When I first met Taylor at my estimate I only planned on getting " just" an estimate. I was planning on getting more estimates for my two bathroom remodels. Her knowledge and presentation sold me on NorCal's capabilities and she left with my approval to start my project. And my bathrooms were original 1959 style with my shower feeling like a full yellow ceramic cage!! Ugh!!! Then my project manager, Tim, measured for the job!! I could tell he knew his stuff! I paid a pretty penny for this remodel. It's not worth the money. The shower does look good, though. Contacted Tim, Ivan, and Denise to resolve these issues mentioned on the pictures. But they tried to charge more, saying it wasn't part of the contract. $2000 more for electrical and 300 more for the baseboard. John K came provided options and estimate on project, which we signed on, had paperwork filled out same day. Tim-Project Manager came to measure and explain process. Miles, Denise sent updates on permit and scheduling of start of renovation. On actual day of project start, Tim with installers-Gabor and Balint came on time, explained plan, efficient and fast. Took only 3 days to complete the renovation-adding shower to convert Half bath to a Full bathroom. That's including city inspector visit on day 2. I found NorCal Remodeling Group online while looking for someone to work on our shower remodel. We met with Will within the same week I put in a request for a quote. Will was knowledgeable about their products, and I appreciated how he gave me a heads up that with the changes we wanted, there may be some additional cost that would be uncovered depending on any damage or changes we encountered. I pretty much expected this as other contractors had told me the same thing. After agreeing to move forward with NorCal, I was given Ryan K as our project manager. Ryan was very open and easy to talk to. He was timely in his communication with me, and someone on his team, Miles, had great follow up with letting me know when my materials were coming in as well reminding me of the open items I had to complete. Once the project started, workers Fermin, Gilbert, and David, came onsite to work on our tiny bathroom. Per our agreement, they not only changed out the shower fitter, but they took the walls down to the studs, opened up the space, relocated the pipes and installed the new custom shower. They also installed the new flooring and removed and installed the new vanity we picked, all within 3 days. The estimated project time Will and Ryan gave me was 4-5 days to be conservative, but I was happy it was done in 3. There were changes to our work order which impacted some cost, extras as well as credits, which I was glad that Ryan was able to work out for us. I appreciate that Ryan was able to explain things to me in terms I could understand and made sense logistically. He also made sure to provide me with all the documentation I asked for and assured me that I didn't have to pay until I was satisfied with the work, which I am. Thanks NorCal Remodeling. Home Depot connected me with NorCal for my shower remodel. Max and his crew at NorCal did a great job of converting an old, ugly tub enclosure to a beautiful walk-in shower. From demolition to completion I was impressed by the varied installation skills of Fermin, Gilberto, and Juan. They took great care to preserve a large wall mirror that directly abutted the tile they were removing. This little crew installed the walls, plumbing, fixtures, tile, lighting, towel bars, and painted the bathroom walls and ceiling. They were fast, efficient, respectful, and cleaned up afterwards. At every step Max was mindful of keeping the cost down. He dealt with a difficult HOA to get the job started. He arranged inspections to be done promptly. He was patient when I changed my mind about details. He avoided an expensive repositioning of the drain by using tile instead of a shower pan. Will, the designer, accompanied me to the tile store to pick out tile. The result is the most beautiful tile shower floor that coordinates perfectly with the shower walls. There was a 2-month delay as parts were ordered, shipped, and delivered. We have always been DIY people. My husband and I bought our house about six years ago and we finally decided to do something with our bathroom. But this time we really wanted it done right. We met with Jerry our design consultant and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was so professional and knowledgeable and we were sold after talking to him for only about 15 minutes. Jerry showed us many material samples, product videos, and payment options. The quality of the materials impressed us the most. Jerry made the first step feel painless and we felt confident with our decision to move forward. Next we met with Jeff our project manager. My Project discussion started with design consultant Kayla Akers and she spent a good amount of time explaining to us different options and seems she is also a salesperson. Gabor, Janni, and Kyle (project manager) completed the remodeling work. they did an amazing job, attention to every detail. While Kyle coordinated with me throughout the project, Gabor and Janni worked very hard and completed the majority of the job on time even during the rain with power loss at my home. I was really amazed seeing that they both worked with headlamps when there was no light and did everything perfectly. My mother, who was 92 years old, hired NorCal last year to replace her old shower and repair the drywall which abutted the shower in the bathroom. They came, put in the shower, and left her with the drywall looking like the attached picture. Because she felt this was unsatisfactory, she had me schedule them to come out and fix the problem. In the meantime, my mother was put into the hospital, so I took time off to be there when the workers showed up. The scheduling was a three hour time window, so I took time off from work to be there. They never showed. We rescheduled with them three more times, and they didn't show for any of these appointments, so I basically lost more than twelve hours of work time over this. By the time they called us to reschedule for the fifth time, my mother had was in hospice, and died that week. Believe when I tell you the extra stress their mismanagement of the job added to our family was significant. read more
