I'm sure they got themselves into an underage drinking disaster but that shouldn't affect everyone else. Tuesday night my boyfriend and I were going out to celebrate our anniversary. We picked this place…read morebased on the pictures and reviews on Google; the food looked phenomenal. We started with fried mozzarella and lamb lollipops. Both were just OK. While the mozzarella was fine the sauce was very sweet and the mozzarella was not hot (like it sat while they were waiting for the lamb to cook). The lamb was too gamey for me but my boyfriend ate it, definitely frozen not fresh. We ordered several drinks, and when the fourth one arrived there was lipstick on the glass. The server and bartender were very apologetic and remade the drink. Understandable, sometimes these things happen. For an entrée I went with the pesto gnocchi with a chicken cutlet and he got the skirt steak with chimichurri. Except it didn't have chimichurri; he didn't say anything and just ate it. The gnocchi was so overcooked it dissolved when you tried to stick a fork in it or put it in your mouth, the pesto cream sauce was broken as if it had cooked too long. Gnocchi only takes three minutes to cook because it's made with potato... I'm not sure that whoever was cooking knew that. The chicken cutlet looked nothing like the other pictures, I would assume the pictures posted are from the previous owners or different chef. It tasted very sulfur as if the chicken wasn't fresh, I couldn't eat that either. My boyfriend and I go out to dinner 2 to 3 times a week. I never send food back, but disgusting. Our waitress did come back and say they could remake it which i said no, I was so turned off I didn't even want to eat anything else there because I felt sick to my stomach. When it was time to leave our server brought over the digital machine to tap and pay that shows the total. As my boyfriend went to pay I said it sounds like they charged for my dinner (total was $155, my dish was $34 that I didn't touch, I insisted he not pay for it and asked for a waitress. When I asked her if we had been charged she said she had asked her manager if she could take it off and he said no. WHAT?! I told her to send her manager out because I was not paying for something I didn't eat because it wasn't cooked properly. She left and said she would go ask him again, and I hate to say this seemed like something she's had to do before. At no point did we ever see the manager, not over the lipstick on the drink cup, not over the food, not even in passing. Mind you we were the only couple in the restaurant. When she did return she said she got it all taken care of and was able to take it off and honestly I pity that poor server because she was excellent and God knows what she has to go through with her "manager". She doesn't deserve that. My family owned a very successful restaurant for 40 years, there's a saying in the restaurant industry... "The customer is always right". But even if they are wrong how can you even try to charge them for something they did not eat? Was I supposed to force myself to eat it? It's my guess that they figured no one looks at the bill because it's all digital and we were dumb and just gonna pay for it. I don't leave one star reviews very often, but given the circumstances that was generous. Horrible restaurant, horrible management. We left and went down the street to Relish Wine Bar. I had dinner and we both enjoyed drinks and dessert. Thank God that saved our anniversary from being completely horrible.
