They are given water and food on regular schedules. We have adopted from Seattle Humane two times now. I would've given them 5 stars except for this policy of letting potential adopters take their time keeping a dog on hold while others wait. Here was our recent experience: We found, met, played with a dog that we instantly loved and would've adopted immediately. But we were told that these three sisters (or maybe they were friends) had put their name in ahead of us to visit with this same dog. However, this group of 3 girls also had put in their name to see two other dogs. So Seattle Humane told us we had to wait until these girls visited with all three dogs and then we had to wait until they made up their minds! There was NO TIME LIMIT for them to decide. We are experienced dog owners and have been for 50 years. We knew we wanted this particular dog. She was gentle, got along with kids and other dogs, etc etc. TWO HOURS LATER ( no exaggeration), those three girls decided they wanted the dog that we wanted. We were happy for them, but why did Seattle Humane waste our time? Why didn't they have time limits? These girls wanted to look at all three dogs. What if they wanted to look at 10? I asked if Seattle Humane could call us if the dog was available and we could go home and wait. They said no they don't do things like that. I'll always donate to them because of the animals. Not because of this idiotic policy of letting potential owners take their time. And btw, they don't vet potential owners like other rescues do. I wish they would for the sake of the animal.

WHY are you open til 6 if you dont even do anything past 4? on top of that it is $210 to adopt a kitten, $100 smthn for a 1-7 year old, and $75 for a senior if i'm remembering correctly. these are some of the most expensive prices from any shelter i've seen, and you have FOUR HOURS a day to show up, meet the animal you want to adopt, and decide you want to adopt them. and most of the days they're open are weekdays, when the hours they're open do mot WORK for most people with jobs! so if you show up at 4 pm on a saturday to meet a kitten like us, you cant actually adopt them and told "oh just come when we open at noon on tuesday!" that is insane, genuinely. also it's called seattle humane when it's in bellevue and as someone from actual seattle that annoys me :)

YELP COMPLAINT AGAINST SIAN, GINGER'S PET RESCUE'S CURRENT OWNER…read more I adopted my second dog from Ginger's Pet Rescue on April 16, 2025. In the case of my new dog, I had to pick only from a photo (from Korea) on the website, sight unseen. Upon receipt of the dog (Millie), she arrived with 7 cracked teeth and both back knees were outside of their sockets (patella luxation), an apparent birth defect (information the vet diagnosed later). Allegedly, the new owner of Ginger's Pet Rescue knew nothing about Millie's health concerns. Sian said all the Korean vet was responsible for, was to administer its required vaccinations. Unfortunately, Ginger Luke passed away a while ago and this very much impacted my poor experience with the new owner, Sian. Upon taking my dog (Millie) to the vet, I found out her health issues (7 cracked teeth, patella luxation). I contacted Sian and from my first interaction she was very negative, I felt she was trying to bully me, she was very aggressive and rude. First, Sian said the only thing she would do is to send Millie back to Korea to have the work done by the Korean vet. In addition, I had to pay an additional $1,000 for someone to escort her back to Korea. Sian's explanation was that she is billed on a monthly basis so she could pay Millie's bill on a monthly basis ( irrelevant and not my problem). * I had just come from a cruise in Korea and the plane ride was 14 hours one-way. I felt it was unnecessarily cruel and inhumane to make the dog travel for 28 hours to/from Korea when she just arrived. * I asked if Millie could be treated by a local vet and this was absolutely not an option, per Sian. * The big difference is Ginger's Pet Rescue no longer sends dogs from other countries before they are adopted (so people cannot take the animal to a local vet). They no longer have foster parents. When Ginger was alive, foster parents were very happy to foster dogs who would eventually be adopted in the U.S. * Regardless of whether I sent Millie back to Korea or I wanted to return Millie, I would have to keep her until it was convenient for them to take her off my hands. o Obviously, the longer I had to keep Millie, the more attached I became to her. * Sian said she would not give me a refund. I complained to the Luke family and it was through the Lukes that Sian clearly, begrudgedly agreed to give my money back. It was obvious Sian was very angry because she stated repeatedly that they will not and have not ever given refunds. The end of the story was that I felt I had to keep Millie. One of the reasons why I have not completed this Yelp complaint letter until now is because: 1) the 7 tooth extractions cost me a total of over $2,000 and 2) Millie has had to be operated on both back legs and this has cost be over $18,000. This could have been avoided if I was able to take Millie to a local vet and if Sian disclosed her health issues. The adoption process was such a very negative experience for me, and I will never again use this pet rescue ever again. Others considering adoption from this pet rescue need to be forewarned prior to using them. Someone needs to change the name of Ginger's Pet Rescue because this is no longer a credible organization. Ginger built such a positive reputation and she truly was concerned with the animals' well-being. I would have loved to remember Ginger's Pet Rescue as Ginger left it, before she passed. I had ample time to interact with each cat that I was interested in potentially adopting ... in a private room supplied with treats and toys. The staff was very kind and helpful and answered all of my questions. Tiana stole my heart so I took her home with me and she has been a wonderful addition to our family. I took her to our vet within a week of adoption to establish care and get a booster for one of her vaccines. Our vet doc and staff were very impressed with how well Tiana had been cared for by MEOW, especially given the circumstances from which MEOW had rescued her. We are so grateful for the wonderful work that they do.

I replied to say definitely and ask what times work best. Weeks later and I still haven't heard back from them. Obviously the cat was adopted by someone else as it's no longer on their website. Sending me a simple note to let me know would've been the considerate, professional thing to do, not leaving me hanging. I'm still looking to adopt, but due to this experience I'm no longer considering this organization.

I was supposed to attend a goat yoga…read moreclass quite some time ago but had to cancel (boo) so I'm glad I got the chance to come back. My friend and I were trying to find a fun summer activity for the kids and brought up coming here, so we did. It's in a kind of random area in Renton, tucked away and definitely a hidden little gem if you don't already know about them. Parking lot is a tad small and only portable bathrooms are available, but they were clean and they had outdoor sinks for use. It's free to come here which is really cool, but definitely plan to bring at least $5 for animal food. Each pail costs that much, and all profits go back to keeping the farm running. You're able to buy shirts, stuffies, and some other small things as well. The staff are all really nice. They offered us a map which we kindly declined, as it's easy to just follow the path throughout the farm. You start off with looking at cute animals like different birds, bunnies, etc. They have a handful of mini horses that you're not supposed to feed as they can nip, but they were very social and literally came right to us. Of course we all had the most fun with the animals we could feed, which was mostly a variation of different goats. They have some of all sizes and they are all so sweet and have the cutest personalities. I also loved the highland cow, Daisy, but she kept her distance. We also loved the pigs! They also seemed so happy to see people and had their tails wagging. There is another fun area at the end that's essentially a petting zoo that you can walk into and hang out with the smaller goats while they play around and ask for food. One part that we didn't visit was at the far end that had some picnic tables and a small playground set. I'd say the max age for the playground was probably about 2, so I kept my kids away from over there, but it could be fun for the little ones! Overall this was a really fun find and really cool to see the work they're doing here. We'd definitely come back and support!

There were countless times when multiple volunteers (sometimes six or more) agreed that an animal needed medical attention, yet those concerns were ignored and dismissed by Diane and management. This was incredibly frustrating for those of us who spent significant time directly caring for these loving animals and witnessing their day-to-day condition, to later see them suffer and pass away.

They give accurate descriptions of their dogs because they want their dogs to truly fit in their new families. The fosters also train and help the dogs learn how to be a family member. Forgotten Dogs rescued our dog the day before she was going to be put down. She was overlooked at the animal shelter because she was cowering in the back of her cage, was droopy from having nursed puppies and she is a black dog. Her mid-section firmed up and she gained confidence and really blossomed with the security of her foster home. She is an incredible dog, cute, smart, and is very expressive. I waited through a list of 8 people and when I got to the top i was randomly dropped to number 5 again. I waited again. the third time i was at the top, I went to the adoption center they said my name was nowhere on the list at all. it went on and on! I was there for 2 hours of this. I know that you are underfunded but really--why is this so bizarrely inept and broken? Just make a PAPER LIST and call us, like a restaurant hostess would do. We didn't adopt, but we will from a good organization. And the place we adopt from will also receive our donation money.

She had been well treated, and we are very thankful that they found her and gave her a good safe place until we could come get her. My son said that she was so excited to see him. Last year, our kids were given two gerbils who were around four years old, so when nature took its course (RIP Nibbles and Snugs), they were heartbroken. After holding a memorial service and cleaning out the cage, they looked up at me with hopeful eyes and a "Dad... do you think maybe...?" Yeah yeah, OK. There are lots of big box pet stores in the area, but I'm making the assumption that a smaller local shop likely treats their animals better and hopefully sources more ethically too. In any case, I'd rather shop local when I can and the prices are competitive. I called to see if they had any gerbils available and Aela let us know that they had some males in store. She said to ask for her when we came by. About an hour later, we dropped by and found Aela. She brought the gerbils out in their enclosure and was great not only with the animals, but my very excited children as well. She answered our questions and seemed to really enjoy her job, which makes it so much more fun for everyone involved. She took care of getting them in a box with some bedding and sent us off with smiles all around. I'm so thankful that Denny's is part of the neighborhood, and for great employees like Aela who make the experience fun.
