

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS STORE!!! TERRIBLE!!!!! I work for them and they STEAL MONEY OUT OF OUR PAY CHECKS!!! We caught them and confronted them about it and they told us there was a law that said we have to take a fifteen minute break unpaid but that's a lie!!! They have been taking 20+ minutes off our checks PER SHIFT! We never take breaks!!! There is no law and they never told us to take breaks so they've just been stealing money from us!!! And! Since we had a meeting about it they decided to make us pay for our uniforms! Even though none of the other tropical smoothies make their employees pay for uniforms AND we give them back when we quit! Plus they lied about how much they cost and doubled it! Also! Instead of taking 20 minutes worth off our scheduled hours they decided to take 7.50 off per shift! That's EVEN MORE! Almost an entire hour off for some of us! Also, most tropical smoothies start their employees off at 9.00, they start us at 8.50!!! Also! I was promised 40 hours a week! But since our meeting they cut my hours AND docked another employees pay AND hours because they were "MAD" according to our manager! They are crooks and thieves!!! Myself and a couple coworkers go here regularly for the smoothies on our lunch breaks. On numerous occasions we have waited extremely long periods of time and the food is mediocre. The smoothies are fantastic, sometimes they're far too thick, but the flavor is generally consistent. The customer service is AWFUL. The manager has always been unpleasant and up until recently the manager used to always be alone when we would go in, but lately there have been 2-3 others intermittently. The younger employees working the cash register do not seem to understand what they're doing. Today when we were in there around 1PM they were busy, but my co-worker and I were second in line and got our smoothies which we ordered the SAME ONE after almost everyone behind us got theirs. Regardless of us being regulars. The younger person at the register did not say hi to us, she did not ask us how we were, she did not ask us what we would like today. Once we were done the man behind us did not notice and thought others waiting were next, she looked up and just stared at him. She did not say can I help who is next, the woman behind this man ended up asking him if he was ready. If I can help it I do not go here, but it is the closest to my work, but I do not recommend this to anyone who expects quality customer service. read more
