Well, stop I did, to see if they had a gift for a friend's birthday. First, I love any store that smells like balsam as you walk through the door. The scent makes me feel like a kid again. I'm not from Maine (have been here long enough to feel at home), but as a kid we used to drive here from Ohio and spend a few weeks going up and down the coast. The smell of balsam reminds me of these trips. Second, I was shocked by the variety they had. Maple syrup, Maine souvenirs, crafting supplies, wooden figurines, and antiques. The have a sign stating that they "glue chairs". I didn't know that was a thing, but apparently, it is... They also sell wreaths and Christmas trees during the appropriate season. And finally, the owners were as nice as could be. They had out hot chocolate for the kids, and they wrapped my little gift up neatly. This little shop is well worth the drive into town because of how darn cute it is!

And then... nothing happens. No delivery. No call. No email. Nothing. The next day, I had to call and ask whether the flowers had even been delivered, because my mom never texted me to thank me for them. That's when it hit me: she spent the entire day thinking I had forgotten her. Not because I forgot. Because this florist was completely disorganized. It is a bit unusual, and wanted a larger size one, so I wasn't sure if they would be able to get what I wanted. Just 2 weeks later they called and said it was in and ready for pick up. The plants are exactly what I wanted. A few things to note: 1. They don't take plant orders, but they do take requests. I think this is because there is no guarantee they can get it. 2. You have to pay over the phone if you want them to hold on to for you. I couldn't pick it up for about 5 days so I paid over the phone and they held on to it for me. 3. They are a bit pricey, in general, their prices are a bit higher than other nurseries, but the quality is also very high. I'll definitely keep going here for my specialty plant needs.
