About removing every demand from your body at once. No resistance. No effort. Just stillness. An hour of that does more than most people expect. The space itself is consistent in the best way. Clean, quiet, nothing out of place. It doesn't try too hard to feel like a spa. It just does. Gemma was working the day I came in. She's the kind of person who makes a place feel like it belongs to her. Not in a territorial way, but in the way that good hosts do. Calm, attentive, unhurried. She walked me through my options without overselling anything, and that restraint says something. It meant I trusted what she said. Absolutely enjoyed my experience at TruFloat! I wanted to try floating for so long so I am so glad that I finally took the plunge; and I am glad that TruFloat was the first place I went to check this out. They made me feel right at home from the first moment I walked in. I was escorted to a relaxation room where I watched a short video and learned about what will occur during my float. I had a couple of additional questions that the staff answered and I was off to my private room. The room has an open shower, a place to put your belongings, and of course the pod that filled with just 10 inches of water and tons of Epson salt. The pod looks like a small and cool space ship with lights. Before floating you are asked to shower, put in ear plugs, and cover up any open cuts. Then you get to undress to your comfort and get in. I decided to use the head support, but that is optional. I found it difficult to completely disconnect. My mind wandered at times, but would come back to a quiet place and then start to wander again. I think it will take me a few floats to get my mind to a quieter place. However, I still enjoyed my time. Every moment I spent floating was another minute I was able to let go, even if it was just for a few moments. I would come back and recommend it for relaxation and awareness! Took my teenage daughter since she has been very stressed about school. We got there early as requested and were ready to go. They had us watch the video and wait. But when it was time to go float, they said that the person in front of us took too long and we had to reschedule. It's a decently long drive from our house and it took my daughter a lot to get together to go (struggles with anxiety). They were not very apologetic at all. We did go a second day and it was fine but not amazing enough to put up with the disorganization. I don't know why they didn't just have their schedule run late the first day, but I don't care either - I'm just never planning to give them money again. read more

I've been to True Rest twice now and it's one of the most reinvigorating experiences I've had. One of the best things is as you're floating in the salt water, you have to lose your sense of time. It's easy to become restless, it just takes a little getting used to. The one thing I don't like is we can't control the music. The staff is very courteous and professional, and they keep the facility very clean. Also, for beginners, the 8 minute orientation video explains everything pretty well. The experience of floating, facilities are wonderful. However the staff is less than stellar. We originally signed up for the monthly float, as we were told we could cancel at anytime. Due to time constraints, we requested to cancel our monthly membership. After calling, emailing and asking in person, it is 2 months later and they are still charging us our monthly membership fee. If you want to float, don't join the monthly membership club. Just pay for your float at the time. read more

Had my second float last night. The facility is clean and the staff are friendly. The water seemed a little cooler than the first time but still comfortable. Enjoyed the rainfall shower before and after the float. The O2 after the float added to the relaxation. Looking forward to the third float. Next time need to check out the music options. read more

When my friend told me about this spa and how close it was, I couldn't resist! It was great from finish the end. I was sent reminders and information on our initial visit and what to expect. When we arrived, staff was friendly, and very accommodating. The spa was very clean, comfortable and organized. The experience was great as I had my own room which included the pod, shower and towels. There was a separate room to freshen up abs blow dry my hair. The spa provided the hair dryer, towels, face cloths, Vaseline to cover scrapes, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Then off to the oxygen bar which can be infused with essential. It was relaxing and I didn't feel rushed. The floating experience was relaxing and quiet but music is available if you'd like. Highly recommended! read more

Years ago, I tried floating a couple times at different locations while traveling but wasn't really impressed. This time, I decided to try to go consistently and see if I liked it better. I definitely recommend booking a few sessions if you can before you decide if you like it or not (I tried weekly in the beginning) because as you get more comfortable you'll be able to get into a deeper meditation. Also try different times of day (if you can) to figure out what works best for you. The times I've been able to relax the most were not the times of day I expected! Get there at least 30 minutes early before your first appointment so you can relax and get the proper tour and instructions. If you're nervous about feeling claustrophobic, you can leave the light on (or the pod door - but you might get cold this way) and pick one of the music tracks. I've slowly transitioned to complete darkness and quiet - it's a great hour to take for yourself. The staff here has always been really friendly as well. There is an oxygen bar that members get to use after their float, or they seem to offer it complimentary for first-timers. They had a great BOGO sale at the end of the last year which has made appointment times harder to get these last couple months, but being popular has its price :) read more

Definitely worth a try! I was a little apprehensive, not sure why, but it was an interesting experience. Staff was super nice and explained everything, showed me around and answered all questions. The place was very clean (thank goodness) and peaceful. You go to your own private room with shower and glowing pod that you can open or close. You also have lighting options - different colors or none and music choices. It's a little strange when you first get in because the salt makes you buoyant and you immediately "float" - you can't sit. It's pretty cool though. The water is at body temp so it is comfortable. I personally don't like to be hot so I opened the pod and was fine. I'm pretty sure they said you can have temperature adjusted but it wasn't necessary. It was very relaxing and time went by faster than expected (1 hour). When done they have everything you need for a shower and after that you get to try out the oxygen bar. It is an excellent experience. Don't bother getting a membership. As a member I get to sit behind the groupons they continuously sell. You can't get in and if you can enjoy Tuesday (2 months out) at 2pm (hopefully you don't have a job). Get your Groupon. Go for cheap. DO NOT sign up for a membership you can't get a time ever. I have 8 floats I have to use in 6 months. Basically impossible. read more

I have not experienced this type of relaxation before. The best I can explain is of in a pool you know how to float on your back, but here you don't have to try, and the feeling of complete relaxation lasts a lot longer. I have also done massages and though a slightly different feeling, I feel roughly the same if not better. It was so nice to have my joints get a rest too. Highly recommend. read more
