I do not understand why everyone considers this place to be amazing. When we moved here, everyone recommended this place! But, the tacos aren't great (bland, and even though they have different flavors, they tasted similar?), the cocktails are unbalanced and overpriced, and the service we had was terrible! I hate having to flag down waitstaff, especially when the place isn't busy. Food was good but didn't like the a la carte menu. Each taco was at least $4.50 each which doesn't include anything else. You need at least 3 to even start filling you up, they are small. Tacos were delicious, unique tastes and recipes, just disappointed with the size portions. There should be a 3 or 4 taco special combo type of deal. The menu was pretty small. Appetizers were skimpy. We got the pearled onions, which were small and plain. Drinks are overpriced at more than $9 per mixed drink. Thought they would have more variety of drinks, as they specialize in whiskey and tequila. They have the potential to come up with some fun drink options. Drinks strong but very small. Service was adequate. Would go back eventually, as tacos were good, but the overall value is poor. You'll easily spend $40 and not be full. read more

This is one of our go to places in Rock County area. Great flavor combinations. Great drink choices. Their margaritas are incredible.

So the first time I came here I only drank. Selection at the bar was great for whiskey and tequila which is what they advertise. My wife had a couple tacos she was still a little hungry after for a roll from zen. We read the reviews about small portions but I couldn't judge without being a contestant. A week or so later I have some tacos and no drinks. Yes the price point seems steep for one street taco, but I would have to say if you went out to eat and spent $12-16 a plate then it's spot on. I'd like to see $1 less a taco but when I put it in that prospective I agree. Flavor and portion was good for street tacos. Seems like a good spot to prime the pump for a night out and not a dinner. I have to agree with the other review. Tacos had wonderful flavor but were very small and one little shell fell apart. I ordered the shrimp curry and Korean barbecue, and a Margarita. My husband tried the chicken and beef, I don't remember exactly what they were called and they were good. It's definitely great atmosphere. I love truck't amazing view when windows are open you get some nice fresh air a amazing restaurant for when you go down town.

I met a friend for lunch and we both opted for salads. I was very disappointed in mine. The bowl was full of chopped romaine, but if there was a quarter cup total of other ingredients, I'd be surprised. Two of the ingredients listed on the menu were MIA. I understand supply chain issues--then double up on available ingredients and explain the omission to the customer. I left hungry. Went home and made myself lunch. Not sure that I will go back, but if I do, I won't order a $12 bowl of lettuce! read more

If you are looking for actual authentic Mexican food try taco truck in front of auto zone on 4th street or go inside any Mexican grocery there is almost always a restaurant attached with real food! This was my first time here visiting from out of town. I eat a lot of tacos but these are the best I think I have ever had! The homemade corn tortilla melts in your mouth and the combinations of flavors to choose from are amazing! The charred Brussels sprout taco with the garlic aioli is surprisingly delicious with that charred crunch. The Korean bbq beef was so tender and the slaw has perfect acidity. These tacos delicious, and the procedures were safe - as safe as they could be. All wait staff had masks on at all times, the tables were very spaced out which was great, and the dining area itself was spacious enough to make you feel safe. Food and service was great! My fiance and I had lunch and drinks here a couple days ago and it was a lovely experience all the way around. The atmosphere is like walking into an old west style bar and completely comfy and fun. The wait staff was super and the food just as nice. I had an appetizer and 2 tacos each and then I went whole hog and got ice cream tacos! OMG! Delicious!! I was so full and so very happy. I had the duck tacos and they were the best tacos I have ever had in my life. Also the server was so nice and really fast. He was so fast, my mother and I were in and out of this delightful establishment in less than 30 minutes. It took 20 minutes to get our water and sodas. No alcoholic drinks at all in our party. The guac was merely 3 full slices of avocado un-mashed and $8. However, they were very generous with the unsalted chips. The table was sticky upon walking in and we had to ask for silverware, napkins, and water refills. Our server, Aisha or something of that nature, who's name we only know from the receipt, didn't check in on us once and spent her time openly gossiping 5ft from us. Surprising as she made no small talk and actively shut down any attempts to do so. The portions were minuscule and my food came out cold. We watched people openly stir their drinks with their fingers- probably because the waitstaff couldn't be bothered with getting them a straw. There were only a few customers when my group of 3 came in. The service was suuuper slow for being so empty. We ordered the double berry margaritas and 2 came out super light pink and the other a dark pink. And they tasted different but were supposedly the "same drink." The tacos were pretty mediocre. And expensive for what it actually offered. We got the fish taco, pork belly, carne asada, queso fundido and guac... pretty much everything lacked flavor. And what kind of taco place doesn't have salsa for the tacos?! The only thing that was actually good were the soft corn tortillas. There's way better options for both authentic and fusion tacos than this place.. won't be coming back here! read more

Loved it! Visiting Beloit for the weekend and staying nearby in a hotel downtown. We walked over to Truk't for dinner. Great vibe, great ambiance, and the acoustics were fine even on a bustling Friday night. Loved the queso fundido with chorizo and poblano peppers (pictured) and elote (also pictured) paired with a couple of IPAs. We also tried three kinds of street tacos: Shrimp curry, chicken tinga, and Korean bbq (beef). All were equally excellent. For me it's once and done. Ordered a margarita and it did not taste like any margarita I've ever had. It tasted like it had pepper in it. Not good and expensive for the size. The food was just so-so. Tiny little taco shells filled with room temperature meat, veggies, etc. They were playing some kind of rock music when we first arrived. Not what I expected at all. It was horrible. The Chicken taco: These are way better than the Korean Beef BUT only because they aren't as greasy. They serve you some precooked chicken on an untoasted shell with no other toppings or sauce or anything. IF these tacos were say $1 a piece I could give some leniency BUT for $4-5 a piece this place gets 0 out of 10 stars. I'll never be back. read more

Updated review: I reviewed this place 2 years ago and I loved this place! The place is no longer a place that I love. I give the margaritas a 5 star! I got the Korean BBQ and fish tacos. The tacos are good, but they are overpriced. The service is horrible. I have been in there a few times and every time the service is bad. Once when I was there it took over 20 minutes just for a server to take drink orders. During that time we had 2 other employees ask if we ordered and stated that they would get our server. The last time I was there the silverware was dirty. The food came before our drinks. I was trying to get someone's attention to get new silverware, but it was not happening. The one waiter was too busy and the hostess stood at the door looking bored. Highly doubt that I will be back. I get that restaurants have bad nights and I will always give a place another try, but the service did not get better the next time. If you are looking for just a place to get a drink- I do recommend their drinks. read more

First visit. Thursday night and busy. We appreciated being able to check in and get a text when a table was ready. The cocktails were not only excellent, but the cilantro cucumber margarita was 10/10 (9 for me was in Los Angeles, so pretty stiff competition). The decor was great, and the service was excellent (attentive and knowledgeable about the food and drinks). The food was excellent. Inventive, great pairings of colors and food combinations. Decent pricing. Dinner for two, drinks and appetizers came to $56. We strolled around on this warm autumn evening, and observed that all the restaurants downtown were busy. Wonderful to see that downtown Beloit has become a destination, and this restaurant should help anchor that area. read more

Tried Truk't out for a second time tonight. Wasn't really a fan of the tacos on my first visit. This time wasn't much better. Pros are the atmosphere and the server, Arielle, or something like that... she was awesome. Cons are all the food. Tacos were luke warm. Short rib was ok, Al Pastor just meh. We got the holy trinity of salsas/dips or whatever they called it, with chips. Didn't eat much because the chips were awful. I mean, you would have to be pretty stoned to be willing to eat those. They tasted somewhere between baked chips and stale chips. So nasty. Easily the worst tortilla chips I've ever had in my life. In addition to my two tacos I ordered a side of elotes. I love elotes, however, my brother-in-law is a chef, and his are out of this world. The elotes here left a lot to be desired. It came in quite a large bowl but I didn't eat much because it tasted like canned corn covered in spicy cheese whiz and shaker Parmesan cheese. I'm pretty sure my stomach started to quiver with each bite. This may not be an accurate ingredient list, it is just how it tasted. My husband couldn't stomach it either. This all wouldn't have bothered me that much if the bill didn't come to $75 and left me hungry. I can't say I would be back anytime soon, if at all. read more

First off, the food is excellent, very very good. The flavors that they use and play with are familiar and nothing new, but they do them extremely well. They care about the food they make and it shows. The second, the list of whisk(e)ys and tequilas is awesome, they probably the best selection with in 30 miles of each, but with that, they are expensive, the cocktails are also pricey for what you get, especially in Beloit. Third, the service and atmosphere are also very nice, and the service was very good. My overall impression is that this is a refreshing place to get good food in southern Wisconsin, but you are definitely paying for the experience. read more

Only stopped in for drinks today. I had the truk't Buck and was hooked. Add beautiful weather and an awesome outdoor experience. Food menu items sounded good and I saw a few plates come out that would get me to come back for a meal sometime.
