Most inefficient auto loan process on the planet. you start the loan process online but that only triggers a loan officer that will then reach out by email. Instead of giving you all the requirements up front they will piecemeal information requests maybe every 2 hours for the next 3 days. We have been with the bank since it was US federal. In the past I would go in for a Auto loan and before I signed a piece of paper the money was transferred to my checking account. Maybe you don't do that with new customers but we have been banking with this credit union for close to 20yrs and no missed payment. Do yourself a favor and bank elsewhere. read more

They messed up my home loan by over $100,000. The old lady teller is racist. They close lobby early way too often. Have misplaced 100 dollars during drive through deposit and did not respond to email complaint. No accountability! I arrive with 10 minutes before lobby is supposed to be closed and they would not honor the time. By far the worst management. I'll be taking my money elsewhere! Bank says it's open till 6 but you can not call to find any solution. read more

Absolutely the worst credit Union that I have ever been a member of I joined them in 1992 when I begin working with Minneapolis public schools and in all of my years of being with them I've never been able to get along I've never been able to have them help me do absolutely anything and I'm not sure if it's because I'm a minority but they have been the most difficult and the only reason why my account stayed open is because I had child support going there and even though I get a direct deposit they still closed my account for $5 overdraft!! If I were you I would avoid it all costs especially if you are a melanated person they are horrible!!! read more

We popped in to inquire about a refinance on a recent car loan facilitated by a local dealership. Upon review of our accounts, Alex sent 4 proposals on examples of how we could save money not only on the inquired car loan, but offered refinancing on multiple other debts that would save us thousands on the back end through Truestone. We didn't ask for this Initially. We are now in the process of moving loans and saving thousands in interest by using Truestone because Alex laid out a financial plan. The Maple Grove, MN branch has outstanding employees! Every time I am in there they are friendly, kind, courteous..... their service is above and beyond! From the tellers to the bankers, they all know their stuff and go the extra mile to help you as the customer. I can't say enough positive things about them. Carla, one of their bankers, is absolutely amazing! She has gone above and beyond on multiple occasions for me. I have never had such outstanding service at a bank! What a jerk I had to deal with there (Feroze). Had all my court documents showing I was appointed a Conservator & just wanted to know if the person had any accounts there. No problems with any other bank, but apparently, according to Feroze "there could be many people with accounts with this name". I recently decided to get a HELOC and went with TruStone Financial. During the process, I met Carla. She is the most knowledgeable and helpful banker I have ever worked with. Kind, patient and honest. Rates are good and there are FANTASTIC incentives for moving all of your banking to TruStone - so that's what I did. LOUSY Service. The new merger with Trustone has proved that evolution is not always positive. In this case abysmal. The ONLY phone number provided in written correspondence results in an HOUR MINIMUM HOLD TIME only to be told that someone else will need to phone back as the department does not handle the service requested. Their written correspondence instructs to call for assistance!. The level of efficiency and time management is ridiculous. After almost 40 years and multiple mergers its time to move to an institution that is run in a manner that actually cares about the customer. I've been a member for almost 20 years (back when it was Teacher Federal Credit Union) and I've always had great experiences with them. They have friendly and helpful staff, great rates, and the wide access to a variety of ATM's is very convenient. My first loan through them was for my first ever new vehicle bought from the dealer, and my second (most recent) loan was for my house. It just goes to show that they are there for you and it is a credit union that supports your personal growth. read more

4 day hold on a deposit caused a 25$ bill return fee. 4 days is a ridiculously long time. This is 1 of 4 banks I use and the worst by far.

I switched over to Trustone from Wells Fargo over five years ago and it has been an awesome experience! The tellers are always warm and friendly, the bankers are knowledgeable and affable, and the policies are fair and reasonable. I had a payment due today. This is a new loan, and we never received anything from them. No letter, no payment coupons - NOTHING! So I call today to make a payment by phone, and they want to charge me $5. I said "I don't think so". She goes to speak with a manager and this moron comes back and says "Well, if he knew he had a payment due today, why did he wait so long". Seriously?? I thought credit unions were all about customer service? And their website? Well I went there to try to set up my checking account so I can make automatic payment or such, and there is no way to do it. I have another credit union, and their website DOES allow me to set up external accounts with no fees. I am disappointed in this firm, and will be looking to refinance my loan elsewhere now. This was forced upon me by Wells Fargo (there's' another sad sack of a financial institution). If you want a credit union, DO NOT use TruStone. Terrible customer service, awful systems. I've been a member of Trustone since I was in high school (technically earlier, but that's when I opened my checking account to be able to write checks, not just have a savings account). Back then they were Teacher Federal credit union and they've always been really helpful and have had great attitudes. My only wishes would be to develop an app like we have at the credit union I work at where you can take a picture of the front and back of your check to deposit it (Remote Deposit Capture) since the closest ones to me are at least 40 minutes away. That would be really awesome for me and my mom since she doesn't have the option for direct deposit at her place of work, but other than those things (which I can live with) it's a great business with really friendly and helpful employees. read more
