Well it was a pretty horrible time in Marshfield the night we went to dinner. Two ft of snow had just fallen. It was my birthday so we wanted to dine out. I have been here many times and it is always fantastic . We had the best hot and sour soup one could ask for.. shared an egg roll which was hot and crispy. Our entree was the TRIPLE DELIGHT which is shrimp, chicken and beef with lots of veggies in a brown sauce. So so good! It's served with white rice. Ping and Kong the owners and are hard working, kind people. We've been so many times we have become friends. They surprised me with a FRIED ICE CREAM. Well I want to tell you all it was so unbelievably delicious. Never had it before. I'm not really a dessert gal so I just had a few bites to celebrate my birthday and I was so glad I did. Memorable to say the least! I did not even know they had it! A big thank you to the whole staff that makes some of the best Chinese food around. Don't let the building fool you. The food was tasty, but this restaurant would be best for take out, not dine in. The menus we were given for dine in were literally paper take out menus. I don't even know if they have beverages available. But, the salmon maki and eel/avocado maki I had for lunch was tasty. That lunch special included miso soup as well. read more

The delivery of all their food has proved to be outstanding! I am only giving this a four star review because going to the actual restaurant was a little unusual but not bad. I think this is just more of a takeout place or somewhere you get delivery from. Everything I have eaten has been fresh and wonderful! A great local Chinese and Japanese establishment! We ordered takeout and they delivered for free! Extremely quick service, we had a decent sized order and it was ready in under 20 minutes. Not pictured are the steamed dumplings which were my favorite out of everything we ordered. Wonderful doughy outer that really tasted wonderful. Second would be the pad Thai. A great value at only 8.50, you get a massive container. The sauce to noodle combo was perfect and the rich peanut flavor was outstanding. Those two dishes stood out the most to me. We also ordered crab rangoons, gyoza, Mexican roll, ebi Kanu maki roll, pineapple fried rice, and an egg roll. The only item that disappointed me was the pineapple fried rice which had an inadequate ratio of pineapple, chicken, shrimp, and rice. It was about 90% rice. Everything was so wonderful and tasted amazing. This is a favorite spot in the area and will for sure be coming back again and again. 9.67/10 read more

Our usual spot Sashimi was closed being a Monday so decided to branch out. We rarely find ourselves in Green Harbor so this spot was unbeknownst to us. They have a wide variety on their menu, split into two halves, Chinese and Japanese. Intrigued, we ordered a bit from both. The Hunan chicken was pretty good while the house special fried rice was ok. Also tried the pad Thai which was pretty good too. As for the Japanese side, we ordered a few sashimi items and a few maki roles. The maki selection is not bad, but not nearly as good as the one at Sashimi. We tried some basics and a few of the specialties and it was decent. Overall would give it a 3.5/5. No real ambiance but it was later in the day on Memorial Day and there is a very small seating area, so seems more geared towards take out. Service was pleasant. Would return to try a few of their other unique, authentic Chinese dishes however if I'm looking for sushi specifically, Sashimi is far superior both in variety and freshness. read more

Best Chinese food. Hands down. Not just in local area but anywhere in south shore. So clean and crisp. The chow fun noodles are awesome. The broth for the wonton soup is well seasoned and clean. The dumplings are not overly doughy like ALL other Chinese places. The sushi is FANTASTIC. I ordered a competitors one night cause they were closed and me and my girlfriend ended up throwing it away after trying everything because it didn't even come close to what we were use to. There is no other place I'd rather eat at for good, flavorful and well cooked Chinese food than here. Never had one bad meal. And the owners are so nice and friendly also. read more

This place is good. We have gotten take out twice here this year. We haven't tried all of the other places in town yet so I can't say if it's the best, but it is really good and worth a try. I get the chicken fingers, chicken friend rice, and beef teriyaki and like it a lot. My gf likes their veggie fried rice, but wasn't a fan of their scallion pancakes (too heavy, but she is picky) I feel bad I took as long as I did to get food from here. I think where it is on Careswell St it tends to be out of mind when thinking of options to go. I am glad it is on that street though as there needs to be more options there. I live in Boston and so I'm used to good sushi but at expensive prices. While in Marshfield I got take out from here. I got the spicy salmon and the spicy tuna rolls with avocado in top. Both were HUGE and loaded with tuna and avocado- no filler of cucumber like most places. I also got the miso soup which was delicious and had tons of tofu and seaweed - not just broth like a lot of places. Finally I also had the pork dumplings which were also delicious. What on earth happened to this place?! Just got a pretty basic takeout -- dumplings, ginger chicken and vegg, fried rice. No flavor in any of the dishes, bland, bland, bland. Jarred pink sushi ginger thrown in the chicken dish, old shriveled bits of discolored green beans. The ginger sauce for the dumpling tasted like dishwater, the dumplings themselves were limp and tasteless. Fried rice-- again, no flavor. What an absolute travesty of a meal. Love Mandarin Tokyo!!! I've lived in town all my life and we just started going here about 2 years ago when our old go to place(royal garden in kingston) started to go down hill. Ever since, we've been hooked on MT. Their place is so clean and the owners are very nice. The delivery guy, Craig I think his name was, is really cool and very quick. He loved my Boxers and he has one so of course I liked him for that : ) The food here is really the best Chinese I've had. We don't get the Japanese food but they have a whole menu for it. We stick to the usual suspects which include crab rangoon, beef fried rice, veggie lo mein, chicken fingers, and my parents get the chicken chow mein. All the food is so fresh and has minimal grease. I have been a regular for years. Kong and Ping run a great show. You can get a wide variety of handmade and fresh to order sushi. Their Chinese food is also the best in town. The owners know my family and I by name and we always look forward to going there. The sesame chicken plate and the salt and pepper shrimp are two of my favorites. The ebi kani maki, California, shrimp tempera, and crazy dragon rolls are hands down the best sushi. I have never had a bad meal here. We recommend MT to everyone we know. read more

Have been visiting here for years with my family, dating back to when it was under different ownership years ago. Ordered up some of my traditional favorites and wow was it disappointing. One person in my family said it reminded them of Panda Express (the mall Chinese food), not a flattering comparison. The quality of the beef was pretty bad and nothing else stood out in a good way, though the scallion pancakes were pretty good. Also they were not very friendly on the phone. This small, out of the way place has incredible food. My parents come here so often, they practically don't need to order! The waitress automatically brings my mom extra napkins because she knows she likes to "de-grease" everything before she eats it! I haven't tried their Japanese fare, but the Mandarin side is your typical Chinese food. The pu-pu platter for one comes with more than enough food for two, and everything is really good. The beef teriyaki stick has the most flavor I've ever tasted. The crab rangoon is amazing. The spring rolls are good; although I found the egg rolls less than satisfying. The food is pretty much what you'd expect. The gravy with the beef and broccoli was nice and thick and savory; the lo mein was average. They are really flexible and willing to do whatever it takes to make your meal as good as it can be. For example, we asked them to bake the egg fu young instead of frying it (which they normally do), and they do it without hesitation every time. This place is small, and I've never seen it busy. Despite this, it generally takes a while for the food to come. Whether that's because they don't have many people working, or they have delivery and pick-up orders to take care of too, keep that in mind if you go here. My wife and I think this is the best Chinese food on the South Shore. The atmosphere is friendly and casual, the service attentive, and there's a great vibe because it is so hugely popular with the locals. The food is consistently great; we especially like the House Special Sizzling and the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. The sushi is excellent. They serve some beer but there's no real bar...and that's a Good Thing because the Chinese restaurants with full bars often make their money on the bar, serving mediocre food. Mandarin Tokyo serves great food at a fair price. It can get very busy, but it's worth the wait. The TV shows some pretty bizarre selections if there's no Celtics game. Last time it was all home renovation reality shows. It's safe to say that, while they have a TV, it does not distract from quality conversation ;-) read more
