Don't be surprised when you get to the front door, the entrance in no way prepares you for the wonderful experience you are going to have. I know Oliva is known as a steakhouse, but it did not feel like one to me, and I mean that in a good way. Dinner started with Sfogliatina di Manzo Brasato (puff pastry, braised beef brisket, eggplant, potato sformato, stracciatella, thyme, fig vincotto), Gamberoni all'Aglio e Olio (jumbo shrimp, white wine, garlic, olive oil, Aleppo pepper, toasted bread crumbs) and a special Carpaccio that was out of this world. as there were other folks at the table with us, this is why we got multiple starters. All three of these starters were soooo good! Each starter had a wonderful flavor profile and were very tasty. Everyone tore into the Gamberoni all'Aglio e Olio, but the Carpaccio was my favorite. The Sfogliatina di Manzo Brasato For dinner I got the Cavatelli al Sugo di Coniglio (ricotta cavatelli, slow-roasted rabbit leg, natural roasting jus, soffritto, rosemary, Chianti reduction) with a extra rabbit leg. I did not need that extra leg, but so glad I got it because it made a lovely breakfast the next day. The rabbit just fell off the bone and complemented the pasta really well. I made it a point to remove the rabbit meat from the second leg and saved some pasta for my breakfast meal the next day. The Doctor got a steak and left no meat on the plate, so we can assume it was that good. The person picking up the tab order the Bistecca alla Fiorentina (Tuscan-style porterhouse, sliced for the table) for the table. That was a lovely piece of meat that I would highly recommend ordering. If you can't finish it, take it home for a treat the next day. Multiple sides were ordered and none were left: Patate alla Pugliese (thinly sliced potatoes, extra-virgin olive oil, sea salt), Portobello alla Griglia (marinated portobello, balsamic vinaigrette, scallions) and Zucchine Marinate (baby zucchini, garlic, Aleppo pepper, extra virgin olive oil). I only tried the potatoes and have to say they were very good with the porterhouse slice I had. Based on the empty plates, I would say the table was in agreement that the sides were good. No one had dessert as we were full, so I can't speak on that. But what I can speak on is that there is nothing in Cleveland that will make me come to visit with the exception of that rabbit dish, that will make me come back.

It took awhile to get our cocktails and put our food order in but our meals came out quickly. We had the gazpacho soup and chicken piccata both prepared fresh. Had a wedge salad, very good, my freind had a ceasar salad which she said was also very good. Then we split a cheese pizza, which was okay considering it was gluten free. Definetly nothing special and would never order it again. We each had two cocktails, gin and tonic and a margarita and a special, really can't mess these up so I would say they were good. The overall experience was good but the prices were extremely high, even by todays standards. I Would only recomend if you definetly need gluten free since this place has all/many options. I don't think the price is worth it otherwise, way too expensive.

Well, since I love everything Lola's has done thus far, my wife and I had to try breakfast. It was a drizzling, chilly morning in Chagrin Falls, and I questioned whether we had chosen the wrong day. A bright, sunny morning would have been much more enticing. But we went anyway. I figured if they could impress on a morning like this, how much more wonderful would it be on a beautiful morning. We arrived to the restaurant and found only a handful of people were as adventurous as we. One of the owners greeted us upon entry and directed us to a single young lady behind the bar where we could review the menu and place our order. Then we could choose any table to our liking. Shortly thereafter the bubbly young lady arrived with our cappuccinos and water. A few minutes later my warm, chocolate croissant arrived along with my wife's omelette. As always, the food and beverages were excellent. The service was great. And, by the way, the selection of background music was perfect! Lola's has done it again. I will simply repeat myself and tell you, you must go. I highly, highly recommend.

That's what I pictured anyway in the first bite Dinner at 6:00 no reservations on a Thurs for 2. Would have been a 45 min wait, we were offered 2 seats at the pizza bar. Score! We were looking forward to dinner and a "show". Service is top notch. Friendly, helpful easy going. We went and the summer menu had just started. Which I think is a great thing to visit a place the menu changes. Food. We tried the meatball app. rich beefy flavor without the meatball being a dense brick. A chunky tomato sauce packed with flavor. We both wanted pasta and our server helped us pick. We requested 1 swap tomato sauce instead of pesto. The server had to check with chef. It made me think they almost were not going to honor the request. But they did. Phew We loved the orecchiette and rigatoni pastas. Both with sausage one spicy We also had the house made focaccia bread with olives and herbs and a really amazing dipping Olive oil We finished with 2 mini scoops of strawberry and hazelnut gelato. Setting. This is a tiny place. They packed it with tables and chairs. The result is LOuD. And barely room to squeeze in or walk through. That brings the experience down for both of us. Sitting at the pizza bar we could mostly hear each other. I suspect at the tables (by all the shouting) it was difficult to have a conversation. I would love to go back. Might try lunchtime and pray for less crowd This is food we loved to eat!
