I Walk to a store down the street who also doesn't sell the right size box. While waiting for vaccinations or refills, I constantly see the staff handling long lines and provider delays with smiles and humor. The cash register at the front of the store has been broken for over a year, so you have to always check out at the photo counter. It's just a dump. There is a collection of old, junk cars in their parking lot that they let people live in, sell drugs out of, turn tricks....wtf knows what's going on. Broken windows, flat tires, random people wandering around, yelling at all hours of the night. Went in to get a flu shot and after waiting in line for over 20 minutes. Get to the front of the line, I'm told to check in by scanning a QR code. 'I don't want to scan the QR code. Can't you just check me in?' 'No, scan the QR code or no shot.' And I guess at this point I just sort of had it, and left. Sorry I'm not interested in scanning your code so that Walgreens can get all the data off my phone and sell it to 3rd parties. You just watched me stand here for 20 minutes....you seriously can't check me in on your computer? You're telling me that no old folks walk in here and don't have smart phones? Get real, and get f'd. I have only been almost squished about 3 times in the last 10 years. Not bad for Reno. CONVENIENCE: They are no longer open 24 Hours. The Pharmacy window is only open 9:00am to 8pm with a half hour closure for lunch. The rest of the store still cares a huge collection of stuff. Items that apparently are "shoplifting magnets" ie most beauty products are now in locked shelves. ATMOSPHERE There seem to be fewer "dodgy" patrons than in the past. Shelves are better displayed and don't seem as cramed. It is clean and well lit. SERVICE: Still pretty slow, and staff has been drastically reduced. I have had no problems with either the pharmacy or the front checkout, it just takes a while. On the plus side, staff are friendly and professional. My insurance no longer covers prescriptions from Walgreens. I just learned that Walgreens is not affiliated with the large third-party Pharmacy Benefit Manager. So the convenience and location have been major factors in me continuing to shop here.

Since we were already there, we figured we'd at least get our flu shots. Unfortunately, we were then told that August was too early to get the flu shot. Thankfully, I was able to get a couple of the other vaccinations we needed for our upcoming travel. What was frustrating was finding out later that any location can apparently order vaccines if they choose to. If we had been given that information upfront, we would have had another option rather than simply being told it wasn't available. I understand that not every location will have every vaccine in stock, but better communication and letting customers know their options would have made a big difference. Thankfully, I called ahead to double-check that the Lemmon Valley location had the vaccines we needed before making the drive all the way from Fernley. I spoke with Roshane several times, and she was absolutely patient, pleasant, and helpful. She followed up and even ordered additional vaccines to make sure they would have enough on hand. She truly went out of her way to take care of her customers! When we arrived, Karina was also pleasant and helpful. She took the time to answer our questions and clarify the normal process that each location should be following, which helped explain some of the confusion we experienced at the Fernley pharmacy. A big THANK YOU to Roshane and Karina for providing such excellent customer service! They were both friendly, professional, and genuinely willing to help. Karina even acknowledged me regarding a separate concern and was able to have the Pharmacist speak to me regarding an allergy recommendation; he too was pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, that level of service hasn't been consistent at the Fernley Pharmacy, particularly with a couple of the pharmacy techs we've dealt with. Hopefully, this is something that can be addressed because good communication and customer service really do make a difference. So in Fernley I now pick up my RX from Walmart vs Walgreens.

I usually go to Walmart pharmacy but it was past 7 and i just got out of the doctors. I came here and I'm so glad I did! The 2 workers were super nice- they had my prescription ready literally in 5 mins after it was received. Also the pharmacist was super helpful and told me how to take it so that it absorbs better. To contrast, last time I got this medication at Walmart it was a horrible experience. The walmart pharmacy took over 20 minutes even though there was no one else there (I think the pharmacist did it on purpose). She also did NOT give me the absorption advice (even though it was my first time getting this medication). Even though Walmart is a few blocks closer to me, I think I will switch to Walgreens! These workers had a good attitude and were very efficient AND wore their face masks (unlike some other questionable places).
