The restaurant being open at a normal brunch time was the first big seller for us! We get up early and like to start our day! The food was amazing! So many good choices it was hard to pick what to eat!!! I loved everything we got! The drink was amazing and well made! Very well thought out menu for drinks and food! Our waitress was amazing! She was able to give us all the information about the menu and drinks! They have trained the staff amazingly! I love the welcoming feeling the staff gives you! The restaurant is well designed , the music is not too loud, the flowers at each table is very nice. The restaurant is clean and well fought out in the organizational mapping of it. I will definitely go back for lunch and dinner not just brunch

Do you like brunch? If yes check out old dominion tavern! The food fresh takes on old classics great drink menus, friendly service and at a price that hits the flavor and perception of value. The restaurant has a tavern feel but is modern. I will return!

Came back for brunch again to try some new dishes. We shared the pancakes bites. Sweet light and surprisingly fluffy. I had the avocado toast. Very good. The dressing on the salad added a really nice and bright flavor. My father had the traditional eggs Benedict and he really enjoyed it. Once again very pleased with the food and service. Highly recommend!

I've been into the Olde Dominion Tavern twice now - both times for breakfast. Both times I sat at the bar. The first visit - I tried out the Biscuits with Sausage Gravy with two eggs over easy. The second visit - I went with the Country Breakfast: Two eggs (over easy), bacon, breakfast potatoes (extra crispy), and wheat toast. Both meals were solid and tasty. They have some other interesting sounding breakfast items that I would like to try - including the Duck Hash and the Crab Cake Benedict. Service was good! #OldeDominionTavern

Good food with a Virginia twist in a warm pub atmosphere. Case in point the B.A.L.T. (Bacon, Avocado, Lettuce and Tomato) sandwich which has fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese and a spicy aioli. Definitely not your average BLT. Portion sizes (especially salads) are huge. I was there with a group of ladies and most ended up taking home a good portion of their meals. Everything was delicious and our server, Matt, couldn't have been nicer. Staying on top of drink orders and keeping the waters topped up. They do have a private room for groups and they also have patio seating for warm weather. Plenty of parking and easy access right off the 15. Highly recommend giving them a try!

They got rid of the country music and it is awesome!!!! Dave, Jess, and Big Al all work their tails off and are great bartenders!!!!

We have been at this spot twice for brunch recently, and we had completely different experiences from each visit. On the first visit, it was empty, so we had an amazing service. On the second visit, the service was really slow. It was also really crowded, and it looked like they were understaffed. Our server wasn't familiar with the menu at all. However, food was delicious in both visits with some hiccups (steak had to be refired). The place is quite spacious and we had enough room for ourselves even though the place was busy. I hope they improve on the service but I wouldn't mind visiting again.

I'm not sure where to start. I say this because I didn't get any pictures of the appetizers we ordered but just know they were phenomenal. To start we got the wings, the short rib and the baked Brie & omg was it delicious. Then there was the fried chicken entree and I know what you're thinking that's a lot of chicken but trust it was so worth the calories. They literally give you a WHOLE half of chicken so I just shared that with my husband with a side of truffle Mac and brussel sprouts. To say that we really enjoyed our meal and the service would be an understatement. Our server Hayden killed it!! He was the best and very attentive. Oh and the highlight of the experience for me was the espresso martini. Definitely the best I've EVER had. It was creamy and sweet! We will definitely be back! If you come here make sure you ask for Hayden and get you an espresso martini.

Honestly, I can't say a single bad thing about our first experience here. To start, the cocktails were on point and made quickly - even though it was peak time on a Friday night. The old fashioned, martinis, and other specialty cocktails were awesome. Bonus points for the surplus being in an iced carafe rather than iced and melting in your glass. The half portion of the Caesar was huge, and im slightly obsessed with the lemon butter sauce the scallops came with. There was surprise pasta (or I missed it on the menu, which is possible) and it paired perfectly with the sauce. The truffle mac and the chicken were also delicious, and the service was quick and on point. Definitely looking forward to more regular visits since it's near where I live. Looking forward to trying the menu items I couldn't choose because one can only eat so much in one sitting.

If you are ever in the Haymarket area you NEED to stop by this restaurant. My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch before we head out for our Memorial Day trip and we were incredibly impressed. I got the BALT sandwich with French fries and my husband got the Hot chicken sandwich! Our server Erika was incredibly helpful with what the menu consisted of and was very polite. Also, for those of you who have nut allergies you do not need to worry about this restaurant they are nut friendly We will definitely be stopping back in especially for BRUNCH Reposting: because somehow my older review deleted!

Maybe you should take better care of your current staff, rather than hiring middle aged men that sexually harass your waitresses.

Stereotypical decor and menu, Grains and Grog stood painfully empty on a Saturday afternoon playing music nostalgic to anyone who graduated high school before 2010. I ordered a Manhattan. Hallway through, looking down at the bottom of the glass, I saw two tiny flies floating at the bottom. As disgusted as one can reasonably be, I asked for another one to be made (why I bothered, I can't say. Maybe it was because I had already drank half). I found another small fly in the second before the server left the table. Another fly in the third as well. We didn't finish our meals for obvious reasons. They brought us the check, discounted the manhattans and 50% the check, though I didn't feel I should have paid anything. After paying the check, they said it was a mistake. They brought us the wrong one and would void the sale. The "correct" check they brought us was the full meal sans the 3 botched manhattans. We won't be going back

Omg so many thoughts on this experience…read more I'm so glad i didn't immediately know it was a restaurant located in a hotel. This prob would have deterred me, even a little bit. The Apple map directions here confused me a little due to this, but parking was really plentiful so that's a huge plus! I went on a Sunday morning and lo and behold there was a hole farmers market or pop up set up all through haymarket! Busy weekend for a brunch but haymarket is SUCH a cute little vibe and town with so many hidden gems, like this one!! Literally every single item I saw waiters bring out from the kitchen looked so scrumptious, every person around us immediately began digging in and enjoying their meals...and honestly, no crumbs were left behind pretty much every time. We started ordering a yummy cocktail. I was really in the mood for the Paloma with grapefruit juice but sadly they were out of grapefruit juice fortunately, they had plenty cocktails available that were not explicitly on the menu! I ended up having a delicious espresso martini, prepared, right and honestly, I would have had another!! Not too sweet. Not creamy. And with 3 beans. Impeccable no notes. I ordered the red House breakfast. Man those home potatoes were so delicious....they clearly cooked them seasoned deliciously and then flash fried, so crunchy!!!! Amazing. I found that their execution on their meals was really impressive. My sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly and paired so yummy with the toast. The bacon had delicious flavor too. I ordered a biscuit because I had heard that their biscuits were really yummy but unfortunately they did not have their bacon biscuit so it was just a classic biscuit. It was good, certainly dense and clearly homemade. My girlfriend got the poutine. Looked so delicious and was really enjoyed! The gravy was thick and flavorful! We sat down and enjoyed plenty of conversation and a really nice environment. Nobody rushed us, service was just the right amount of attentive without interrupting conversation constantly, and the floor to ceiling windows let in beautiful natural light and views of the town. It was the perfect brunch spot for a low-key, but delicious meal. Just a hair out of the way without being too far. I came out with a really good friend of mine to celebrate my one year wedding anniversary with her and it was the perfect possible location. Shout out to the staff for being so welcoming and kind, and even taking a picture of us when we asked to commemorate the occasion.
