Not clean. Not sure what happened to this hotel but the first time I stayed here a couple years ago it was so nice. On this trip I was greeted with stained chair in the lobby and a not so fresh room. There were handprints on the bathroom door, brown platter on the wallpaper and the bedsheets were not fresh. I expected to smell the light scent of bleach on the sheets and a cozy feeling bed. Instead it was musty and rough. Our family made the best of our stay here. The staff were so nice. The pool area barely had any clean towels the whole weekend we were there. The pool itself was cloudy. I don't know what happened but I hope they can turn things around. Unfortunately my family will be looking for other hotels in the area next time. read more

Do not come here if you want to sleep )': this hotel is SO freaking loud because of the road it's set on. I got maybe 3 good hours of sleep when there was nobody on the road. You can also hear everything happening in the rooms beside you. The rooms are smaller than a NYC Times Square hotel as well. Which, I have stayed at many hotels in NEW YORK that were quieter than this. Its actually crazy. They do have free breakfast tho. read more

I liked the fact that we were able to check in ahead of time. We were notified when the room was ready and we were able to use digital keys but we also asked for physical keys just in case. The front desk staff was friendly and told us about breakfast for the next day. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. I haven't had a chance to try the breakfast but it looks like they have a good selection from what I saw on the website. I will definitely come back here if the occasion calls for it. read more

I like the tru brand of Hilton hotels - nice & clean - the rooms are nice size and clean, beds are actually comfortable. This particular one seems a bit "used" compared to other tru hotels. There are a couple things that's annoying - the bathroom faucet could use a repair, see video for what it is. The hotel sits next to a major road that is on a slope. Our even numbered room faces the road. Tractor trailers runs along with their engine brakes all the way until after 11pm, and then starts the "wake up calls" at around 5:30am. I really like the Tru brand hotels. The rooms are clean, bed is comfortable, amenities are readily accessible, and I like the hardwood floors where you don't have to worry about what is hiding deep down in a carpet!! Breakfast is ok -- the highlight is the pancake machine where you wave your hand over a sensor, watch as batter plops out onto a conveyor belt where they are cooked perfectly. Just make sure you put your plate at the end to catch them! They also offer scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, oatmeal, juice, coffee (24 hour coffee/tea), bagels. Most of the reviews on here complain about the noise hint don't book a hotel next to a major road then and we had NO PROBLEM at all about the traffic nothing out of the normal or anything to stop you from sleeping, the hotel main areas were clean and so were our 2 connecting rooms we requested. The shower pressure was great and hot and the provided body wash and shampoo and conditioner in the shower smelled good. There is a 50 inch TV that is rare in most hotels which made watching tv nice. Only complaint is that the breakfast options far as meat were not good only sausage, no bacon or ham like really come on but the pancakes and the machine are nice. I stayed here while in the area for three days and loved every second of my stay. The hotel is a perfect balance of bougie on a budget. They give you most of what you'd expect from the Hilton brand, but cut down on things like the room size to deliver a pretty great affordable stay! The pool was great, my room was clean and the the bed was quite cozy. I liked the bathroom as it felt rather elevated for such an affordable room. The location of this hotel is also fantastic! You're walking distance from restraints, just down the road from shops, and not too far from downtown Lancaster. Id consider this hotel if I'm ever planning a trip to Lancaster again, as the staff were quite helpful when I asked about recommendations of places to eat, things to do, and even when to book my stay. read more

Stayed here because we spent the weekend at Hershey. It was about a 30-40min drive to Hershey and I realized there was a Tru Hilton much closer. This hotel was very clean. The rooms were a little small but we didn't spend a lot of time there. We had two queen beds. Beds were very clean and comfy. Room was super quiet. Front desk lady was sooooo nice. I wish I knew her name because she was so lovely. Best part was you can check in online and use your phone as a key. Breakfast was included. They had bagels, cereal, yogurt with a choice of roping's, muffins, etc. We have stayed in some pretty sketchy hotels when going to Hershey so we were really nervous. We definitely recommend this hotel. read more

This hotel is located in PA 35 minutes from Hershey Park, 5 minutes from the Amish Country, and 5 minutes from the Sight & Sound Theater. It has a 24hr IHOP across the street with several other restaurants. There is also a Tanger Outlet about 10 mins away. The hotel was great for my one night stay. Its clean, the staff were pleasant, and they had a great continental breakfast. One of the best I have had. They also serve fresh coffee all day in the lobby. The room is basic but clean and didn't have any issues. The only negative is it didn't have a microwave. The price was about $220 a night for the weekend. read more

Stayed here one night while in town and I thought they were doing the best they can considering. I checked in on my Hilton App prior to my arrival. Front desk person was very friendly and nice. Room and amenities are the standard Tru by Hilton. Nothing fancy but adequate with minimal stuff. A room had had a fridge and we kept the leftover steak from a steakhouse next door. No microwave in our room but they have one at the lobby. They were trying to be creative for serving breakfast while maintaining social distance during this time. Unlike a traditional hotel with a standard lobby, their design makes it challenging to maintain social distance. They kindly heated up our leftovers and gave us a hot breakfast sandwich and anything else we wanted to eat. We ate our breakfast at the lobby area but most people took their food to their room. Reasonable price, plenty of restaurants nearby. Great friendly service. Not a bad place to spend a night in the area. read more

I'm all new to the Hilton profolio.. So for the first time ever being at one. I was impressed with the layout and all. But not impressed. That my room was not ready... I checked in online for 3pm arrived. Got there at 5pm. Room was not ready. Was told they have to give me another room. So for the ease of using digital key and going to my room. Was a bummer because I had to go to front desk anyway. After they gave me a room. The room I got had a broken toliot seat. So to start the night hear was not what I excepted... Except much better. Especially for my first ever time. On the positive side. The rooms are nice... Beds we're very comfortable. The lounge is nice to hangout drink a cup of coffee or hangout with freinds and family. They have alot of board games u can play. The next morning had free breakfast very good to.... Get down in the lobby for breakfast early. It gets packed. You get the choice of alot. Eggs, bagels and Donuts, yogurt, cereal and different juices. I'm not sure if I will go back to this location again. Unless the staff improves. read more

We have stayed at MANY true locations the past several years and typically are very happy. Unfortunately this stay wasn't the best. We arrived about 10:30 pm and our check in was fine. When we got to our room I noticed a strong-ish air freshener/cleaner smell. I was pretty tired so decided to just live with it. I climbed into bed a short while later, put my head on the pillow and noticed the same odor in the room was on the pillow but very very strong. As if the pillow had been directly sprayed. I found several of the pillows were the same but two were better. I chose one of the better ones and dozed off. A short time later I woke up coughing and feeling a bit sick to my stomach. The cleaner or deodorizer was really getting to me. I finally gave up at just before 2 and we packed up and went to the front desk. The man on duty moved us to a new room. Not much of an apology was offered. The new room had none of the smell the other had. About 3:30 I fell asleep finally . The next few hours people in the next room were in and out of the room several times with the door shutting loudly behind them. At check out I asked to speak with a manager. After explaining the situation, the manager said the spray sometimes settles on things. I assured her it was much too strong for that. The manager asked what she could do to make the situation right. She offered points or a discount but I said I would like to receive a full refund. She did that and I feel it was the right thing. Hopefully this was an isolated incident and others don't encounter these issues. read more

This hotel (which has only been opened for less than 2 years) is conveniently located on Highway Route 30 East right by the Tanger Outlets. The modern design of the lobby with its bright colors is very warm and inviting. It also has a nice colorful Lancaster mural on the wall as well as foosball tables for fun. When we checked in we were also given complimentary bottles of water. The complimentary breakfast was fine for the most part. Instead of having one big bowl of yogurt to dish out from I wish they had the individual yogurt cups. Also the eggs tended to be a little bit watery and awish that they changed it up from sausage to bacon or some kind of other meat. All three days we had the breakfast they had nothing but sausage. I also would have liked if the mattress was a little bit firmer. Overall I would stay here again. read more

Try Tru out. It's a much more modern/hip Hilton brand. It's full of trendy colors, cool spaces, and great vibes. The lobby is colorful, inviting, and full of coolness. Seriously. The staff we encountered were helpful. Not overly friendly but helpful. It has a 24hour coffee/tea station in the lobby as well as a small snack area for bottled water, cookies, candy etc. In the lobby you will also find game tables, and board games. The hotel has a 24 hour gym and a pool with limited hours. (Pool is very small) The hotel is walking distance to a coffee shop and steakhouses as well as a few buffets. Tanger outlets are also walking distance. The room is compact as you will see in the pics I posted. The room is tastefully decorated. 60in tv with Dish Network for service. The entire room is certainly a great use of space. The bathroom is small, but packs a great punch. Has a glass walk in shower. They provide soaps, lotions, shampoo and conditioner in large dispensers. (Sounds gross but it isn't) I rarely am able to rate more that a 3. We stay all over the place. I like new concepts and an early adopter to technology. Tru appears to be the Hilton version of Aloft catering more to the millennials. What was funny during my stay was there were very few millennials staying during my visit. To the contrary, there was a bus load of retired seniors on tour. They all seemed a bit confused. In fact, over breakfast I heard them complaining they wish they went to the IHOP across the street instead of the free breakfast. Here's what you need to know---- this isn't your standard vacation hotel. The rooms are compact with power outlets everywhere. The desk has been transformed into a working chair with adjustable tray/table. Large TV. No closet, just a hanging area with small ironing board and iron. Nice walk in shower. No throw away soap or shampoo. Refillable soap and shampoo containers in the shower. Very sustainable. The fitness center was set up for a good aerobic or strength building workout. Yoga mats, treadmills, ellipticals, free weights. Breakfast consisted of healthier options such as high protein foods, granola. If you don't like the offering, there's a mini-mart in the middle of the hotel by the guest services. read more

This is Hilton's bargain hotel, but the price in Lancaster is often not a bargain price. Especially on weekends. They apparently have no trouble filling this hotel due to its Lincoln Hwy location close to Tanger Outlets and Dutch Wonderland. I guess Tru does appeal more to the 21-35 hipster crowd its marketing is aimed towards. I find the lobby to be kind of disturbing & seizure inducing rather than fun, colorful & zany. It's certainly not calming. It's like a college dorm rec room with game tables and TV's & bright lights & colorful murals. And in the wee hours it's often filled with kids. There is a small indoor pool which looked to be packed with kids until closing at 10pm. Parking is free, a plus at any hotel. As a Hilton Honors member I used digital key which allowed me to check in & out on the app, bypassing the front desk and I never used a keycard. They will give you 2 free bottles of water at check in. The rooms are small & don't have dressers or closets. They supply a few hangers next to a mini ironing board & iron. There are hooks on the wall for coats & purses and a full length mirror. They do have a mini fridge in the room which is always handy. My room had a built in luggage rack over the AC/heater unit. The two elevators worked fine. I picked my room via the app as well and chose the 2nd floor end of the hall by the stairs. My room area was quiet with the exception of it facing the street, so truck noise & traffic is persistent through the night. It didn't bother me too much, but others complained of the noise, so you may want a room that faces the back parking lot for more quiet. The room was clean & AC worked well. It's a new hotel, about 2 years old so nothing is old or worn yet, but the rooms to me are sterile & cheaply done so I'm wondering how well they will stand up. The bed was comfortable, the pillows much less so & there were only 3 pillows provided for the king bed. I liked the soft sheets very much. The bathroom was nice, probably the best feature, with counter space & a ledge above sink area to set toiletries. They provide big wall containers of soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo & conditioners with a lemon scent. I thought the smell was pleasing but it could bother those who don't like scented things. The shower worked well (no tub). The TV has expanded cable with tons of premium channels & worked well. They have a free breakfast which I hear gets quite crowded so I skipped it. They have snacks for purchase round the clock and free coffee and tea as well. Getting out of the parking lot is easy provided you are turning right and you are actually forbidden to turn left out of the lot at certain busy times during the day. To go left you need to turn right & immediately turn into the adjacent shopping center & do a U turn to get to a light. The hotel is next to a coffee breakfast place and Longhorn Steakhouse is in the same parking lot. I Hop is across the street as is a faction of Lancaster Brewing Co, so you have several choices for food & beverage within walking distance. So, if I could give it 3.5 stars I would, there was nothing completely bad about my stay it's just that I find other hotels of comparable price in the area to be a better bang for my buck and have larger rooms. I'd guess this hotel does appeal more to families with kids & teens or couples under 40's. I can't see this hotel appealing as much to seniors. read more

Pros: - Hotel is new and clean - Has no carpet which is more hygienic. - Nice game room for kids in lobby Cons: biggest con- we are diamond elite members. Requested a late check out, it says 12:00 check out on the door. They told us they can't do later than 12:00. That's regular check out time! They tried to tell my husband check out is 11:00 but it doesn't say that anywhere. As diamond elite members, we've never had a problem getting a late check out. My husband was working, plus we were traveling across country to visit family, and our kids were sick. No Late check out for a diamond elite member. Bad business move. Plus, they lie about their check out time. Not cool. They also told my husband they couldn't give a late check out because they're overbooked tonight; yet when he goes online he has no issues booking any room type. Lying again! Also, housekeeping was banging on our door at 9am despite a DND sign on door handle. Other cons: - cow/poop smells outside - very small room with no closet or drawers - no tubs available; only showers (we have a baby, huge inconvenience) - water smells musty in the shower. - breakfast is basically a carb festival. Bagels, bread, English muffins, bread, bread, oatmeal, did I mention bread???? No eggs, bacon, or anything worthy of being called breakfast. - they use a strong, musky smelling detergent on the linens that made us all feel sick. Why??? I woke up to banging on the door by housekeeping with red eyes. - staff is not very friendly. We stayed at a Tru hotel in Oklahoma and while it has many of these same "cons," at least the staff was upbeat and pleasant. Makes a difference when people smile at you and try harder. read more

The hotel has great amenities, don't get me wrong. There is a great fitness center, pool, and lounge area. There is 24/7 coffee available to patrons and laundry room if needed. There are games to play in the lobby and you can watch tv there. Breakfast is also a plus along with the use of mini fridges. However, there was just a lazy approach to making sure the rooms are actually clean and functional. That's the most important thing to me so I expected more from a Hilton. Upon arrival to my room, I wanted to put water in the mini fridge and I found a half eaten order of food left in there. #1. Went to the front desk and told them about it, I asked if the room was properly cleaned out from the previous visitors. The response I got was "I'm pretty sure it was cleaned". Not helpful. When I went into the bathroom, I immediately noticed that the floor had dirt on it. Not even like dirt in the corner, it was legit just dirty and you could feel it on your feet. That's #2. When washing my hands, I noticed that the sink began to clog and build up with water immediately. There was hair and probably old toothpaste/product buildup from other people that was just sitting there... staring at me... *shiver* ANYWAY, that was #3. The last straw for me was when I noticed on the soap dispenser that someone left either facial or pube hair uncleaned (that's basically 3 in 1). Disgusting. I shouldn't see obvious signs of other patrons previous visits. I shouldn't have to clean my supposedly "clean" room and I should have access to a fully functional sink during my visit. Glad I didn't stay there more than one night. Unfortunately I wouldn't return to this hotel because I question how thoroughly they clean and check up on basic room amenities. read more

The hotel was very new. Overall it was just a mediocre visit. It had some pros and some cons. Pros - electrical sockets and USB ports everywhere! - huge tv in the room - coffee was good. - the have fooseball tables to play - gym looked nice ( we didn't use but might of if we had more time). Cons - Staff seemed overwhelmed. We tried to check in early (about an hour early) and we were told it wasn't possible. Then the front desk clerks were talking about a list needed to be updating. The the other girl basically screamed at the other front desk clerk telling her to tell her to update the rooms now! - breakfast left much to be desired. Greek yogurt with ice cream bar toppings (sprinkles, chocolate chips and dried fruit), oatmeal and bagels. No eggs or bacon. Orange juice tasted watered downWe ended up getting foot elsewhere. - king sized room is small! You have a little room around the bed and basically that's it. - it's loud. Right off the road. We heard traffic and night. You also heard people talking outside the room. Housekeeping was knocking and making announcements around 8:30. read more

Stayed 2 nights. Found the re-thinking of the check-in area kinda cool (out on an island with all the provisions/snacks ringing the island). They do a good job with the breakfast - 1 hot option (some kinda egg thing), a bunch of cereal options, bagel and fruit. The room is very basic and kinda small but it was clean and I prefer the sleek layout. Overall stay was very good but they lose one star because of how poor the soundproofing is. Loud trucks driving up Lincoln highway sound like they're 10 feet from your room. And if you have a bunch of loud moe-moe hayseed kids who've never been to a hotel - running through the halls at midnight - it sounds like the herd is going to come crashing thru the door. read more

This hotel is a fairly new chain addition from Hilton, and I visited this one on 9-20-17 which was about 3 months after they had opened and I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is quirky and ultra modern similar to the indigo version from intercontinental (holiday inn) no carpet, bright colors and IKEA style furniture, fixtures and accessories. The staff was very nice and courteous and answered all my questions that I had. Will definitely stay here again and look for this chain in the future. My husband & I stayed here for night. We went to a show at the American music hall. Everything is close to this clean accommodating hotel. Breakfast in morning was good and rooms clean. The best were the staff. I lost my phone and Stacy and housekeeping crew looked high and low for it (which they did fine my phone) but their efforts and persistence in trying to find it was so extremely nice. Terrible night! We picked this hotel based on the reviews and because it was new, but it was a mistake. It's right off the main road so you hear the trucks and cars all night long! It took us almost 2 hrs to fall asleep and our family woke up several times due to the noise. It was very cold so I complained about the a/c not going off but the careless employee said that's how it is. The pillows had an odor and the sheets did not feel clean. Stayed at the Tru hotel in Lancaster, PA because I wanted to try it out. I had to book two rooms because we are a family of five. I travel frequently, I usually prefer Marriott family of hotels, but I am Gold with Hilton. We were greeted at the front desk by a not-so-friendly employee. This is fine, I get it, but...this is the first time EVER that no attempt whatsoever was made to put our rooms close to each other. The room across the hall from one of the rooms was not occupied during our stay. Possibly it wasn't the format I booked, but no mention of anything from the first desk. Okay, opposite ends of the building, I'll deal with it. The room I stayed in was filthy along the bottom of the shower door, dirt, hair, and who knows what else. The combination of issues just makes me want to book Marriott going forward, but I need to use up tons of Hilton points. I don't recommend this hotel at all. I'm not sure what group Hilton is trying to attract here, maybe millennial business travelers or something. No microwave either. read more

Noisy Noisy NOISY!!! If you are looking for a good night sleep then this is not the place for you. First off, the traffic outside the Hotel is ALL NIGHT LONG. This tells me they have cheap windows. Second, the walls and ceilings are so thin you can hear the TV next door and the giants walking above. The rooms have no carpets so you can hear every foot step from the room above. read more

The room here was nice but it looks like the construction was rushed and shortcuts and standards were not maintained. The shower leaks in this hotel that has not been open very long. The breakfast was terrible. It was like a zoo where all the caged animals were let out all at once. The food items were placed badly, causing everyone to get in each other's way for all the high demand food. The person refilling food items was not keeping up, which caused more havoc when she did bring food out. It didn't help that one member of staff was toasting bagels in the midst of everything. She probably would have been better employed helping to replenish the food. I think the person replenishing was also cooking the food, since the sausages being served were under cooked. The only positive I saw was there were 2 coffee pots separated to allow for 2 people to get coffee at the same time. Even though the staff couldn't keep up with the breakfast crowd once the clock hit 10:00 they sure did move fast to get everything shut down. People who had been waiting for food had it pulled away from them as soon as time was up. Terrible customer service. read more

I am a Hilton Honors member and have been happy with the Hilton standard of quality. The room, bed and amenities were adequate....however, this particular hotel was built RIGHT ON TOP of the Lincoln Highway...the busiest and noisiest highway in Pennsylvania. I was treated to the sound of semi trucks using their "jake brakes", tires squealing when taking off from the stop light and motorcycles that think they need to rev up and take off from a stoplight. This noise went on ALL NIGHT LONG. After being awoken several times, I was super aware of the noise which made the rest of the night unbearable. I realize that the building is already built and that noise remediation devices were not installed. The best advice I could possible give to anyone staying at this place is get an ODD NUMBERED ROOM If you get an odd numbered room, the poor suckers on the other side of the building will get all the noise. I have 3 trips planned to the area in the next couple of weeks and had originally planned to stay here each night...however, I will not be staying here ....EVER. Just know, if you stay here, that the street noise will be at a high level. read more

I definitely recommend staying here if you have the Hilton Honors Credit Card, because you not only can get a free night at this hotel, but they give you free bottled water whenever you want it. All you have to do is go to the front desk and ask! I booked a room with two Queen beds & well, let's just say they made the room the the perfect size for two queen beds & there is no extra space. Keep in mind this is a more bogey friendly hotel so, I wasn't surprised. I have a bad back so it was important to me that the mattress gave me the support I need and well it did just that. I am honestly really surprised that everything in the room was definitely high quality. I recommend booking a room with two queen beds if you're staying for two nights at the most, if you're staying four nights or more you should get a room with two King beds, so you will have a little more extra space. I enjoyed my stay and liked everything about it. I personally think this hotel deserves a five star rating, but I completely understand the fact that this is a budget option. It's meant for shorter stays such as three nights at the most (I'm saying this cause there's no dressers just some shelves to keep your bags on). read more

Staying here for a soccer tournament. Although the place was clean and I have no complaints about the staff, we were greeted with "you have no reservation". My reservation was made months ago with a block of rooms for the Hempfield Fall Classic soccer tournament. We were going to check in Friday and leave Sunday. Due to family circumstances we called and cancelled FRIDAY nights reservation and kept our Saturday reservation many days before hand. When we arrived we were told that Saturday evening was cancelled and we were scheduled for Friday evening and we didn't show and they had no rooms available, just a king size bed room. That was fine. HOWEVER what was supposed to be a 179 dollar stay, turned into 305 for our room!!!! FOR ONE NIGHT. Why do I have to pay FOR YOUR MISTAKE?????
