I discovered Tsaocaa Niles while in search of a neighboring restaurant (Oh K-Dog) inside of Super H-Mart. Tsaocaa Niles just happens to share the same parking lot as Super H-Mart, so its location was hard to miss. From there, it became an instant bookmark for me to visit after I viewed and took a liking to the featured drinks on its menu. Tsaocaa sits along a strip of businesses within Civic Center Plaza amongst several other businesses like Super H-Mart, Home Depot, O'Reilly's, etc. Being that it sits inside of a plaza, the parking lot is shared, and there are plenty of spots available including spots directly outside of the restaurant. I was acknowledged shortly after I walked in and up to the register to look at the menu. For your information, there are also two kiosk machines that sit off to the side near the entrance for ordering as well. I ended up ordering a Mango & Passionfruit Green Tea w. Nata Jelly along with Waffle Fries. Out of the many selections of drinks, it was the ingredients that led me to choosing the Mango & Passionfruit Green Tea w. Nata Jelly. Moreover, I did like some of the drinks featured in the classic fruit tea section of the menu which will likely lead me back to Tsaocaa. Service: 4 (Good) I opted out of dining in the restaurant and choosing to enjoy my order inside of my vehicle. Nothing wrong with the atmosphere of Tsaocaa, I just was not in the mood to dine-in. Moreover, the atmosphere appeared bright and gave off a relaxed vibe. And there is a decent number of tables and seats available inside of the dining area. Atmosphere: 4 (Good) The waffle fries were fresh and tasted crispy! Since it took some time for them to cook, that was the least I expected them to be. I really loved that there were two bamboo skewers given to alleviate touching the waffle fries with my hands. Not that I have any issues with that, but still, I did not have to worry about wiping my hands with napkins after touching greasy waffle fries. I could not wait to taste the Mango & Passionfruit Green Tea w. Nata Jelly which I felt I waited too long to taste. Too long as in I waited until the order of waffle fries were cooked by Tsaocaa, and I waited to take my first sip of it while inside of my vehicle until I ate all of the waffle fries. Yep! After my first sip, I said to myself "This is good!". And with every sip until the last, I enjoyed the chunks of nata jelly inside. It certainly lived up to the wait and I could not help but think to myself a 50% sugar level drink does not taste bad at all. I've been here a few times. First time it was favorable, second time I was not satisfied with the drink (haha my fault! I was unsure initially) and the third time--they didn't give me the opportunity to order. It was a rare occurrence that I only had cash, and the cashier stated to "order at the kiosk" but I responded that I only had cash. She then said they were closing the cash register (time being 9:15, they close at 11pm) I want to give them the benefit of the doubt--they want to close the register early etc. It's unfortunate that I drove 20 minutes to find out they couldn't accept cash. So happy to see more boba places opening up in the northside! Stopped by here after a hmart trip during grand opening week. The inside is decorated really cutely. The staff are still getting use to the flow and customers. The food took a little bit to come out, however, it was really fresh and tasty! Came across Tsaocaa in Niles scrolling through IG and was excited to try them out since I was in the area. Located near Hmart, there is plenty of parking too. Upon walking in, the space is open and clean. To the right there are 2 kiosks to place your order. I ordered from the counter and the girls who took my order were friendly and answered any questions I had. There is a lot of drinks to choose from too! Best past is they have lactose free milk as an option! We ordered two drinks and a snack that was just added to the menu. First drink is the iced lychee tea with milk cap substituted with lychee boba. Second drink is the strawberry purée milk with lychee boba. The cheesy fried bun was a new item and it looked good advertised in the picture. The lychee tea was icy, refreshing, and had a creamy finish. The strawberry milk was so good! Reminded me of strawberry Nesquik that I drank as a kid, but with purée strawberries. The lychee popping boba was yum too. A few minutes later they brought out the cheesy fried buns. At first glance I was skeptical and thought could they have used sliced Kraft cheese? I was expecting Swiss cheese since that's what was pictured. My first bite and I was not impressed. The bun was sweet and super greasy at the bottom that it soaked through making it really heavy, and then add the condensed milk and cheese. The flavor combination was just not working together. The bun reminded me of a sweet Chinese donut dipped in condense milk. If ya scrape the cheese off and dip in condensed milk it's pretty good. But that cheese has to go! The waitress did ask for my opinion since the buns were a new item. I was honest and said it needed work. She was appreciative of my honesty though. They offered BOGO Brown Sugar Milk Tea for their Friday grand opening deal. I ordered the King Oolong Milk Tea and got the Brown Sugar Milk Tea for free. I really like the Chinatown location so I'm excited that this one finally opened in Niles. Their menu coconut drink selection seems different from the one in Chinatown, and I'm here for it! I love coconut. :) I ordered the coconut mango slushee with coconut pudding since it looked delicious on the menu. However, when I received my drink, it didn't look anything like the one on the menu at all. I barely had any small bubbles in my drink. I think my mango was also blended although I preferred to have the mango bits as shown on the menu photo. The drink was a bit disappointing because it didn't have a strong coconut flavor. The pudding wasn't soft and it was difficult to drink with the straw. However, this place seems like it just opened and they're probably still adjusting. I got the mango milk tea at 100% sweetness. Was below average. Sweetness tasted like it was at about a 60% considering how bitter it was. Mango flavor was minimal. And the tapioca was stiff and lacked any type of brown sugar flavor. As far as the mango that came in the drink, it was okay, just would be better if it didn't have the seed rind on each piece. Was excited to try this place as the menu was pretty extensive with milk tea, egg waffles, popcorn chicken, Korean corn dogs and shaved ice. Went with the king of oolong with their amber tapioca. Had a nice subtle tea flavor with hint of milk. Not sure why the tapioca was amber color but was no different from the regular dark tapioca from what I could taste as well as texture was soft. Tried the egg waffles as well which were nice and warm with a pillowy texture and some chew. The interior was a bit eggy, almost like an egg tart which I was not expecting. Ordered the fried milk buns as well. The picture and the description says "drizzled with sweet icing" yet what I received was the buns covered in powdered sugar. I took it back to the counter asking if it was supposed to be powdered sugar vs icing and the response was it's always been powdered sugar. It reminded me of the fried Chinese donuts that are served at Chinese buffets but with powdered sugar. Overall the taste and flavors are great but the consistency is a little lacking. For example, the milk swirl (strawberry) usually has regular boba but then randomly switches to Crystal.
