Bummed to give this place such a low review, since I loved my New Customer Facial (believe it was with Rhianna) the first time I went here. I returned a few months later, this afternoon, for the Jet Peel Signature with Leigh Ann. Leigh Ann fit my insanely crazy work schedule before my Thursday Philly trip, otherwise I would have--and perhaps should have--booked in advance with Rhianna. To be fair, maybe I picked the wrong facial. But spending $212 ($185+15% courtesy tip) and getting subpar results for twice the price of my initial signature facial caused a few frown lines...not sure whether Tru offers Botox, but I won't return to find out. Leigh Ann spent the majority of our brief facial session (less than 1 hour) talking about how horrible my skin was, and how certain facials would help my skin condition in the future. Look, I understand addressing skin conditions and offering a solution--once or twice, which is what Rhianna did. But taking our whole appointment to promote future services while degrading my face and without providing quality within our current facial is a complete FAIL. Perhaps my standards are too high, but as a model who recently moved from Los Angeles and felt stoked off my first appointment here, perhaps it was today's sad service. The extractions were minimal at best, and aside from the hydro-blasting machine, this felt like a weak "slather-creams-on-and-call-it-a-day" service I could have executed myself. When I went to the bathroom while waiting for my Uber driver, I noticed a few white heads that could have easily been extracted had Leigh Ann focused more on my face in the current moment and focused less on future sales. As a Pilates instructor, this strikes me as no different than dwelling on a client's love handles and how "future services" could "fix" these issues, instead of paying full attention to my client and catering to their individual needs within our time together. If Tru Esthetics wants returning clients, it should provide more of the quality I experienced in my first session, and less of the promotional-fluff I experienced this afternoon. Rhianna completely zapped an incoming cyst in my first facial, and Leigh Ann could barely extract a basic zit today. Again, I'm disappointed that I spent over $200 today on results I could have achieved myself at home. read more

They listen to your concerns and educate you on the best practices for your needs. So glad I found Tru in Charlotte! I had been struggling with my skin for a while, as I travel for work and have always had very dry skin. TRU Esthetics is amazing. I've never really had a good facial or put much attention into a skin routine. Tracy is incredibly skilled! I had to grow my eyebrows back in after a threading hack job elsewhere for almost a year (see unkempt growing brows in before photos.) I researched and found this gem and I couldn't be happier. I have only gone once for the Tru brow where you get tinted, waxed, plucked and a great eyebrow pencil. I left with the best brows my face has ever experienced. While it takes multiple visits to fix them completely, I am blown away at what she was able to achieve. I can't say enough great things about Tracy and Tru Esthetics! I had gone to her previously to do my brows regularly and she always did a great job. We moved a ways outside of town and I tried to go somewhere closer to get my brows done before my wedding (big mistake, I know). I absolutely hated what had been done and even my husband commented on how bad they looked. I scheduled a last minute visit with Tracy and did a fantastic job getting them back to the right size and shape for our wedding. Can't believe I haven't reviewed TRU yet!! OMG, Tracy is such an artist. My brows literally grow in like Sasquatch's, and they're lighter than my hair, too. I leave here looking like I should have an Instagram account just for my brows. She tints, waxes, plucks, and doesn't leave a single hair out of place. I was in town for a work trip and in desperate need of a facial to treat some problem areas. Leigh Ann was able to fit me in and exceeded my expectations by a long shot. I get facials frequently to help keep my skin clear and fresh, and Leigh Ann gave me one of the best facials I've ever had (at a much lower cost than I'm used to paying where I live). This place is adorable and the staff do great work. My only complaint would be the tackiness of asking your clients to rate you 5 stars in Yelp and Google (requests by Tracy the owner). I saw Tracy today for a brow wax & tint and a pumpkin resurfacing treatment. TRU skin esthetics is located in Lenox Salons in Southend, which houses multiple solo beauty providers. While the space that TRU is located in is small, it is extremely clean and provides more than enough space for the treatments. There are a few pages of questions you have to fill out so I would suggest getting there a few minutes early. When I first walked into TRU, Tracy greeted me like an old friend and made me feel very comfortable. I had my brows done first. Tracy took her time, making sure both of us were satisfied with the end result. She did an excellent job with shaping and tinting my brows. Next came the pumpkin resurfacing treatment. Tracy explained each step and also explained that it may cause a burning sensation when applying the pumpkin treatment. First, she cleansed my face twice. The second time was with a honey exfoliating product that smelled delicious! Next came the pumpkin treatment, and she was right, it did burn. However, the burning sensation was about a 6/10 and really got better the longer it stayed on. she then removed the treatment with a hot towel began the extractions. She even used some sort of ultrasonic extracting device when manual extraction failed to get some of my blackheads out. Then, she massaged my face while applying a facial oil. Next, she applied a soothing strawberry mint masque which helped remove any redness from my face ( this also smelled soooo good!). While the masque was doing its thing she gave me a hand/arm massage. She finished my treatment by applying a vitamin c brightening serum, SPF, and a tinted moisturizer. I left with great brows and glowing skin! Tracy is extremely knowledgeable about skin. I 100% recommend Tracy and plan on having some chemical peels done by her in the near future. read more

Ive gotten several facials, waxing, lashes, etc done here and everything is done with such care, passion, and knowledge I could not imagine going anywhere else. I will continue to come here. After my sister went to get a facial from here, she spoke very highly of them and suggested I go get one as well. I have suffered my entire life from eczema and the symptoms that come with it (dry skin, hyperpigmentation, etc). For my 25th birthday, my skin also decided to gift me with acne. Needless to say, my skin wasn't in the greatest shape. I saw Rhianna and she provided me with a facial. She was SO helpful. She talked through every step of the process - examining my skin, expressing concerns, explaining products that she was applying, and offering suggestions for how to maintain my skin in the future. Even after the appt, she followed up with a text message just to make sure everything was going well. She is FANTASTIC! It's been a little over a month now and my skin looks the best it has in over 5 years. My face is so much more hydrated, my acne has reduced significantly, the hyperpigmentation has faded, and I finally feel like I can leave the house without a full face of makeup again. read more
