Poor experience. First, their AI bot, Jerry, directed me to the Moncks Corner location, but the vehicle was in Ladson instead. As I was 3 minutes from leaving for my house to go to the dealership, Hunter (if I remember his name correctly), a human, called me and informed me that the AI bot was wrong and told me that they would get the car and bring it to the Moncks Corner location the following morning. Then I had to reschedule the appointment to the following day because of it. Ok fine. When I arrived the next day to check out the car, they never sent it over. I had to ride with Shawn Conyers, my designated car salesperson, all the way to Ladson. Finally, I got the car and it was working great. Then I paid everything off and gave Shawn the keys to move the vehicle to a different spot. After driving home, I noticed that the key fob wasn't locking. Then I spoke with Shawn, about my key fob not working, and proceeds to gaslight me into thinking that he wasn't aware of the faulty door. He stated through text "How could I be aware if we both got the car together from Ladson?" So Tru Auto purposely leaves all of their used cars unlocked all the time. Right? He was fully aware, but lacked personal integrity. Did he reply to my message? Nope. I wouldn't have minded waiting to first get the car serviced and then have it handed back to me. Just a shady business practice and a lack of true integrity. It should've been on the CarFax, but apparently Shawn said that wouldn't be something that CarFax would document. Ok but how was the car serviced at the TruAuto in Moncks Corner and didn't mention that? So now their service center is also shady and doesn't report the issues. I will say that I am 100% ignorant when it comes to cars and was exhausted that day, but it wouldn't had hurt to have the integrity and courage to tell me that the car had an issue. I'm only leaving a one star because of the lack of integrity and poor business practice they have. Besides the car doors not locking, the car runs beautifully and hopefully there won't be any issues moving forward. Another day where we have people lacking human decency and integrity. read more

Do not go here! I was in a pinch as I traded in a car that was at the end so they sold me a vehicle and claimed they would fix the air conditioner. $1450 quote and I will never recommend that rip off artists to anyone. The warranty only covers the driver train they sold me and it's also leaking exhaust or fuel somehow. Nice rip off artists. read more

I had an issue with TruAuto in Moncks Corner SC that started Jan 22nd and continued for months. The car they sold me had the check engine light come on 2 days after I drove it off the lot. They had showed me available cars on their website but couldn't find the one I had chosen and came up with a 2014 Chevy Equinox which was a couple thousand more than I wanted to spend. I had the car in their shop once a week changing oxygen sensors, catalytic converter, manifold.... Then took it in the end of May for a timing belt and it was taken to McElveen in Summerville SC the beginning of April and they also replaced the alternator. They had the car for a month because the warranty company couldn't find the warranty. Then a week after I got it back I had to take it in again, this time for A/C and fuel pump. They had it another 3 weeks waiting for the warranty company to let them know what was covered. I am very unhappy with this kind of service and will never buy another car from them. read more

And never got car and had to pay 70 dollars of interest and never drove the car of the lot.. and hasn't rerun my call to pay me back the fiance charges.. they are part of mcelveen in Summerville wouldn't buy from them either... horrible customer service! I had a standing appointment to take a look at a vehicle this evening at 1830, however, my father was nice enough to drive to the location to take a look at the truck for me while I am at work (where I am writing this review). Upon arrival at this TruAuto location, the truck is no where to be found so my mother went inside to ask where it was, and was informed the truck was sold earlier this morning (Jan 21, 2020). At no point after the vehicle was sold was I contacted to be notified, despite having an appointment to view the truck later this evening. This is unacceptable at best, a customer should be notified if a product is no longer available for purchase. The reason I say purchase is because I was indeed interested in buying the vehicle, however, I did want to look at it and test drive it first. Sadly this is not cared for by the sales staff at this TruAuto location. I will NEVER deal with this location EVER again due to this discourtesy. It's not hard to pick up a phone and notify someone that what they are interested is no longer available. It's called common decency, something this location is lacking. read more
