We all deserve help when we're down and when that help is given with empathy and authentic desire to help it is incredibly life changing. I have to say that from the call, insurance check, and all the travel coordination all the way until I arrived at treatment, the entire process was so seamless and easy. Rehab is not easy, but it was nice to have a peaceful and safe place to do it. Therapy is world class and the facility is also 5 star. It was a bit far from where I am (I'm in upstate NY) but I think traveling for better care is a no-brained. I would recommend Legacy.

We thought he would only be there 1 or 2 weeks which turned into 4 weeks. There is no Rehab facility that is fantastic, exceptional unless you are paying privately for an upscale facility. This is the reality of this type of facility. Care One at Parsippany is clean, does not smell, except for the food at times, it has clean linen (some of the linens have holes and look worn) but they are clean and are changed daily. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The Laundry service could do a better job with the clothes distribution and keeping the clothes in order, but at least I don't have to take it home and have 1 more thing added to my list of chores. I had issues with my dad's care, with nursing and CNAs but I was called by everyone in the facility from Irish (who gives you her cell phone number for contact) to Danielle the Concierge, Cynthia the Assistant Director of Nursing, Sandra the Social Worker, Karen the Unit Manager, Eli the Liaison Jennifer, Nana, Kaleigh were kind and receptive to my constant questions about my dad and never felt like they were running away when they saw me coming. The list of names goes on. All reached out and helped in some way. I speak up and ask for what I want and need in a respectful manner, I don't demand. I treat people the way I want to be treated. I am my dad's advocate because he is 88 in pain from cancer and has dementia. He finally came home and I did not have a walker and they lent me the therapy walker until we go one of our own unfortunately 3 days later he went back into the hospital and his cancer has spread. The medical team said they were recommending Hospice I chose the same facility because though I would not rate it a 10 as a 5 star hotel I certainly can rate it a 7 or 8 because what they don't have you either ask for it and if they don't have it, I bring in what my dad likes to make him comfortable. Like a special pillow, the soft tissues he likes, his own deodorant brand etc. The reality is that I have to work full time and cannot afford private care and though I don't expect Care One or any other facility to be my dad's babysitter, I do expect them to do their job. If I am not happy I speak to them and have it rectified. I am glad Parsippany has a facility in Town and I can have my dad as close to me especially now that he is at the end of his life. What is the alternative leave him at home alone put a camera in his room and have him wait to either I or my husband come home? Thank you CareOne and the staff for being there for me and my dad at this difficult time. Not sure how long he will be here, hopefully the continue to be compassionate and caring about the jobs they do and the service they provide the community and most importantly the patients that are entrusted to them.

She is disrespectful and a hypocritical person. My father was here and she told us to get out of the day room because we were having lunch and told us to go to the dinning room to eat. If I'm paying the bills to have my father to stay here he has every right to eat wherever he wants. I didn't want to mention this but I have witness multiple times of her screaming and being rude to her staff like crazy person . Also noticed her yelling at a resident because he wanted to sit next to the tv at a point where he was going to cry. She seems to like to belittle people. I don't want to imagine what happens behind doors. She sits in her office with a heavy set person and seems to be talking in a way I assume isn't the way to talk about other people which is not acceptable because My father at times likes to go to the day room and could be listening. It is a home atmosphere. When I realized that I could no longer take of husband at home I had to make the difficult decision of finding a place. I visited several facilities and none compare to Arden Courts. My husband is receiving outstanding care. He has many health issues besides dementia and all of his needs are being met. When I take my husband home for a few hours, he tells me he wants to go "home". That says a lot about his care and I know he is happy and healthy. I originally went to a different rehab center and the PT there only hurt me more and my shoulder was in greater pain than ever. My doctor suggested trying another rehab center and I found Kessler right in my town. From the beginning, they told me with a frozen shoulder, we need to take it slow at first and not hurt me. They listened to my feedback and while it was difficult, I didn't come close to the bad experience I had with the previous PT. Now, 3 months later, I've nearly recovered my full range of motion and apparently well ahead of schedule, because they worked with me and didn't just treat me like a slab of meat. I'm very thankful to Susan, Jenna and Gianna for getting me this far.

The nutrition department is aware of the critical nature of proper diet as it relates to healing and overall longevity. Lauren and Nancy both went above and beyond to help me maintain my healthy routine. Astrida, Lisette and Chabin are among the more compassionate and warm aides that I met during my stay Carmen is an absolute angel that keeps the place spotless with a smile! The PT and OT staff is also great and a special shout out goes to Nicole for giving me my first post-op shower!

I was at Oaks for a couple of weeks for rehab, don't consider having a love one go there. The aids…read moredon't come when you need help, at night I would hear patients crying for help. some were in pain, some needed to use the bathroom. I saw 2+ different aids sleeping in a chair the entire night as patients cried for help. one aid was a female and one was a male. someone stole my ring and other things from my bag while I was in PT, my relatives bought me an edible for Valentine's Day and it cost 100 dollars which I never received. someone stole it and we were never refunded the money. Your suppose to get a shower twice a week but the aids are lazy and don't come, and when you ask they have attitudes. The PT staff were ok but a few come to get you and don't even say hello and are on their cell phones the entire time. The nurses are overwhelmed and some were nice especially Noami was the best one there. The activity program is a joke, you sit in the all purpose room and do nothing. The aides are the worst my bed wasn't changed in 4 days, no one comes when you call them. No one cares there, stay away. It was the worst I've ever been. If I could give this place e a zero I would.

He needed assistance with transferring from wheelchair to bed and bathroom. They insisted on using a hoyer lift on him instead of assisting him as requested. Needless to say he became weaker and when he asked to go to bathroom they told him to do it in his diaper. My dad wear depends but does not "go in his diaper ". My dad developed a UTI which was untreated for 3 days and he became confused and this began his downward spiral. There is no communication when you call doctor they don't call back. I could go on and on about this terrible facility! My dad was transferred out after getting another infection! My dad had passed away recently and his death is a direct result of his poor care at this facility!!

They don't have any training on how to deal with grieving family members, especially the new director. They have zero empathy. I saw so many things and heard the cNA's say so many mean things. The speech therapist Natasha is wonderful, Regan and Shelby in PT/OT are fantastic and Mustafa the aide is also great. The Phillipino ladies are super nice too in activities but they aren't Aides or LPN's! When you press your call button it's not PT, activities or speech that comes it's the aides. And the Aides are the worst And believe me they do not care if they do their job well or care at all. Umang Shah is new to the position and not great at it. She needs massive training.
