Jesus, please tell me these are served in Heaven!

My daughter and I came here on a Thursday because we were in the mood for burgers after a morning and afternoon of thrifting. It was our first time here, and I had the bacon cheeseburger and she had the smash burger. If the burger I had isn't considered one of the best burgers in Wilmington, then there's something wrong with my taste buds! The bun wasn't a typical hamburger bun; it had a roasted buttery taste and glaze to it. And the patty was THICK and cooked to a perfect medium-well like I requested, and coated with melted cheese! The crispiness of the edge of the meat combined with the warm, smooth cheese, along with the red onions, bacon, and sauce made for an incredible tasting burger! Next time, I think I'll ask for just a tad bit more sauce though. The seasoned fries were hot and excellent. I should also comment about the water we drank--it was poured into our glasses from an already-chilled bottle, so no ice was needed! The establishment was clean and lit with natural lighting from the extensive windows that make up the entire front of the restaurant. Tony, our host and server, was extremely welcoming, friendly, and attentive. I asked him to let the kitchen staff know how much we loved our burgers, and he even boxed and bagged up our leftovers (I WANTED to eat the entire burger then and there, but I would have stretched my belly way too much!). You have every reason to eat here, so go. Right. Now. :)

No reservations were needed for our party of four on a Friday evening and we also sat outside. The cocktails were superb with many refreshing options and an extensive whisky list for those dark liquor lovers. The salmon was perfect. Charred on the outside and slightly moist and tender on the inside. Lovely dish a la carte. The potatoes paired with the asparagus nicely. My only recommendation would be to have some type of sauce bed for the salmon. Dessert chosen was a gluten free carrot cake with the right amount of sweetness in the icing. Such a great choice to end a lovely night and great dinner.

I decided to go to True Blue Butcher and Barrel restaurant tonight, and I'm glad I made that decision. It's a very casual spot in terms of vibe, but definitely not in terms of the food they serve. The cuts of meat are displayed beautifully, and the quality is superb. We were greeted by Mitchell, our server, who was not only personable and engaging but also well-versed in the True Blue Butcher Barrel brand. He easily recommended various cocktails based on our spirit of choice, as well as food options. Everything was absolutely delicious! My nephew had the ribeye, while my niece and I had the New York strip. We opted for macaroni and cheese, asparagus, french fries, and mushrooms as our sides. For dessert, we indulged in the tart and the carrot cake. I absolutely cannot wait until I'm in town again just so I can visit this spot.

I stopped in for a lunch break today and was able to sit outside on the patio. One side is open to the sun, and the other side is covered. Servers were very nice but not that knowledgeable about certain items on the salad I ordered. I opted for the one girls recommendation of the Harlssa salmon salad. The salmon was really good, but I truly wasn't a huge fan of all the pickled things on it. It was a little much. I really miss the burrata salad. It was a really nice size portion and I had plenty to take home. On the check they add a 3% kitchen appreciation charge Just be aware of that- I didn't mind, but I can't imagine having a huge party and a really big bill cause that extra 3% will add up.

We decided to try a new place for lunch and we were not disappointed! True Blue is an instant favorite! We shared the 10oz. Waygu burger special and it was delicious. So were the fries and the simple side salad with herbs, tomato confit and a sherry vinaigrette dressing. Highly recommend! The ambience is cozy & funky. The wallpaper in the bathroom was worth the visit. And our server, Maddy, was exceptional. You really should go. *Oh and, they have several non beef or meat selections, too.

Went for a late dinner on a Saturday night. Parking was a nightmare. We ended up in an overflow gravel lot next door after circling the block twice. Our server was very knowledgeable, especially about all the bourbons. The old fashioned was top notch. No beers on tap. Local selections are by the can. I had the asparagus salad which had lots of fresh greens. I asked for the asparagus to be roasted and they gladly accommodated me. The green goddess dressing didn't taste like much. I'd recommend selecting a different dressing. Others in my group had the smash burger and the Carolina hot chicken which were both enjoyed.

What a Great little place. It is a more relaxed feel than the other location but same type of nuevo bistro/industrial feel . We sat at the bar the way we always do and we were served by Jasmine, service was amazing , the wife and I shared the Smash Burger and Fries and the burger was perfect. The fries were like they had them under a heat lamp and not cooked fresh, this did not detract from the flavor, they were very good just not hot and fresh. They have bourbon that goes on forever and so darn good. The only other issue is they use the end of the bar we were sitting at to conduct business and socialize, it did not bother me but the wife wife was a little taken aback by it. Bobby, has a good thing going and we need to see his new bakery soon. Keep up the good work. We will be back to visit with Jasmine and Tori (mngr?) soon but maybe further down the bar..lol

Absolutely amazing service and the food was flawless! I am a chef and I ate at the one near landfall with a manufacturer rep. The server was amazing and knew all The correct terminology to use in describing the menu and the specials. The food was flavorful, well seasoned and well balanced. Cheers to the entire team! Seriously well done!

Ya'll i have truly eaten some amazing food this weekend . Went to True Blue Butcher and Barrel last night for some friends for dinner. We had the most amazing server named James who was just awesome. He guided us through the drinks and recommended his favorite (Call your Mother), was Woodford, cherry liquor and some citrus. With a large variety of bourbons, the cocktails tended to be bourbon specific which I appreciated. Besides having an extensive bourbon menu, they also have a lengthy wine and beer list and Niagara sparking water. Since we had gotten appetizers next door at Second Glass we just ordered dinner. I ordered the smash burger and Brussel spouts, my husband ordered the special Kobe beef burger, as did our friend, and his wife ordered the pork chop. Our meals were amazing. The burgers, especially the Kobe beef, tasted like butter. My husband proclaimed that it was the best burger he's ever eaten. It was that good. The pork chop was smoky and flavorful and the Brussel sprouts were the best I've ever had. James was funny and attentive and just really good at his job. He recommended dessert so based on his suggestion we had the bread pudding and the peanut butter and jelly Creme brûlée. The bread pudding was good, nothing remarkable, but the Creme brûlée was unlike anything we'd ever tasted. Jam on the bottom and a peanuts butter custard- it was sublime.

Came here for lunch in a weekday . There was wait and we're seated promptly. It was a very trendy atmosphere and service was excellent. Lobster roll was great! Came with a side of melted butter and a lightly dressed salad. Their was marinated tomatoes and garlic in the salad. Really light and tasty dish. The lobster roll was good too. My friend enjoyed the burger (it was huge). Overall, it was a very enjoyable lunch.

If you've been to True Blue Butcher & Table- this is it's more casual sister restaurant! Butcher & Barrel is located in one of my favorite wilmy neighborhoods- in this surrounding area you can find plenty of gems, all within a walking distance. The service was spectacular and the vibes were great. The patio seating outside is going to be great for weeks like this where the weather is exceptional. The drink menu has just about something for everyone- even non alcoholic beer too! The most highlighted drink choice here is bourbon & whiskey. They have a vast menu of options for those that love their bourbon & whiskey. The food menu is so unique and has options from starters & snacks, all the way to dessert. There are so many options, each with flavors that mesh well together- you're sure to get something tasty whatever you choose. I wasn't too hungry so I wanted to go with the kebab, but they were unfortunately out for the day. The waitress recommended the pork belly buns, she said they're quite popular. I've never had pork belly, nor a steamed bun but I thought- eh why not?! Wow wow wow- yeah order these! whether you share them, or quite honestly it was enough for a small meal with the salad it paired with. I didn't realize there was a small salad on the side, so I also ordered a side salad. Both my salad and the buns were delicious. The sauce on the pork belly, paired with the crispy veggies & soft bun was an unstoppable combo. My husband went with a option of the brunch menu- popcorn chicken & waffles! The chicken was moist yet crispy and the waffles were exceptional. There was a taste in the waffles we couldn't quite put our tastebuds on- but a staff member let us in on the secret- ginger! We would have never guessed it, but it was a nice surprise to the taste. This was a great spot for drinks & snacks with friends, date night, a business lunch or anything else! Give it a chance, I think you'll be pleased.

The Cajun penne pasta had a slight kick- mostly more for flavor than for heat. The calamari was perfectly crispy paired with a delicious tomato based sauce. The ahi tuna was sliced to perfection and tasted same-day fresh. The bread and butter even was delicious, was that cinnamon sugar in it? Yum! The truffle mac and cheese and the brussel sprouts were our standout favorite sides, both had a punch of flavor and were perfectly prepared. The crab cake had an interesting sauce flavor profile, almost like pickles, definitely unique and added a lot of interest to the dish. I also ordered the hibiscus spritz mocktail which was light and fresh, perfect for a hot summer evening. Our server was prompt and friendly, she anticipated needs like refills and informed us on the off menu specials. The view of the river is why we picked this place, but the food will have us coming back again and again!

What a fantastic evening at Dram Yard…read more We were a little concerned we might miss our 5:30 reservation after getting delayed by a seven-car accident on the bridge, but we arrived just a couple of minutes late and it wasn't an issue at all. From the moment we arrived, the experience was relaxed, welcoming, and exactly what we needed. We chose to sit in the beautiful courtyard, and with temperatures in the 70s, sunshine overhead, and a gentle breeze, it couldn't have been a more perfect setting. The outdoor gazebo bar creates a wonderful atmosphere for enjoying a cocktail before dinner, and if the weather isn't cooperating, the indoor dining space is equally inviting. A special thank you to Sarah, whose service was outstanding. She was cheerful, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The restaurant wasn't crowded, which made for a peaceful and unhurried dining experience. For drinks, I ordered the Ghost Town, while my wife enjoyed the Venus Flytrap. Both were beautifully prepared and easy to see why they're among the restaurant's popular cocktails. The food was equally impressive. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara, and it was exceptional. The kitchen even accommodated my request for extra freshly cracked black pepper, which took an already excellent dish to another level. My wife ordered the Little Gem Salad with shrimp, and it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We also shared the Tuna Tartare Tostada, which was outstanding--beautiful presentation, fresh tuna, and a great balance of textures and flavors. Adding to the experience was a bottle of Albariño that paired wonderfully with the meal. What stands out most about Dram Yard is its atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can settle in, slow down, enjoy a handcrafted cocktail, and forget about the stresses of the day. Whether you're looking for a date night, an evening with friends, or simply a quiet place to relax, Dram Yard delivers. Excellent service, creative cocktails, outstanding food, and one of the most relaxing outdoor dining spaces in Wilmington. We'll definitely be back.

This was the 3rd time we've been here. The first two times we did not make it to the table because…read moreof the service. They generally do not care about the customer at all. The star of the show is definitely the food. The chef is super proud of his food, and he should be. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 on food instead of a 5 is because there was no iced tea (in the summer in the carolinas - not really forgivable) the water was nasty and the biscuits on my Benedict were towards the burnt side on the bottom. Honestly, everything otherwise was amazing. What was really great: The restaurant itself is AMAZING! It's like being transported to a Parisian cafe. I love that when you walk in, you immediately see the fully in view kitchen. I'm assuming a chef owns the restaurant and designed the layout. The patio is quaint and delightful and surprisingly private for a downtown sidewalk restaurant. The eggs on my Eggs Benedict could not have been more perfect. I'm not a fried potato person; however, the pan fried potatoes here are mostly whole and they are out of this world. They were exceedingly crispy on the outside and completely soft on the inside. My son ordered the dutch baby. It was delicious. The accompanied fruit was perfect and truly ripe. I feel like they would have to toss a lot of fruit to get the ones that were truly that perfect. What did not work: The water - it was about 85 degrees out and humid. There is nothing here refreshing. Water is served European style meaning no ice and out of the tap. Warm tap water on a hot day in South Carolina is just nasty. It's ironic that while Europeans visiting the US for the World Cup are posting social media reels raving about ice in drinks in the United States, meanwhile The Dram Yard is insisting on pulling all of the worst parts of eating out in Europe into their restaurant. I truly dislike restaurants that serve canned and bottled beverages. It screams, "nickel and dime". If you bought your cans of soda at Costco and charged $4.00 for a can, I'd have to drink 9 cans before you're losing money. There is literally no reason to limit beverages other than driving higher profits. I hate price gouging. At the very least get a fountain and serve iced tea. SERVICE - the service staff simply makes you feel like they're doing you a favor by being open. Don't expect anything after that. When we arrived, the restaurant was at about 25% capacity with 2 food servers, who also double as the hostess. After waiting 10 minutes to be seated (yes...even at 25% capacity), service truly went downhill from there. It wasn't that the staff was rude. They were just not present and extremely slow. It honestly seemed like they were doing everything they could to not be seen. We needed salt, a refill of the water carafe and our check. That was it. The staff would come to our part of the dining room but then not even glance around or come by to see if we needed anything. I'm giving them a 2 because they were exceedingly slow and not present. When we did chase them down, I felt rude asking for help. The chef delivered our food. He was very proud and should be. However, here's the rub. The chef needs to learn that being in the restaurant business is not only about creating great food. It also requires front of house service and an overall dining experience that people are happy with. Right now, I'm walking away feeling: 1. great food and great atmosphere 2. terrible service 3. nickle and dimed me on drinks 4. doesn't have the sense to serve iced tea in the Caronlinas So - as much as I loved the food - there are too many restaurants in Wilmington that are good enough to overcome 2, 3 and 4 above. The Dram could be fixed so easily: 1. hire servers who want to be there and smile a little 2. put ice in your water 3. serve iced tea - at least in the summer months 4. get a soda fountain - it's 2026 Unfortunately, we won't be back because there are simply other options that, at the very least, hit 1, 2 and 3 with good food.

We had hoped to surprise my wife, but she figured it out the night before. Wm was just as disappointed as I was, but stayed in touch throughout the planning process and made sure everything still went smoothly. The attention to detail and professionalism were greatly appreciated. Our server, Jeffrey, was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and never intrusive. He kept everything moving at the perfect pace and made our entire table feel well taken care of. Our group ordered several different dishes, including the Arthur Ave. beef rib sugo with cavatelli, the Cacio Me If You Can house-made spaghetti with mushrooms, cheese, pepper, and pine nuts, and the Rural Swine featuring North Carolina pork. Every single plate was excellent. There wasn't a bad meal on the table. The wine selections paired beautifully with dinner, and the complimentary olive oil birthday cake was a thoughtful touch that ended the evening perfectly. The restaurant itself deserves recognition as well. The atmosphere is elegant without feeling pretentious. I especially appreciated the warm, darker interior with exposed brick, comfortable seating, and a welcoming feel. It has character and feels inviting rather than the typical bright white subway-tile bistro that so many restaurants seem to imitate today. The dining room was comfortable, the bar was beautiful, and even the restrooms were spotless and well maintained. Seeing the AAA Four Diamond awards displayed made perfect sense after experiencing the restaurant firsthand. Most importantly, we spent a wonderful evening celebrating my wife's birthday with good friends, and Manna provided the perfect setting for those memories. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommended.
