He assessed the job thoroughly, removing several panels to get a real understanding of my antique electrical system (none of the other contractors I called took this step). His estimate was the best, and far below the highest estimate that I had received -- it pays to shop around. While assessing my system, Brian noticed a problem with one of my lighting fixtures and fixed it on the spot, apparently because he loves electrical work -- he wouldn't take any money. Brian coordinated with other PPE professionals to obtain the necessary permits, and his team of three worked all day to install a new panel and bring order out of chaos. Other contractors cited "problems" with my old system that would cause extra work/expense, but Brian dismissed these, demonstrating rare integrity and honesty. The inspector passed the work in minutes, adding appreciatively, "You've got a real good job there." PPE stays busy, so book them early!

Jason and his crew coordinated well with the City of Oak Ridge. They worked expeditiously to complete the installation in one day so that my 96 year old father would have power back by the end of the day. They returned the next day to label the panel box and to move the ground wire to a permanent spot. I was super impressed that they fully concealed the ground wire in the carport. All their work is extremely neat and professional. They travel with an 8 ft. ladder and made my dad so happy when they replaced a light bulb in the cathedral ceiling that had burned out. Such kindness. Everyone I've dealt with at Diversified has been a pleasure to work with. I'll have them back to check out a problematic hall light fixture soon.

He jerked on the lines going into the breaker box (for God-knows what reason) and nearly disconnected those wires. The electrician I hired instead said that had he jerked it once more he likely would have gotten himself killed! He also was sarcastically unprofessional when he called: "I have good news! Oh just kidding, sorry. It's actually bad news". (He was on speaker and my husband and I were not happy). The last straw was I called the following Monday to get my estimate and the owner was so rude and basically said they would get to it when they could. Apparently that was never because it's 3 weeks later and we never heard back from them. Don't do it.

This is a 1950s house with one of those low voltage switching systems that is failing…read more Other electricians would insist that the house had to be completely rewired in 8 rooms, which would be tens of thousands of dollars. I found Ace and asked them to help us avoid the rewiring, and bypass the switching system. They installed new wireless switches and in-line receivers to control all the overhead lights in 8 rooms. It worked perfectly and at a very small fraction of what rewiring would have cost. Chad and his crew were very prompt and professional, knowledgeable and service-oriented. Everyone that I dealt with in the office, from scheduling to billing, was great as well. On top of all that, I was way out of town and had to coordinate all the appointments and even some of the work remotely. Highest recommendation.

We made 1 change to the scope of the work. Victor told us via email that he would price the exhaust fan/light combo and get back with us. By 6/23 I had not heard back so I sent an email to Victor asking for a status but did not receive a response. I also called Lloyd's the next day to ask for a status and was told that they are really busy and a message will be left for Victor. Unfortunately, no response was received. On Friday 8/15 I called Lloyd's and spoke with Steve in Sales. I explained that we have simplified the project and have purchased the lighting we would like to have installed. I told Steve that we want to use Lloyd's because of the good work they have done previously. Steve told me that he would talk to Victor on Tuesday 8/19 and would get back to me. After not hearing back from Steve by Wednesday 8/20, I called and left a message for Steve. I explained that we received a quote from another company but it was too high and I'm interested in working with Lloyd's. I did not hear back from Steve and am very disappointed at being ghosted by Lloyd's Electric. I will work with a new Vendor for the work to be done. I do NOT recommend Lloyd's Electric.

I hired Engert to install a water pressure pump, a simple job that one man could easily accomplish…read more I called Engert to get a ballpark figure on installation, and was told rates were $65 an hour, and "it shouldn't take more than an hour." Engert sent out two men to assess the job, and the two returned later to install it, taking 1 hour. They never gave me an estimate, so I was shocked to receive a bill for $270 in labor costs. I was charged for both visits including drive time, never got an accurate estimate, and had to pay two technicians. I call that bill padding. I contacted Engert on their web site to complain of price gouging. They never responded.

Be very careful in dealing with this company. They came out to look at the HVAC for some elderly…read morefriends (90 y/o) and ended up charging $2600 more than another local company that I called for exactly the same unit (about $9000 to replace a very small HVAC heat pump, vs $6400 at the other company). They also completely refused to itemize the invoice for the elderly couple. Shop around. I know Melton's had a good name in Clinton, but they were bought out by somebody else and not owned by the original owner anymore. Their blatant overcharge and lack of transparency is very concerning, especially in dealing with an elderly couple. My suspicion is that they refuse to itemize invoices to hide their upcharges, including the maintenance agreement that is included in the "one price". And, just as shady, they never gave them a written estimate of work. I saw another review on here about them doing that and the company replied that they'd fix that, but apparently never did. When I called and politely asked the owner to explain the excessive cost, he became belligerent and threatened me with a lawyer and was too embarrassed to tell me how much the new unit cost. But they weren't too embarrassed to tell my elderly friends that their new Goodman/Amana unit is just as good as the Trane that they were replacing. And watch out for their $150 Comfort yearly inspections, which somehow managed to miss the problems in their old unit last year while it was still under warranty. Bottom line: my friends trusted this company and got ripped off so bad the owner refused to explain the charges. Additionally, despite what Melton's website says, Trane told me that Melton's is not an authorized Trane dealer. Do your homework on this company before using them. I had a conversation with another HVAC company about an identical install. Their installed price? $5700
