Food was great! Went on a Saturday evening and the service was quick, from the drinks to the dinner and they gave my daughter cherries and pineapples! All of the employees were wearing a smile and very friendly. It wasn't too busy so it was a little quiet in the dining area, would have liked some music or something playing. Oh Tsang's how I've missed you!!!! Since the Norton location has closed, I have been missing my egg rolls and crab rangoon like it's nobody's business. We found ourselves closer to this location the other day, so it was a no brainer as to where we would go for dinner. Sammy, the owner, is fantastic. He's friendly and personable and really knows his stuff which transfers over to the kitchen. Tony, our favorite server is attentive to our needs, and made sure my son had pineapples and cherries aplenty. And nobody makes a Mai Thai like Lilly. Some places Chinese food tastes like it has come from a box, not fresh. That's not the case with Tsang's. Everything comes out tasting hot and fresh and made to order. And I have yet to find an egg roll as good as the one here. I'll be having true withdrawal until my next visit. read more

I almost didn't go to pick up the order because being yelled at for asking a question about the food was just entirely off putting, however, I didn't want to screw over a small business like that. It doesn't take any more energy to be kind than it does to be unkind. Even though my food this trip was not great at all, I wouldn't dream of complaining about it and would have probably returned to try other items, but I simply can't fathom returning. We had Tsangs Cafe for the first time on Friday night as take out. We so wanted to love it but it was not very good. We had the Kung Pao chicken which was very good with fresh vegetables & lots of white meat. The pork fried rice was not very tasty. We got the pupu platter that was good but nothing exciting. The worst was the beef chow mein. I'm not sure if they used an unwashed pot or what but the beef tasted fishy. We actually were not able to eat it. My son picked up the order & said they were really nice so we so wanted to love it but it missed the mark read more

I gotta say: Tsang's was on their "A" game last night. Maybe they got a new chef? The Boneless spareribs were meaty, the egg roll was nice and soft (not too crispy), the beef teriyaki was tasty, and the crab rangoons were some of the best I've ever had. The lo mein and pork fried rice were also very good. As you can tell, we are on a diet. I did not try the Egg Foo Yung that my parent's ordered because I never cared for that dish. I'm not sure why it's called a cafe. Do they even serve coffee? Anyway, I've been here several times for take-out and this time was clearly the best. Keep it up! read more

Had dinner here tonight with my family. We ordered an assortment of dishes. Some were really good, some were just good and some not so much. I had the salt & pepper shrimp which was good. The shrimp was just a little fishy. I also had the wonton soup. It wasn't like the wonton soup I get in Texas, but I liked the addition of the bok choy and snow peas. The pieces of pork were generous. It was better with a bit of hot mustard. My son had the General Gau chicken and he really liked it. He had to make himself stop eating before he exploded. My dad had the sweet and sour pork. The pieces of pork were huge, but he thought the flavor was bland. On the other hand, my brother-in-law thought it was good. My sister really enjoyed her orange beef. She raved about it. Before ordering, she asked if they used MSG because she has a bad reaction to it. The waiter said they did NOT use MSG, but she was feeling the effects of it later. We also ordered the Marco Polo and we all thought it was great. I'd go back. read more

Beautiful restaurant with ample parking. We arrived at 11:30 when they opened for lunch. The owner was a little cranky for just starting his day. The lunch menu has lots of choices and the prices are very reasonable. We ordered pork fried dumplings for an appetizer. They arrived after our food, but were delicious. The wonton soup broth was bland but the dumplings were very good. The egg drop soup was very tasty with abundant eggs and mushrooms. For lunch we ordered pork lo mein, Kung pao chicken, Singapore noodles, and boneless spareribs. The meals came with a choice of appetizer, including chicken wings and crab rangoon. Each plate also came with a choice of steamed rice or pork fried rice. The dishes were huge and all were quite good. The only issue is that two meals arrived about 8 minutes before the other two meals. Overall, very good food and good service. We will be back. read more

I would really like to make this a 4 star but cannot. I've been hitting Tsangs since they opened in the adjoining town a million years ago. They hit a nice demographic here on Station Street and have been very successful. Wish the food was like the old days though. Stopped in with my oldest and he's a huge fan of crab rangoon. I've never been a fan but they do an OK job with it. We also had some pan fried dumplings. It's all about the texture of the dumpling and spice on the filling. This fell short. We added sesame chicken and beef lo mein. I didn't eat the chicken but the noodles were just OK. I used to order a spicy beef with noodles that was insanely well crafted. The service is great and love the family. Wish the food could match. read more

Thors of you who live in this area are so fortunate. Once we sat and reminisce of old times we ordered our food and drink.. not that we needed to Tony remembers exactly how we like our food prepared and we were in heaven when it hit the table. This was our first time. Early afternoon not very busy for a Monday. Host & server were superb. Ordered from luncheon menu, variety of appetizers & good choices for meal. My husband and I really like Tsang's. Honestly on the South Shore, there are Chinese restaurants every couple of miles in any direction it seems...but this is the only one we really go to. The food is delicious, and the service is quick and very friendly. Everything we've eaten here has been delicious - they've got a lot of the usual options but there's something less greasy and more interesting about their menu. And the atmosphere is nice too - their dining room is peaceful and you can tell that they definitely care about their diners' experience. Be warned though - the portions are huge. Each appetizer could easily feed 4 people. We always have enough for an entire meal to take home when we're through. Not complaining, as it's a good value, but something you should know before ordering a bunch of appetizers for 2 people! read more

Last night we ordered takeout from Tsang's in Duxbury. The phone was answered promptly, our order was ready for pick up in short time, and that's where the good news ends. The dishes we ordered (an egg foo young and one of the house specialty dishes with pork, beef, shrimp & lo mein) were so greasy. When we opened the containers we weren't even sure they had given us the correct order. The specialty dish with pork beef and shrimp had ham slices in it that were cut in thick squares. Pork was on the menu description of this dish, but not ham. The pork slices were there too, so we were confused by these ham slices. It was a really odd addition to the dish & not at all complimentary to the flavors. The beef in this dish was inedible because it was so fatty and chewy. I believe I mentioned the grease. The egg foo young we ordered had a gravy that had separated and it was beyond disgusting. This dish too had beef in it that was very poor quality, chewy and fatty. An order of egg rolls was included with our order but we didn't order egg rolls and we weren't charged for them. They were actually the best thing we ate from Tsang's last night so... thank you? Did they know the rest of the food was gross and this was our bonus prize? This is our experience with Tsang's on more than one occasion: if we deviate from ordering fried food and appetizers, we end up sorry that we did. Everyone seems to like Tsang's. Has this place changed hands? I'm wondering because, after many years of Tsang's being our number one Chinese restaurant, last night's food was inedible. After closing up our winter home in Florida to return home, it was the first place I wanted takeout from after a day of travel, but we were sorely disappointed. Everything was dry and tasteless. The sesame chicken had no sauce and not a single sesame seed, just dry tasteless chicken. The lo mein noodles were so dry and tasteless that it was like eating plain white spaghetti that had sat around and dried out (and no, we were not late night diners, we picked it up at 5:00 when it should have been nice and fresh). The crab rangoon was disgusting - so soggy, not at all crispy like it's supposed to be. I tried one bite of everything just in case there was at least one thing I could eat and enjoy, but no luck. I threw most of my plate away. There's no way this can be the same place that we've loved for years. Disappointing, but we won't be back. read more

Not good. The woman who takes orders is incredibly rude and impatient. Three out of four orders were sent out incorrect. This isn't the first time this has happened either. The spring rolls still had ice in the middle. It is the third time this has happened to me. They don't clean their mushrooms apparently as they always still have dirt in them. My family has been eating here for as long as we've lived in Duxbury (15 years) and always really liked it. However, my sister and I had an unpleasant experience with our server last night when we came in for dinner. He was rude, mumbled into his notepad, rushed us the entire meal, forgot to bring us tea that we ordered, and then proceeded to apply a 20% gratuity to the bill. Overall he made us feel unwanted in the restaurant and like we were supposed to reward him for this. I don't want to deter people from going here, hence the 4 stars, but I do hope someone from the establishment sees this and takes steps to improve the service. read more
