If i could leave negative stars i would. we hired trugreen in March of 2024 to help our lawn get thicker and get some grass growing in the lower part of our back yard. Instead of helping our yard improved they completely DESTROYED our ENTIRE yard. We went into the hospital to have our son May 2nd of 2024 and when we came back home May7th 2024 our yard was yellow. All the grass had been sprayed with God knows what weed killer and it killed every single blade of grass in the yard. They continued to come out randomly (no set appt times monthly - nothing consistent) and continue spraying the very clearly dead yard. They charged us to aerate they yard (without consent) and only did part of the yard and tried to charge us the full amount even though we watched them on the cameras do not even half of the yard. Then after aerating they told us they could not seed the yard until the fall and to call back then. So October 2024 we called and called and called and no one ever came out to seed or aerate the yard again. We have called 20+ times trying to get someone out to see the devastation that is now our yard. We call almost daily and get passed around and told no one in management is available. Come February 2025 we finally get a manager on the phone and told him we need someone to come out and see what they have done to the yard and it needs to be fixed. After 3 weeks he comes and barely even looks at the yard- "takes a soil sample" and was going to let us know how to proceed once that came back. It is now the end of March 2025 and once again they are avoiding our calls and refusing to help repair the yard they DESTROYED. The branch Manager refusing to return our Calls is Jason Jahner from the Cumming, GA branch. We will now be proceeding with legal action. Attached are the before (green grass yard) and the after pictures (dirt and rock). Our yard was absolutely destroyed by TruGreen and is now just Pure dirt, rock, and desolate desert. They dilute their chemicals so they are not effective. It's always someone new that comes, and they don't give a s***. They just want to be done and get out. The 1st 3 photos are my backyard lawn in September 2018. The rest are what it looks like now (May 2021). The lawn has been under continuous care from TruGreen. There is very little traffic on the lawn and it gets water when needed. Last summer I had an infestation of nutsedge. I finally got someone to come treat it. They killed everything but the nutsedge. TruGreen has not offered to restore my lawn. So now I'm left with a dust bowl when it's dry and mud pit when it's wet. There are many cheaper ways to kill a lawn. I'm glad I use TruGreen. I'm new to Georgia area, and they helped me figure out the right plan for my needs. They are very friendly, and applied multiple discounts to my plan. My first treatment was several days after I signed up. The service is super fast - Their sprayers cover 1,000 square feet of treatment per minute. This company is corrupt. Service rendered was not what was discussed at the time of purchase from a salesman at the house. Treatment was paid through December 2019. Towards the end I started receiving calls about continuing service and told them I was not satisfied and did not want their service as it did absolutely nothing. Weeds were still there and the tree we discussed was never treated. They spent the first couple months in 2020 trying to get me to purchase again, I refused the offers. True green then claimed they came back to my house in January and was not paid for treatment. They were not authorized to spray their water on my lawn past December. Since then I have been receiving harnessing phone calls from a collection company that borders extortion. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY... it will not be different for you. Truegreen cannot be trusted as a whole. Update: after a BBB complaint they admitted to their extortion and zeroed the account. I no longer receive harassing collection calls. I'd give the review zero stars if I could. I've had the service a little over 18 months and we have had zero change to our front yard. We were reassured that it can take up to 18 months for all the weeds to be gone and our dead patches to be fixed. Our lawn looks the same as if it did 18 months ago, after multiple complaints about workers showing up and only spraying half our lawn they would come back and redo it. I wrote numerous emails wanting to cancel and never got one response and yet they still came to service my lawn. Not once did I get a call back after opting for one. After using TruGreen for many years I'm quitting. My lawn looks the worst it ever has, and the expensive zoysia we put in is dying in huge patches. You can't reach anyone locally, you have to go through their nationwide answering system and the wait times can be up to an hour. Then no one contacts you back. When they finally, after many calls, send someone out, he looks at the lawn and says "Well, it might be fungus". Might be? Could you not have figured that out, and treated it, months and months and months ago while you were supposed to be treating my lawn? Are you going to replace the patches of grass that should have treated and are now dead? No answer other than "I'll get back to you. And of course I never heard another thing. Horrible customer service and worse follow up. They might have been a good company at one time but not worth it now, especially when I'm going to go into pocket to fix their mistake without even an apology. read more

Unfortunately I have to agree with Adam S as I have had a similarly frustrating experience with TruGreen. I started service in fall 2018 and more charges /services were added without my consent at higher rates than originally agreed upon. Then as 2019 rolled around I accepted some of the services, yet all the different teams came to my property anyway (not just mosquito but tree and shrub plus aeration etc.) without my agreement and I was subsequently charged. In November 2019 I informed verbally that I no longer wanted any services from TruGreen of any sort. This was "verbal" because TruGreen has part of their contract as an automatic opt-in for renewal of services without signing any document. So basically they will keep coming even if you say no over the phone or to a lawn care technician or manager but they can say whatever they want and not be held accountable which is not how a verbal (aka oral) contract works. So you will need to email them (and I recommend recording your phone calls as well) saying you no longer wish to receive any types of services. After receiving calls from TruGreen 1-3 times per DAY in spring 2020 to which I multiple times said I no longer wanted services and I would not pay, they continued to come to the house and charge me. Then on April 17, 2020 (after one of my emails on April 14), I received an email confirmation from TruGreen that my account had been closed and I had no outstanding debt. Naturally on April 21 I received another service, then I had another call on May 6 and another May 16 both and yet got another servicing May 21 which I was charged for. So on June 2 I paid for services I never agreed to because they were performed after I was assured for a 3rd time officially (and probably 10th verbally) that my account was in fact closed and I had no money owed. After this my account no longer showed as inactive, but also reflected a $0 balance. But wait, there is more! Two days ago I then received a call from a debt collection agency that I owe an even higher sum than what I paid and my account is delinquent. This was the last straw because now this is no longer just between me and an organization that places no value on customer service, but now I have credit agencies lowering my score despite me going above and beyond for a vendor that didn't even help make my lawn look any better. I saw no tangible improvement in my lawn, but I understand some are tougher than others. So with several emails in the past 48 hours and 2 phone calls, I was informed ONLY my local service manager can remove the collection from my account as the collection agency will not contact TruGreen and TruGreen also refuses to contact the debt collection agency. Again, this is not even for the services I didn't request because I already paid for the services I didn't even request on June 2. There is no explanation for what this is for and I continue in my quest to clear my name with no intention to be polite again. A business operating with this type of model better be incredibly good at the service itself (which I don't see), but even then I don't see how they will last much longer. I signed up with trugreen a few months ago for lawn and mosquito service. They started out fine. Within the past 2 weeks things have not been good hence the 1 star rating. First, I had the mosquito tech that said they completed service but never even showed up (I have cameras). Secondly, today I got the notification that trugreen completed my lawn service (they didn't). They actually treated my neighbors lawn a couple doors down not mine. I finally had a manager come out in early July and showed him before pics of the yard. He said he was going to fix all the issues for me. Yesterday, 7/26 I finally got advance notice of their visit today and started to believe they are actually going to make good on their promise. I made arrangements to be at the property today. I got a text someone named Les was arriving. I looked out the window and he sat in his truck for 6 minutes until he saw me. He got out, stuck the sign in the yard, got out a wheel barrow, put on gloves and waved at me. I decided to step away but when I looked back 5 minutes later he was gone. I checked the video footage and he didn't do a thing. I called TruGreen to officially cancel and when the CSR inquired why I told her. She said the visit today was for monthly service. The notes in the system left by the guy manager out came out earlier this month said he couldn't do anything about the moss. I said that's a lie and I'm really glad I recorded our conversation. She said she would contact the branch about the lack of service today and a manager would be out. I said no, I am canceling. She said they want to make it right but we mysteriously got disconnected. These CSR's work from home and the only inter-company communication these people have is through a CRM. I can't wait until the day I hear these people are out of business. If you see TruGreen advertisements trying to get you to sign up, run the other way and don't look back. Their workers are lazy and the company tries to defend them. I had TrueGreen for a few years but I noticed the weeds in my backyard continued to flourish. I would always call customer service when I noticed this and they would send someone out to retreat the yard. Still, the weeds grew in my back yard. One day I happened to be home while TruGreen showed up for a treatment. I decided to watch what he did in the backyard and I saw him walk through the gate, stand at the top of my nearly half an acre yard do ONE swipe of his sprayer and leave. He literally spent less than 15 seconds back there and that includes the time he spent entering and leaving the yard. I was furious at this point and immediately called customer service informing them of what I just saw. They tried to defend him by saying the treatment spray is "very strong" and not much time is needed to treat the lawn. This was complete bull, and the constant weed problem in my back yard confirmed this. I canceled TruGreen shortly after and threw all their mail correspondence asking me to come back in the garbage. I started using TruGreen in October 2021. After seven lawn services and over $300, I have Poa Annua all over my yard. My neighbor began using a competitor (starts with Arb) and has no weeds at all. TruGreen does not provide refunds and only offers to retreat the lawn. In spite of complaining several times a month and meeting personally with a local manager, I have only had two retreatments in over three months with no improvement. I used their service and it was a waste of money. In the past 6 months they came on the wrong day three times, but then would send me a text that my service was complete, which was not true. They had to come back twice to aerate my lawn because the first time looked like someone was rushing to get out of there.Also, the final straw is when I was lied too by a customer service rep informing me that grass seed had been placed down, I came home and no seed was placed. They literally came for 1 minute (proof on the receipt) and said they took care of everything - complete liars and very unprofessional in following up with us. DO NOT hire this company!! It's a racket!! I had new sod put in earlier this summer which was beautiful. By early Fall I noticed some fungus spots. I called this company and signed up for the annual lawn plan with the intent of treating the problem. I was rescheduled several times, once without even a notification. When someone finally came is was a basic tech who was here to fertilize. I told him I was to expect a senior manager to diagnose the problem. He had no idea what to do so he told me to call the office and left. I called and was told an expert was to come by and analyze. A week or so later another routine tech came by and fertilized! Well guess what - the problem got worse... Finally last week a pro came by and said, wait for it - you have a fungus. He put lime down which he said would "jump start" the fungicide which was to be applied this week. Well today is Thursday and no show. I called the office and was routed to the national call center who was to alert the local branch. I'm getting the run around. Go with someone else. read more

They said they came on my first service with them for a mosquito problem but I couldn't figure out how because our little dog would've gone bananas if he saw someone out in our back yard (and he doesn't miss a bird whizzing by). But I called and they assured me someone came. Fine. Two days later, I'm getting mauled by mosquitos. So I tried to get customer service on the phone. Holy nightmare. Finally I got someone and she said they'd have someone out in 10 days. No one. So I called again. Set the service up for Thursday. So Thursday I put a note on the back gate with giant letter saying TRUGREEN PLEASE CALL WHEN YOU GET HERE. And I put the note over the latch so you couldn't miss it. But I didn't stop there. I put our little pooch in the kitchen that faces the backyard. And I sat and waited. A Trugreen technician called and said he was here and was about to service the yard and I told him I was here but didn't see him. The phone hung up. And I called him back several times - straight to VM. I'm so ticked they wasted hours and hours of me waiting and calling, etc. Please heed my advice and use someone else. Anyone else. read more

I had TruGreen around 2019 for the full year of treatment. My lawn looked terrible all year. Weeds were everywhere and I had to spray treatment myself just to get it looking bearable. I canceled and went with ArborNomics and they were able to get everything back to looking nice by the end of 2020. At the beginning of this year (2021) I received a call from a "Nick" trying to get me to change back to Trugreen. I notified him that Trugreen destroyed my lawn and I have no faith in this company. He claimed that he would be personally involved and ensure my service is up to par and gave me his "personal number". He gave me such a good price that I was dumb enough to give this company another chance. The 2nd lawn treatment and 1st tree and shrub technicians did not have access to my back yard and made zero attempt to contact me to gain access. I was at home during the service times. Obviously they did not treat my backyard. I tried to call "Nick" but it went straight to a voicemail that was not set up, so no way to get in contact. I contacted service and Lori seemed nice and notated in my account my concerns. She put in a service request. A technician for lawn service came out and at least this time made an attempt to contact me. I thought things were better, except I was supposed to receive a tree and shrub treatment in my backyard since the first tech never did it. I received an email indicating service was done this morning but as I was home all morning, I did not see anybody go to my back yard nor did I let anybody in. There are no service details for this supposed treatment and I have been trying to call service (since there is no "Nick" to take personal responsibility like he claimed he would), but the wait is 1-2 hours. Tried chat, but there are 90 people in front of me. Calling the local branch just forwards you to the same automated system for service. If you want good lawn care, do not make the mistake that I made. I called TruGreen. TruGreen did not tell me upfront that since my lawn is not perfect and my sprinkler system is not perfect, that my results one year later would be CRAP. They put down chemicals on my lawn that killed every blade of grass. They try reseeding after Thanksgiving - some of the grass started coming up in March. By then, with the unusually raining fall and winter - my dirt was now down in my neighbors yard. All of the weeds and more came back in April. Even though it was a slight increase in cost, I switched to TruGreen based on promises of outstanding lawn care and the commitment that if they ever fell short of my expectations they would do what was needed to make me happy. I have zoysia in the front yard and fescue in the back yard. The front looks respectable, but the back yard, which is admittedly a tougher challenge, is a disaster. At first I wasn't concerned because of the company's representations for quality customer service (insert a laughing emoji here). However, when weed issues developed, the extent of the customer service was to send someone out to respray and that was it. I called and emailed numerous times and pleaded that someone in a position of authority come meet with me to assess the situation first hand. Nobody would take the time, so I ultimately sent a video to show why I was frustrated. Again, here comes a service tech to spray, and again an epic failure since the chemicals killed what little remaining grass there was, but not the weeds. There are lots of competent lawn care companies out there, so save yourself problems and don't settle on TruGreen. read more

I wish that I could leave zero stars. I prepaid Trugreen in Norcross for a year's worth of treatments (7). I requested and was told that the technician would announce himself and meet with me to discuss concerns and expectations. He never showed up. He did send me several emails throughout the day to tell me that he was on his way. One email told me he was only ten minutes away. Trugreen's Live Map feature even pinged the technician's GPS then as two blocks away, within my cul de sac community. Still, he never showed up. None of the four adults living here saw him though we were waiting outside for him. He does not appear on any of my home security footage. Yet, a half hour after last telling me he was on his way he sent me an email claiming to have already (just) completed lime treatment on my yard. After I called to tell them no technician had been by received a detailed invoice claiming he had applied 58 gallons of lime and offered several extremely generic recommendations based on my "specific" yard conditions. I made several more phone calls then but NEVER got to talk to anyone that could actually "do" anything, only pass on online comments to have someone who could call me back. Instead of calling me back, they then doubled-down and sent me a second fake invoice claiming that they had also applied broad leaf weed control the day they never showed up. Corporate now has given me two different names for the Norcross branch manager and two different names for the Norcross service manager, none of which have called. They want to refund me only part of what I have prepaid them - still insisting that their "records" show that I received their (non-existent) first visit. I called there but it took me forever to get the manager Shaun Lowther on the phone. Long story short... the manager told me that I should go ahead and have the lawn restored and Trugreen will reimburse me. Okay, I did that but Trugreen did NOT reimburse me. At the end, I paid for the Trugreen service and had to pay for the damage they did to my lawn. I still call there but the manager does not answer phone calls, nor does he respond to emails. My rating can be changed depending on the response I get back from the company. I have prepaid for the year 3 major services with TruGreen. Service started out ok, but for the last couple of visits the service has gone downhill. 3 issues I currently have with this company....#1 - I had a recent service visit scheduled where a technician claimed to have serviced my home, but never showed up. I am in a gated community, so I have no record of a person using my code on the day of service, they did not leave the signage they put in the yard and I have no record of the tech's working on my property from my 24/7 video surveillance of my property. #2 - I have had a couple of missed appointments in the past because techs are not being provided the correct information on their workorder (my contractor gate code - that does not require them to call me and possibly not get through). I need them to do what they need to to make sure their techs have the right information. #3 - I am sitting here today with a scheduled service...the tech uses the wrong gate code that calls my phone instead of letting them in automatically (but I answer and let the tech in), the tech pulls up in front of my home...sits in the truck for 5 minutes and pulls off without even getting out. I immediately call TruGreen and they give me the same information I can get myself on the App, they provide the tech's phone number, but they do not answer, so I am not sure if this will again be reported to TruGreen as a job completed or if they are coming back later. Who knows? Which is exactly my point. I am writing this review for consumers to really beware and ask operational questions about their service....past the nice sounding rep that is going to sign you up and take your money. I provided a negative feedback rating to TruGreen on their website and if I do not hear back from them today, I will cancel their service and go with a local competitor. We have used TruGreen for nearly 2 decades, but in the last 2 years, the quality of the service they provide has taken a steep dive. Last year our entire front lawn was brown and it took months to correct the problem. It finally resolved and this year our front lawn was improved. At that same time last year we had a bit of nutsedge in our backyard. We were assured that the weed treatment would take care of it and it did seem to go away as the summer progressed. This Spring, the nutsedge is back with a vengeance and is now covering nearly 40% of our beautiful backyard sod. After multiple phone calls with no call backs from the Norcross office, I called and spoke to someone in another state at "the regional call center" over the phone and was instructed to mow the lawn 1 to 2 days before the application of weed killer to best kill the weeds, and therefore scheduled the service for July 5. I had our landscape service mow our lawn on July 3, so it would be primed for application. On July 6 I called to inquire why the treatment did not occur and all the woman (in North Carolina) could tell me was that someone in the local office canceled it out the morning of July 5. They showed up again this morning to finally I thought apply the weed treatment, at the same time my landscape service arrived to mow the backyard since it was a week since it had been mowed and TruGreen inexplicably had no showed on July 5...The service technician was unwilling to work me back into the schedule and required me to call the regional office again (NOT located in Georgia) and I was assured that someone would come back out tonight before 7 pm to apply the treatment. Nope, no one has shown up and when I called the automated service, my next treatment is now scheduled for July 16. Any bets on how long the nutsedge will be and how much of my lawn will be covered in weeds by NEXT week? All I can say, is please think very long and hard about using a lawn care service whose customer service call center is in North Carolina. The woman on the phone on July 6 was very proud to tell me that they have 2.5 million customers nationwide, but what I have learned is that bigger is usually not better...and the complete and total apathy of the service technician and the local office here in Georgia is living proof that that is a true statement. read more

I've had Trugreen for 2 years, the first was exactly what you would expect of a lawn care company, the second year,...well maybe not. Trugreen has burnt my yard twice this year, failed to return any of my 7 calls and clears the work orders for response (this is your call for a response/ complaint), so how could a person recommend them?
