I was so excited to finally try this restaurant after hearing so many great things, especially about their vegetarian options. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I ordered the salt and pepper tofu, and it was honestly one of the worst tofu dishes I've had. The texture was extremely hard, and the flavor was unpleasant. I tried adding sweet-and-sour sauce and coconut aminos to improve it, but nothing helped. In the end, I had to throw it away, which was especially frustrating because I hate wasting food. I also ordered a soup, though I haven't had a chance to try it yet. I'm hoping it will be much better than the tofu. I was in the mood for some take out Chinese food and saw Tao Chinese Takeout & Delivery had opened up close by. I used the app to place my order for pick up. I got the beef with broccoli and added the egg rolls and egg drop soup to my order. The completion time for the order was a one hour window, but my order was ready when I got there in about 15 minutes. I took the food to go to eat at home. The beef with broccoli unfortunately was not prepared to a quality standard that I was expecting. The beef was overcooked and had more of a beef jerky texture and was hard to chew. The entree was drowning in sauce which made it overall too salty. It was served with a side of rice and even eating with the rice did not absorb the saltiness of the dish. The egg drop soup was way too watery and lacked flavor. I did enjoy the two miniature egg rolls that were crispy and flavorful and served with a package of duck sauce. Overall all the other items that I tried just missed the mark. I contacted the company and provided feedback about my experience and the issues I had with my order. To their credit, they did not provide me with a refund but did credit my account for the amount of my purchase which means I will be giving them another chance with another order. I had very high hopes for this establishment, but my experience was a bit of a letdown. read more

She was here when your staff member, put it in the warmer box and she tried to ask about it, but your crew member did not hear because he had earplugs in, why are you allowing earplugs for your crew. This is irresponsible and dangerous! Oooh P.S. When you work on a walk, a single fried rice, pad thai, beef and broccoli. Etc each plate only takes five minutes or less. So why do you have people? On not one, but multiple reviews stating that they wait for well over an hour or so. I've never. I worked at or gone to an Asian restaurant. Was such bad service in my life. We moved to South Austin from East Austin a few years ago and were sad that we couldn't get Tso Chinese delivered to our home. Instead, we ventured on a little road trip to pick up from the Oltorf location. Fast-forward to today, we were thrilled to place our first delivery order from their new location. The food was delicious and delivery was smooth. The crab rangoons are always a must and we love making our entrée a combo meal to add on a soup and spring rolls. We ordered the orange chicken for our first time and while it was tasty, we won't order it again as it's a bit too sweet. We love getting the general tso chicken and flat noodles. Some people had been waiting close to 3 hours!!! One guy that had been waiting for 2 hours just gave up and left without his food. When we asked for an update on our order after being there for 1 hour, they said they hadn't even printed off the paper that showed our order -- which meant they hadn't started on it at all. They had 5 employees working in the back, not sure if they were short staffed or they are just taking too many orders at one time. We will not be back because of the wait. The sesame chicken we got was horrible. It was rock hard and honestly not edible. I was extremely disappointed I waited so long for it. Whoever created the dishes I ordered last night from Tso has never eaten the originals. Singapore noodles are supposed to be a bright strew of texture, flavor, and color -- small dices of scallion, green and red peppers, meat and tiny shrimps, and fried egg, tossed with thin rice noodles coated with aromatic golden curry. What I got instead (vegetarian) was huge wedges of fried tofu and strips of peppers, on noodles with, not a sauce, but a dark brown powder that tasted like cloves and smelled like dirt. The filling in the lettuce cups was liquidy and its flavors were indistinct. Even the fortune cookies were off, odd tasting and with a dark three-color scheme dominated by a brownish gray that at first glance looked like mold. Only the hot and sour soup was worth a second serving, but its flavor too was off and it wasn't very sour. Except for the soup, this meal went into the trash. read more
