Honestly I want to say, the tejuino is beyond amazing, I'm from Guadalajara and I know how a true tejuino taste like, I have tried many different places and I was never satisfied on the taste until now. A couple months ago we came across Tropicana by accident on our way home to LA; We are driving through the area once again and we gladly took the detour again to come get a tejuino, its Worth the trip! Tropicana Raspados has all your sweet treats - agua frescas, raspados, and paletas. I ordered a Maracuya agua fresca and it was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a variety of paletas. They were packaged in clear bags with no labeling which signals to me that they are housemade unlike the chains that have branded/sealed bags. This is a huge plus for me. After this visit, I tried paletas from other big chains and wow, it made clear that Tropicana Raspados is in a league of their own. I love that they show off the fruit in the Fresa Leche, which had two strawberry halves prettily displayed, and the Guava Agua with slices of fresh guava. Place was good but as of recently , they have cut down on the portions and sizes of plates with prices remaining the same. Fruit is now cut to tiny squares for tostilocos, Raspados are watered down. Nothing like when they opened, talk about greed.Aside from it all, $90 for 2 small raspados, 2 small esquites, 2 single scoop ice creams... pretty wild!! read more

Clean, cute decor and delicious! I originally saw fresh jugos on the menu but unfortunately those are no longer served. All of the classic Mexican snacks are covered here, like elotes, paletas etc. However, I ordered a cucumber and lime agua fresca and it was fresh, sweet and slightly tart. I also tried some of the nuez ice cream and I was caught off guard by how GOOD it was! So flavorful with little bits of walnut, good creamy texture and not overly sweet. I tried la tropicana for the first time and I was not disappointed! There are so many options available whether sweet or spicy. The employees did an amazing job at answering our questions about the menu. I ended up going for the mangonada (which is with mango ice cream) instead of the chamoyada (which is ice based instead of cream). For the small mangonada they gave us several flavors of ice cream to choose from mango, mango with chamoy, pineapple, etc. I ended up getting mango and pineapple (you can get up to two flavors for the small) and it was so creamy and refreshing. My partner had Dulce de leche ice cream and under that is a scoop of cookies and cream. The ice cream was velvety and soft. Perfect texture.
