Great spot for breakfast with a local crew. At the corner of the plaza facing the parking lot, TCG, which still says "Marie's" is a homey, diner-like restaurant with a fabulous breakfast menu. It was tough to choose! The breakfast tacos, while relatively simple, had perfectly-cooked bacon and really nice, not too greasy potatoes. My husband's piggy cheesy omelette also was nicely crafted. TCNG specializes in Mexican inspired breakfast and lunch which has provided us with some spicy breakfast food my boyfriend even said this might be one of his favorite omelettes ever. First time here on a Sunday afternoon and the place was jam packed. Waited for a spot to be seated and no staff greeted nor acknowledged me after standing there for 10 mins. Cute space, but pretty small and small outside dining area was filled with people waiting. Finally, spaces at the counter were cleared and I asked if I could sit there-sure. No one brought a menu. Finally got a menu and placed order for an Eggs Benedict and berries dish with a fresh iced tea. Diverse and interesting menu- with traditional fare avaiable. A bit pricey, $14.99 for my dish. The presentation of the dish was very nice. Perfectly poached egg and nice tasting in house made Hollandaise. While I was given water in a glass mason jar-which is great as I prefer not plastic, my iced tea was put in a Mason jar as well by one staff and the waitress grabbed it and poured it into a smaller plastic disposable cup and gave it to me. Strange. The bill given to me said $19.00-so not sure how much the tea or tax was--which did not sit well with me. Although the food was pretty good, considering the close quaters, not itemized bill, and pretty much being ignored upon my arrival, I won't be back and will not be recommending this place. read more

It was delicious. The pancakes were really light and fluffy and perfect. I ordered toast with marscapone, berries and raw honey and it was absolutely delicious. I don't know how this wonderful place could receive any rating less than five stars. Relocated and rebranded (Formerly "Marie's"), this gem sits a couple of doors down from Parker's. It's a little difficult to find as there is no sign leading you there. Clean, industrial lines with a modern take, faux white granite tabletops, and comfy chairs, a counter for patrons desirous of such, and modern, Art Deco decor. The music was a touch loud for my taste, but at least it was tuned to smooth jazz and not modern pablum. They have yet to put decor on the walls and I'm hoping that will help kill some of the reverb. Did I mention the food yet? So very good. I had the Tijuana and my girlfriend had the Gruyère omelette. Both were absolutely scrumptious and presented and plated in such a lovely way that we were loathe to eat it. Glad we did though, because it was simply delicious and I cannot wait to go back and sample every single thing on the menu. Maybe, the "healthy" next time. Maybe the eggs and corned beef hash. I have been dying to see a place like this in Trumbull (here for 20 years) and, as "he who shall not be named" has been holding real estate hostage, thought I never would. Not so long ago I visited this place--but it was called Marie's (I believe to remember). A friend invited me for lunch, when I found out that the name and ownership had changed. The menu is Mexican and I had the Trumbull Burrito with French fries. It wasn't really a burrito, but a wrap. But regardless it was had a good flavor and filled me up alright. My first experience was definitely a pleasant one. I will come back to try out some other items on the menu. The service is friendly and quick, hope they are able to make it work in Trumbull. read more

Have you ever had something so delicious you consciously eat slowly to make the experience last as long as possible? That was the experience for both myself and my daughter at Trumbull C&G. There aren't ​many places that I would happily drive an hour for brunch, but this is one of them. I honestly don't think I've had a breakfast this delicious and beautifully presented, and the fact that it came out of a standard looking diner where I was sitting for counter service made it all the more surprising. So many amazing flavors, fresh fresh ingredients, wonderful smoky salsa... I was honestly blown away. I can't wait to come back. What a hidden gem this place is! It's a cute breakfast and lunch place with an authentic Mexican flair. Sign for the plaza still says Marie's so don't be confused if you are looking for it. Parking in the back. Didn't see the lunch menu but the breakfast menu has lots of options. I posted a pic of the hash browns and you should know they do not serve home fries and these hash browns are homemade. Looks as though shred them using a potato peeler and then grill with onions. Different than what I'm used to but with a little salt and pepper I enjoyed them. Here is a list of the 3 dishes we ordered, all were excellent and we all said we will absolutely be back soon. So happy to have found this place. Pancakes - 4 huge pancakes that I think were some of the best pancakes I've ever had in my life. They were definitely NOT a box mix. If you a pancake fan these are an absolute must try! Huevo Rancheros - she loved these. First time ever trying and there was this delicious sauce on them and the tortillas were HOMEMADE! Breakfast Tacos - 3 HOMEMADE taco shells with scrambled eggs bacon and again that delicious spicy sauce. First time walking into to his restaurant, they have a nice vibe going for them. There's outdoor seating as well. The staff was very friendly and instantly recognized us as new people in the neighborhood. Gotta love that! We hope to become regulars. Menu had a great selection and for a very busy morning we got excellent service. The portions were JUST right. Fruits on the waffles were fresh, they did add a bit of strawberry marmalade in the center. First place that I see serves their berry waffles that way, no problem for me but I know some people prefer syrup only, so just an FYI for you. I do see myself coming back here again. read more
