UPDATE: I changed this review from 3 stars to 4 stars... I had contacted the Tso's comments page and relayed the issues. I promptly received an email acknowledging the issues, with promise to communicate that forward. I also received a credit. The timeliness of the response made it clear to me that there is an eye to quality control and that there's earnestness in making things better. I'll raise my "C-" to a "B-" and will give them another chance. ------------- Delivery: It took 1hr 25min for an order of soup, spring rolls, and lettuce wraps to be delivered... on a Monday... after lunch rush... when the restaurant location is less than 2 miles away. Online order: 1:03p; food in hand: 2:27p. That was a bummer. It's normally 30-40 minutes. Food: The small container of the dipping sauce (packed in the spring roll container) had a warped, melted lid... it was packed at the top of my complete order bag, and I suspect that it sat under a heat lamp for about 40 minutes. The spring rolls were soft and pithy and soaked in in the sauce. Kinda yucky. No crunch left. Food: I ordered chicken lettuce wraps. That came in a bi-partition container; lettuce on one side and chicken on the other. The lettuce was totally limp. The lettuce was dark green and looked like it was the nasty stuff you might peel off of a head of lettuce that sat too long in your refrigerator drawer. I'm sure it started out fresh when the meal was packed, but putting it in a container with hot food, and then next to a container of soup, and then letting it all sit under a heat lamp for 40 minutes did it no good. I did contact Tso's online and suggested that they pack lettuce separately for their lettuce wraps. Was craving some Chinese take out during my lunch break and there was a TSO Chinese Takeout & Delivery close to my office. I was excited to see a collab between TSO and Black's BBQ, so I ordered the Black's BBQ Brisket Fried Rice. I was able to place my order in the app and my order was packed and ready to go during the pickup window time frame. The Black's BBQ Brisket Fried Rice contained long grain rice with vital farm's egg, peas and carrots, onions wok tossed with umami sauce (including mushroom soy and fish sauce) and Black's chopped brisket (lean and fatty mix). The Black BBQ sauce on the side was a nice touch. I enjoyed this fried rice dish very much and it exceeded my expectations. They also packed utensils and soy sauce. We were having an incredibly exorbitant day of eating and figured why not end it with some Chinese takeout? We noticed this place is opening up soon really close to our house so we decided to see if it will be our new local favorite by trying their congress location. We were incredibly pleased with the quality and quantity of the food! Portions are GIGANTIC so know this going into your order - a portion can easily serve 2-3 adults (depending on hunger level and appetite). Note: This is the only Tso I've been to. I've bought from here several times and have never had a bad meal, I've only ever picked it up myself. The interior space is consistently super clean, the staff is friendly and my food has neither been late nor cold. I can't really ask for much else. The tofu is always well cooked, I have been told that the chicken is good and so is the shrimp. I believe both meat orders were of the General Tso's kind. The veggie dumplings are so good and great for sharing. I am curious about their other vegetarian appetizers so I might order the cups next time. It's a really convenient location with a lot of parking so it's easy to get in and out of there in a hurry. I wouldn't go out of my way for this place, but it's still quality take out. read more

However, when my mom brought over dinner this week, I was very disappointed. The veggie potstickers were in fact chicken. And in my tofu drunken noodles, I found multiple pieces of meat. What a waste of money and my trust in this establishment is gone. The prices of all of the items are insanely reasonable here...especially when considering the quality, there is no tipping and the generous portions they provide you. It boggles my mind that other diners complain about the price. I love how easy their app is to use, and the ability to customize my food. I always do carry-out. I I walk in the door and someone with a smiling face is immediately handing me my steaming hot food with no wait. Fantastic selection of vegetarian food; this is my go-to place whenever I want vibrant veggies heaped on my plate. The chefs have perfected the tofu, which has a great texture and flavor. Best in town. The climax is always the vegetables. The eggplant, broccoli, green pepper, red pepper, onion, and carrot are expertly cooked, not overdone at all with just the right amount of crunch. My only tiny wish would be that they worked on the sauces a bit, as my Kung Pao tofu tasted a bit like my Tofu with Broccoli; next time, i will not order the "extra spicy" in the dishes, as the heat overwhelmed the other yummy spices and made all my dishes taste the same. In the southern parts of Austin, authentic Asian restaurants are hard to come by. I never considered T'so as an option, since they do not offer dining in. However, I have heard about the positive impact T'so had on the community during the peak of covid. T'so offered free meals to the un/underemployed community, equivocating to over 22,000 portions. I love that social activism and community impact are top priorities for the T'so team, despite running a successful business! After trying them out, I can say, not only is T'so good to the community, but their culinary prowess exceeded my expectations. We tried the Egg Drop Soup, the Char Siu BBQ Pork Fried Rice, and one of Tso's newest creations, the Drunken Beef Noodle. The entree dishes were outstanding!! It's been rare to 1) find Char Siu without having to run to authentic Chinese restaurants that can cook the Char Siu perfectly and 2) discover a Thai restaurant that serves exceptional Drunken Beef Noodles that serve the proper wide rice noodles with the perfect flavor-- until now. I'm eager to sample everything else on their menu soon. Every bite reminded me of authentic Asian flavors, all without the use of MSG. My wife had a really great experience from ordering from here via Lunchdrop, so we decided to hit this place up on Saturday. I ordered a smattering of veggie options to try a few things out. They were the veggie spring rolls, veggie potstickers, Salt & Pepper Tofu & Drunken Tofu Noodles. Those potstickers did not make home, they were so good. They were hot, fresh, and super crispy and dunked in that soy/garlic sauce, we crushed them as car snacks. The spring rolls were too hot to be eaten in the car but when we got home they were also devoured. Super crunchy and tasty. Multiple times they've incorrectly made my wife's order (who is vegan) making her dish with beef instead of tofu. I understand that mistakes happen. Only this time, when I contacted support, their response was "we are too busy to remake it". What? In what world is that an acceptable response to incorrectly making an order?
