I've been a Club Pilates member for awhile now. From my first class, I knew that I finally found an…read moreexercise modality that I love and actually enjoy doing! I have Fibromyalgia, and decades of experience as an RN, and those left me with a great deal of pain, and injuries. Since I've been doing reformer Pilates, I can tell a tremendous difference in pain & inflammation reduction, improved flexibility, balance, and coordination. All of the instructors are incredible, and each brings their own unique style to the CP method of teaching. Every class is different and keeps the body guessing. Definitely listen to your body and the instructor, and don't forget to focus on mind-body connection, and slowing down the breath. I can do things most my age or older cannot do, and I will keep my body moving. Do Pilates, Do life!

THIS IS A SCAMMMMM When I signed up, I was given only a very vague verbal explanation of the membership terms and cancellation policy. I was never clearly shown the full contract before my card was charged, and I do not remember signing or being walked through any paperwork that explained the commitment they later claimed I agreed to. Shortly after joining, my dad passed away. During that difficult time, I called to cancel my membership. I explained my situation and was told my card would be removed from my account and that everything would be taken care of. Based on what I was told, I believed my membership had been canceled. Instead, they continued charging my card. They have now taken $219 from me. Because I believed my membership had already been canceled, I missed two months of payments, and now they are demanding another $70 just to freeze my account. When I questioned everything, they claimed I had signed an agreement. However, I was never clearly shown the terms or given a proper explanation of the cancellation policy before being charged. I tried to resolve this privately by phone, but they refused to work with me or offer a fair solution. In my opinion, this has been one of the most misleading experiences I've had with a business. Please don't rely only on verbal explanations. Read every document carefully before providing your payment information, and make sure you fully understand the membership and cancellation policies. MAKE SURE YOU SEE THE DOCUMENTS TOO BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT PRINTED OUT THERE ARE ON THE SCREEN INSTRUCTORS USE I am requesting that my membership be canceled, the $70 freeze fee be removed, and that the $219 taken from my account be refunded.

I verified that this price was not with a contract. She said "It's basically month-to-month". So, I decided to go in for a tour. Upon arriving, I spoke with another woman and stressed my concerns about signing a contract and told her the only reason I was there was because of that brochure and it not being a contract. She acted like she "completely" understood. After the tour, I was pretty excited about joining. Then, we talk pricing. That brochure was indeed "basically" month-to-month like the manager said. There was a catch! You pay UP FRONT for 36 MONTHS!!! That's 3 years people!!! That's $718.20!! I told the woman I was talking to that I felt the brochure was False Advertisement. She didn't seem to understand how... She said they don't consider it a contract since you pay up front. The other price options were $49.95 or $59.95 a month - One year contract. I'm sorry - but for a price like that AND a contract, I'll go over to another gym and enjoy many more amenities - including a pool! Don't be fooled by the advertisements that Fitness for Women puts out! They are not accurate and all they try to do is get you in there so they can suck you in!

AC Fitness is a really desirable gym to join because of its affiliation with Gold's Gym. I have a…read moreMetropass, so I can use either gym, but only pay one (pretty reasonable) membership fee. This is especially useful to me, because I like group exercise classes, and the schedule at both places is somewhat limited. They have Body Pump (which is a little too intense for me), spinning, yoga/pilates, and other aerobic classes. I wish they had kickboxing class, but I've been pretty happy there so far. The exercise equipment is all pretty well maintained, and I like being able to watch TV when I'm brainlessly plugging away on the elliptical machine. EDIT: They've added a ton of Turbo Kick classes plus more Body Jam classes, and I am loving life at this gym again.
