Love, love, LOVE this place! First of all there's a parking lot- SCORE! Secondly despite it being a dreary early morning I was still able to snag a table so I could sit and work. I tried the seasonal special iced Blueberry Chai- WHOA! Honestly hands down may have been one of the best chai I've ever had! The breakfast sandwich was just a hair too salty but honestly paired with the blueberry chai- perfection. The ambiance is awesome, good music, cute decor. The staff are great and quick to clean up a table to make sure that incoming customers can have a seat if they want. I was in the general area and my Yelp search suggested Black Rock Coffee was one of the better coffee spots around. I ordered my standard drink, a large black iced coffee. It was well above average for a coffee shop, but not top tier. It was smooth, rich. I'm guessing probably a blend that included Guatamalan and/or Costa Rican beans given similar flavors. I almost do not want to write such a glowing review because I want this spot to remain a secret. It might be too late because the restaurant was full on a Friday morning. The cafe itself is nice and roomy enough, with about 10 or so tables for 2-6 people each. I can't overstate how good the breakfast was here. The latte was straight up excellent - very smooth and perfectly caffeinating. We ordered a few different breakfast items including the 203 BEC, with turkey bacon, egg and cheese on a fresh roll. Absolutely delicious, possibly the best BEC I've ever had. I stole a bite of my son's pancake and it was similarly phenomenal, even without any syrup. The pancake itself was sweet and super fluffy. My wife had the Parisian French toast and loved it. You could definitely tell that the chef put a ton of love into everything that was cooked. I would eat here every morning if I could swing it. What a cute little spot! I loved the decor - the green booths, big gold mirrors, rugs and cozy vibe. The staff seemed sweet and welcoming. I had one of their specialty drinks - the White Caramel Macchiato. It was delicious and well done. The coffee flavor was smooth, not bitter at all. The caramel used had good flavoring. This was my second visit. The staff was super friendly, when I ordered my chicken pesto toast and ice latte they said they would deliver it to my table while I waited. The chicken pesto was delicious perfect for a later lunch. At the end I ordered a chocolate chip cake slice to go and the guy brought it over to my table again and gave me to go containers for my left over toast. This a a great little gem in Black Rock. Especially, for those who want halal food but not the typical halal food. I went with my family of 4 (2 small children) for lunch and it was a hit. The food was amazing!! All ingredients fresh and perfectly paired together to create some really delicious and cohesive dishes. We had a varied order of pancakes, a tuna sandwich, the goat cheese avocado toast, and the cali coop chicken sandwich. Each one surpassed our expectations. Sincere kudos to the chef!! I stopped by this place on a Tuesday morning in November. It was pretty empty, but since then I've heard it's become very popular. The coffee was great and we also got a breakfast sandwich and avocado toast. A little pricey but big portions and delicious.
