I'm so glad I got to make a trip to come out all the way over here on my birthday. I just wish they had a closer location! This is to-go, no seating indoors. Besides baked goods, they had wine, some fresh meat, coffee, spices, etc. They had a few different kinds of sourdough bread and focaccia bread, croissants, apple cider donuts, challah bread, cinnamon rolls, cookies, and pies. I tried apple cider doughnut, herb garlic challah bread, tomato pesto Parmesan focaccia, ham and cheese croissant, honey almond cream croissant, chocolate croissant, and cinnamon roll. The apple cider donut was too "wet", tasted like it was under cooked. I liked the challah bread, focaccia, Croissants, and cinnamon rolls. I would get these again. The prices were reasonable, but the breads were pricey at $11. read more

High quality baked goods, but pricey. The croissants and chocolate au pain were both cooked to perfection... crunchy and flaky exterior, and light and airy interior. Both buttery and chocolate to bread ratio was exactly as it should be. They do use a sweet glaze on their croissants. Not the best location but nice to have one closer to Topsail! read more

I drove 1.5 hrs to this business to purchase steaks for myself and friends. I purchased 3 fillets and one ribeye. One friend likes her steak very well done which usually means shoe leather tough. Not these. All our steaks even the well done were cut with a butter knife they were that tender. The flavor was outstanding. I'm a steak sauce person but not on these steaks. This review should be 5/5 stars. However, our experience was ruined by the cashier. She had a fair attitude with us but was so rude to a man who walked in and asked if they had a dining room. Clearly he was looking for one of the other locations. She responded to him in a very demeaning way. My friend and I felt bad for hours for not saying something to her. The cinnamon roll was tasty but I probably won't go out of my way to come here again. If I'm in Hampstead I might stop but not worth a special trip for that experience. read more

We bought a loaf of their "kalamata olive sourdough" at the Wilmington Coffee Fest this past weekend. The bread was very spongy with an open crumb, tons of olives and a shattering crust. We have so far used it for savory tartines (avocado toast!), croûtons for our homemade Ceasar Salade. We have a cool ritual it's to bring back home a piece of Bread from every little trip we make so we were convinced by yours and it makes us so happy because we cook a lot of different way so thanks again 5 stars for you. Stopped in here a few weeks back to pick up some fresh bread, fresh focaccia, and what I was hoping for some nice sliced meats. Well they had no pre-packaged cured meats so I opted just for the bread. I could not have been more disappointed in the money that I spent if I would have just lost it! The bread and focaccia was certainly not fresh. Not baked that day. Maybe baked that week.... But that's not why you go to a bakery. You don't go for day-old bread. You don't go for week-old bread, which by the way I considered pricey. I got home and I took 1 bite of each and threw everything out. North Carolina is not the place to expect the quality I'm accustomed to. What a disgrace!!! Never again. read more

When I heard True Blue was opening up a butcher shop closer to where I live I was so excited! I am not disappointed. You can get the same cuts that you can get down at true blue down in the Ogden area and also some great bakery items. They offer a variety of bakery items such as blondies, cookies, rolls and my favorite sourdough bread! The also have a great selection of local beer and rubs the come from Asheville. If you are a steak lover like myself and love to cook them at home. I highly recommend coming in to this place and picking up some for dinner. You will not be disappointed and the great staff working there are so happy and helpful. They open at 10 am to stop on in! read more

I really wanted a good bread to have with my mortadella... So i learned about this place today and my family and I drove 35 min. We bought an italian loaf, 2 challah buns and a cubano bun. We also bought several pastries. I paid almost $50 for all of it. I really would have preferred to send an email but I cannot find one online. I don't think I have ever been so upset and actually angry that I wasted $50 and more than an hour of drive time for such poor quality of food... The italian loaf was so dry and dense. Maybe it was old? I cannot believe they would sell that... They should be embarrassed :/ The challah buns were so dry. A Challah bun! How do you mess that up except that it's not fresh bead... I didn't even try the cubano bun - we cut into it and it was harder than a rock and so dense. :/ We received 2 ham and cheese croissants... no ham and no cheese. Like.. at all. We ate those in the car on the drive home and we said okay maybe its just a mishap. So we try to hazelnut croissant and.... nothing. Zero filling. Just a plain croissant with a few hazelnuts on top. Same with the apple turnover... I mean my wife and I thought this must be insanity and maybe the baker was exhausted baking - but no filling in the apple turnover! We bought 2 chocolate croissants and only 1 of them had chocolate inside... The kids were so disappointed. What a terrible experience. Major waste of our time and money. Their saving grace was the friendly staff - but it doesn't make up for the $50 I spent on bread and pastries that went straight to the trash. I ate my mortadella on sandwich sliced bread from the grocery store instead. Ugh... read more

Carbs, oils, wine, I wish I could eat this all day everyday! I drive by this cute little shop off of 17 all the time and I'm so glad I stopped in! We only bought bread, but oh my goodness the flavors of this bread! We will definitely be back to try the rest. read more

LOVE everything that they have! Any of their focaccia breads are great to have for a party. Ham and cheese croissants heated up in the oven for a few minutes are a must. Still making our way through trying all the danishes but haven't had one we didn't like. Love coming on Saturdays for the farmers market!
