This is one of my favorite stores to support. This store is essentially a giant home depot thrift store. I tend to forget to check this place out when I'm in a dire need of a home improvement item. I am not in the area much, but when I am I tend to find a lot of cool goodies. They do have a small section of thrift household items but overall they carry pretty new and lightly used items. Think of home depot returns, left overs from an over stocked store or even from a job site or home project. Anyways their mission statement and good they do and bring into the community is something I support. So in the future instead of tossing new/lightly used/good condition home items, see if they'll take it. If not come by and check this place out if you are doing some home or business renovations. I have picked up quite a bit of useful stuff for my home and new business. Everything from cleaning solutions to a brand new toilet plunger. Going to this place is like treasure hunting, you never know what your going to find! All the products for sale here are donated and the proceeds go to help local families with housing. From odds n ends like paintings, kitchen ware, to doors, windows, tools, and snow blowers. The staff is friendly and my money goes back into our community. They often have sales that make my savings even bigger as the items are already discounted. What more could you ask for. read more

The staff running the Facebook Marketplace sales need an education and or the store needs a policy change. They offered tools for sale and I agreed to their price. They accepted my offer at 2:37 and confirmed their address and hours. I advised I'd be there by 5. Arrived at 3:15 and was advised they sold the item one hour prior. No one working the floor had any clue to Marketplace sales. In a later Marketplace conversation someone advised it was store police to sell first come first serve no matter if they accepted the offer on Marketplace. Horrible business model!! read more

This store is basically a giant thrift store for hardware and building supplies. They have tile, screws, bathroom fixtures, toilets, bathtubs, doors, windows, and much more! Everything is priced significantly below retail pricing. It's a mix of brand new items and second hand items. We've bought lots of things here for small projects around our house. They do accept donations around the back of building during certain hours/days. The proceeds from the store go to Habitat for humanity. read more

The resale store at 530 Greenbrae Drive in Sparks is excellent for finding furniture and construction materials at a significantly reduced price. They also get a lot of interesting collectibles. Habitat for Humanity is getting a 22-unit housing development approved by the City of Reno. All proceeds from the Resale Store go to helping low-income families buy homes at zero percent interest and a much-reduced purchase price. You can shop at the Resale Store or donate online to help future families get a home. read more

Put in bathrooms for the public. Don't send them across the street. Especially people that just made a 2 and a 1/2 hour trip. Spend a few $1000 on cabinets to be told that we cannot use your restroom. read more

Tried to donate some very nice light fixtures. The young man at the drop off area said he could not accept them becsuse " They did not have a box" I tried to explain all light fixtures attach to an electical box on the house and when you remove the fixture, the box stays on the house. He was having none of that and copped an attitude with me. I soon tired of arguing with him and left, never to return. read more

Great place to drop off household items. The hours for donation drop off is limited but their mission is one that helps those in need to rebuild their lives. The mission is very important to me and I choose to support those organizations even if I need to drive a bit further to donate. I love repurposing and the ideals of Hab for Humanity - but today when I walked in there was a sign advertising 20% off everything in store....sometime between picking up several items and going to check out they "discontinued" the sale and would no longer give 20% off. It wasn't even the cost savings issue that bugged me - it was just bad business practice and unnecessary assholery. read more

Nasty workers. The cause may be good, but the donation receivers are just about as unfriendly and rude as they can be. It makes me wonder what the management is like. Is it a hostile environment? I like Habitat for Humanity and their mission. I have donated to them financially and materially since 1985. I often donate building materials and then often to browse at the Sparks store. I will not anymore. For the third time now that I have tried to donate, the attendants have slooooowly picked through what was in my truck to donate. Today, I had a floor sander, 4 flat shovels, some yard edging, a lawn spreader, a leveling rake, etc. This stuff was in usable shape, I just did not need it. I have seen what they put on the floor and 75% of it is crap. I had two boxes of NEW electrical fittings. I will not bother with them again. There are plenty of other worthwhile charities in town! read more

Do you like shmying (Yiddish Germanic word meaning to look, casually look around) in hardware & tool shops? Do you like thrift shops? I have the place for you! Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity. It's a thrift shop dedicated to hardware, building materials, vintage items and other stuff like a blue bathtub! When you go there, look around. Don't go there thinking they are a hardware store. They don't stock items like that. They are a thrift store dedicated to construction items. They may have something you can use, they may not. On this trip, they had brand new door knobs and door entry sets. They even have used appliances and LCD TVs. This is a place to come when buying something used won't bother you or can't be seen. But, remember, stop by here first before going to the DIY store. You may save a bundle or spend some time. I know, you're wondering if I found something. I didn't find what I was looking for. But, I did find sever audio cables that were very inexpensive and they work great! Location: It's easy to find this place. Starting from 80, head north on Pyramid Hwy, just as you would when headed to Pyramid Lake, when you get to Greenbrae (stop light), make a right and it's in the shopping center on the left. ---------------- Bottom Line Yes, I like looking for deals and this place is the place to do that. Since it's like a thrift shop, you need to come back often since their stock changes weekly, even daily! read more

Since my last review I have relocated to Reno and hadn't given this place much of a thought until I needed a dining table to stage a home and searched for thrift shops nearby. Since my last visit the ReStore has also relocated and really improved. I found the perfect table and at a great price. All there furniture happened to be an extra percentage off the marked price and I believe the cashier told me that they have a "ladies night" discount once a week (Thursday's, maybe?) I didn't have time to look around on that visit but the guys in back were really helpful with getting the table and let me borrow a screwdriver so I could take the center leg off to make it fit in the car better. I recently popped in on a day off so I could see more of what they had to offer. The store is large and very well organized. Some items were marked really high and had been marked down several times on the tag. Other items were marked really low. They had about 15 large armoires probably from a local hotel/casino for $10 each! I n left empty handed but I'll be more motivated to pop in regularly in the future. read more

I have such mixed reviews on this store. When they're good, they're SO GOOD. I find the best treasures here when luck is on my side. But they make arbitrary decisions like closing for the day because it snowed (really?) and right now they're not taking donations for at least the next 12 days - who knows how long ago they cut off accepting - "for inventory". What?? So not only are they turning away perfectly good materials... they're still open and the selection inside is absolutely pitiful. Seems like management could be a lot more ambitious in their endeavors. read more

Most of the items in the store are gently used and used but still have some life left in them, it is good to know that we have a place like Habitat for Humanity to recycle these items into their new-found life. With all the items in store, some skilled handyman could build a storage-shed space easily. My husband and I love to browse through the store and see what they got. Not the best one I've been to as it has a limited selection of stuff. No furniture, lots of ex-/overflow building materials. Some bargains to be had, but like other H4H locations, pricing on many items was higher than retail, so they need to do pricing better and less stuff will gather dust. Horrible customer service. I was spoiled living in Spokane with exceptional customer service. I literally built half my house from the Habitat Store. But, now I live outside Winnemucca, Nevada. The nearest Habitat store is 3 hours away in Sparks (Reno). First the manager at the entrance said. "You have to wear a mask or get out." Yes, "get out"--after the state lifted the mask requirement. That set a very bad precedent. Next, he would not honor original Home Depot markdown tag on a window from $161 to $85 nor mark down 50% from new as is their standard. I told him his rudeness and horrible customer service was going to cost him. So...I continued. I filled a shopping cart full of over 300 tiny items scattered across the store, took off my mask and waited for it to come. Here he came, scowling and announcing loudly for the entire store to hear. "I told you to wear a mask so get out." I pushed the cart toward him and said, "Here is your pay back. Enjoy the cost of labor of putting all this away." He was speechless. Turned pictures of window with tag and written account into corporate. No response after 3 weeks. Habitat for Humanity will never get another dollar from me. read more

I'm used to Habitat Stores that are busting at the seams with building materials, old stuff, new stuff, junk, and vintage treasures. Not sure what the issue is here - but I expected with all the growth and new construction around Sparks this store would have more selection. The store is very sparse. Maybe Reno/Sparks isn't very generous with donations, maybe this Habitat region needs to step up their outreach/community engagement/marketing.I'm not sure why they are so sadly different from their counterparts, but I am sure I won't make a special trip over here next time I need a new door. read more

They said they had too much lighting fixtures and they weren't taking anymore. They said that they had to have a meeting about it. i had a very very very scary and bad experience with one of their employees, who threatened my son in the parking lot and when i complained HE told me to leave the store and never come back. my son is mentally disabled and autistic. the man, named Cory had NO business making him open the car door to talk to him. he lied to me about the situation saying he just asked my son a question. but he, his dog and 3 other men approached my son in my car in a threatening manner. i don't know what would have happened if i hadn't come out when i did and seen them surrounding him. i called the office and made a huge complaint. also did one their FB page. i was happily surprised to have somebody get in touch with me bright and early this morning. Christine (Assistant Director) called me and is working with me about the situation. also on their FB page Jeannine (Marketing and Events Coordinator) responded to my complaint there. so things have been really positive and i look forward to going back and shopping at the store once this matter is all cleared up. it's refreshing to see a business react the way they are supposed to, instead of brushing it under the rug or just telling US not to come back. customer service is so bad these days i was more shocked by the good response than the bad employee. read more

First of all, don't get me wrong. I am not a person that needs to be waited on hand and foot. I must say though, trying to volunteer here was the hardest thing I have tried to do in a while. I was motivated to help out, having a decent handle on most aspects of building. I was also laid off, so I figured it would be a good time to help out. But getting my foot in the door was like pulling teeth. I brought in my application and waiver, and the lady seemed nice enough. She said they needed lots of help to get a house done. Before leaving, she said they would call to schedule. Two weeks go by and no call. So I call her back to see if I can go to work. She tells me to call the construction manager. The construction manager in turn tells me to call a certain volunteer. I leave a voicemail and get no response for weeks. In short, it seems like they lack coordination, and some people might find it difficult. I returned to full time work before I could ever help read more

I read the the post on Facebook as well as this one and I've been going to Habitat for a year now and Cory has been always courteous and helpful when I see him. I always leave the store happier when I've had an inter action with him. And every time my grandson and I drive past Habitat he's always asking me if we can go visit Cory and Mackenzie. So for this woman to bashing Cory all over social media is absolutely ridiculous. I have a friend with two autistic children who I have brought into the store and they took to Cory and his dog immediately. He had both those boys not wanting to leave. They have the biggest smiles on their faces every time they get to visit the store. Cory has a very even temper when it comes to dealing with upset customers and there is no way he went after this lady and her son in a threatening manner. He had every right to check to see if his car was was being threatened. Had he known the son was mentally ill he most likely would of brushed it off. And that your son is a boy trapped in a man's body, then why would you ever leave your son in the car unattended in a dark parking lot, I would never leave my grandson like that especially if he had special needs. This is not this woman's first rodeo complaining about businesses she does this for a hobby. Every yelp review she's done is a negative review. And it's kind of weird that as soon as there was a positive post about Cory, reviews have been eliminated off the habitat facebook page. read more

Was shopping around and decided to browse in habitats for humanity the other day to look for cabinets and furniture. HUGE MISTAKE!!! This tall monstrous woman was yelling at her workers atrociously but didn't appear to be doing anything but expecting people to do her job for her. Appalled by this experience I asked an employee off to the side who the angry cyclops was and was shocked to find out she was the manager and her name was Kristine ? I didn't buy anything and left infuriated that she thought it was okay to one talk to the employees in the way she did and the fact that she was expecting them to do so much when she was basically sitting on her ass well I guess standing but you get the jist. read more

I go in there today to look around. I see an item that I like. I go to pay for it and while I do, I ask them if they have more. The guy in charge says yes. I ask him to bring them out and I will take all. "NO" he replies. I say "but I want to buy them" He tells me I cant because they have to process them. "But I want to buy them NOW!" "Come back later or tomorrow." "But they will dissappear before I come back" I explained. "No they wont" he assured me. I call later that afternoon and sure enough they are processed and gone" What a bunch of jerks! read more
