We ate here to celebrate a birthday and it was such a good time. We ordered a lot of cold appetizers such as salads, cold cuts, a soup and wings to start. They brought out bread that was warm and looked pretty tasty. I ordered a shrimp kebab with rice and salad. Everything was so delicious, including their fruit punch. The shrimp had some sort of extra seasoning on it. Portions were good as well. For desert I had vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso (off-menu). The ice cream had a little ice in it but otherwise was alright. They even came out with a birthday sign and a bunch of flashing stuff. Our waiter didn't quite know what a gluten allergy was but he was very accommodating and checked in to make sure I could eat certain things. All of the staff were lovely and the decor is really cute as well. The fish tank video behind the stage is kind of funny too. My one and only thing that as unappealing was the strong smell of urine in the women's bathroom despite the bathroom looking very clean so it could be that it just seeped into the wood flooring (not the best choice of material). I definitely would love to come back here

Egor server was great . Nice food as always . Kompot yes non alcoholic drink ... As always great environment. Excellent day time for lunch or late dinner spot .

    Kutabi with Greens and Herbs

Pleasantly surprised. Came here for lunch on a Saturday; honestly, had no expectations. 5 stars all around - lovely decor, attentive service, yummy food. Tried: - Calf liver appetizer - Warm brussel sprouts salad with grilled cheese - A vegetarian kutabi - Khinkali (Note: price is per piece, but minimum order is 5) - Napoleon cake Stuck to warm appetizers and enjoyed every bite. Recommend! Would be curious to return for dinner and try their main dishes.

We come here every now and then. We had bad experience ones a while ago, after that only positive experience. The service was good and fast, the food was also good . Nice portion size, fresh salads and tasty kebab .

Time for another review... Well... This review I was about to post on November 2020... it didn't go true... Where should I start.... K, so The Food Is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS 5+. THE HOOKAH... Litarly the best I have ever had... highly recomend!!!... But the BAD SERVICE OVER TAKEN IT ALL!.. From the second we sit, we had a feeling the waiters Avoid us at all cost, the hookah took almost 20 min to come out but that was freaking amazing... Not even once any waiter came to out table to check on us. No eye contact, nothing he coming to survive 1 table and ( like a hours with no visibility on the peripheral vision At all ) we felt like we back in school raising hand so many he someone will be kind enough to see us !

Mediterranean lamb kebab platter Mojitos Sex on the beach

Food was good. Nice huge giant plate. The mojitos. Omg omg loveeeeedddd it so so much. Its tasted wonderful with I got two. lol. The service was ok. I say that because I don't think the waiter and waitress knew English but they didn't really say or do much. The restaurant had a nice decoration to it. Felt nice to dine in.

    Pancakes :)

I truly enjoyed their food but their new cook doesn't know how to cook. And this place is not cheap at all!! That's the pancakes they sent me!! It's unacceptable!! That person should be fired. The chicken is very dry and burnt too. The burger they delivered to me yesterday was burnt and ve eh salty as well. But I gave them another chance for some reason. I am very disappointed.

Shout out to the waiter who accommodated me, by making A breakfast entrée at dinner time, but that is a very small fraction of what a restaurant dining experience should be. Went here with my girl, for our monthly dinner meet up. Our entrees were visually on-point (albeit her stomach started rumbling after the end of her dinner. By the evening she was incapacitated and I wasn't much better the next day) My issue lies with the fact that the kitchen would not take back a barely touched wrongly made hummus.( Hummus by the way requires tahini!) However- the travesty which earns them two stars was tacking on a bread fee of 3.00(?) plus a gratuity charge for 2 diners. We weren't asked if we needed any food accommodations, accompaniment, ketchup for my fries was never offered, and the waitstaff- other than giving us our meals-was completely absent. My goodness- The restaurant industry really has gone down because people don't know what the term service and experience mean. Too bad we won't return for the level of pettiness-eggs were legit. ----------- Update- importance of being a smart diner is knowing what to order in a particular establishment. My friend ordered meat- i'm sure they have improperly stored food

The food is excellent! Decor and service very lovely. We tried meat kutaby, dyushbara, house special salad "tsob-tsobe", grilled eggplants, different kind of kebobs. Everything was very tasty. Highly recommended!

Mini samsa. Delicious! A lot of meat inside !!!
    Nataliya K.

We went here looking at the yelp reviews and we were very curious about the place! Their salads are fresh, chicken and veal shish kebabs were juicy!!!The mini samsa were full of meat covered with thin dough! The only reason for 4 stars out waiter didn't stop by even once to check on us.But he was busy with 3 other banquet tables. Our curiosity was satisfied! And they can compete with any other places especially the one across the street

this is a frozen baby pizza with wet truffles from a jar! Manager/owners is so rude!

My husband LOVED the burek, but then they totally changed it and now it's just gone. The food is still delicious, but unpredictable of what we can / will order. The new space is beautiful and open and airy, but sadly the service has dipped. This place used to be almost too fast, we were in and out and we consistently knew we could come here and get out in a very timely manner. But now I literally had to flag down our waitress and I still didn't get her attention, another waitress came over to help us get our check. We also didn't get checked on at all, luckily our food was good and right. The table next to us didn't get greeted for water or anything so they had to flag down the guy delivering food to get a waitress. I thinkkk it may be because the wait staff is servicing here and the location next store but it's really impacted the experience. Totally understand that a lot of places are understaffed, but we've never experienced this before Miriam we love you, but pleaseeeeee stop changing the menu.

It's super cozy inside, and they also give you pillows to sit on. Our server was really friendly and gave us great recommendations. We ordered a few different things to share for our party of two: - Bacon wrapped dates (5/5) so good!!! - Short ribs (5/5) I actually don't usually eat beef but these were so good and not dry. The orzo on the side also balanced it out well. - Kale salad (5/5) This seemed like a simple salad but it was so yummy and dressed well. The pine nuts tasted good with this too! - Vegan fruit sundae (2/5) Sadly this was the only thing that missed the mark. I didn't like the raisins and the almonds didn't really work well with everything but that was just me. The sorbet was also pretty sour. The best thing about this was the white cream on top (it tasted like real cream)

From the sea, we got the Octopus and Sword Fish belly. Both were really tender. Would highly recommend both. For the large format, we got the lamb and the trout. Both were once again cooked perfectly. It was a nice end to the meal. For desserts, we got the doughnut, chocolate cake, and a smoke vanilla ice cream. Theodora needs no introduction and the race to a reservation is proof. I was able to snag a reservation a month before I wanted to visit and opted for the chef's counter as many have recommended. I enjoyed sitting there and watching the controlled chaos in front of us. We were seated right in front of the Josper Mangal and Josper Oven which they use in many of their dishes. It offers the ability to preserve moisture while adding aromatics from the smoke. The Iara Cocktail was beautiful, light in flavor, and refreshing. If you're the type to sip on a cocktail throughout dinner, this is a good one! The Hildegard Cocktail was unified yet you can still taste the ingredients; I particularly enjoyed the Verbana ginger foam. So good! The Hiramasa Crudo was art in food form. A must get from the fresh fish to the citrus flavors to the garnishes. The Whipped Ricotta Sourdough was basically a dessert in the best way. The Sourdough was some of the best I've had and the whipped ricotta was fluffy, rich, and went crazy with the brown butter & honey. The Prawns were unbelievably delicious; I genuinely could've eaten 10 of them. It was smoky with a charred exterior and a clean, tender interior. The Pineapple Pico de Gallo was bright and tropical. The Whole Butterflied Trout was fantastic. The trout was buttery, moist, and so light. I can't decide if I liked the Harissa or Chermoula more. The skin got beautifully crisp from the Josper Mangal while retaining the tenderness on the inside. I wish we ended the meal there because this is where we lose the half star. The Octopus wasn't hot in temperature when we received it and it didn't have that smoky/char flavor like with the Prawns. There was also some flavor that was a bit off-putting I couldn't quite recognize. The Doughnuts were also pretty basic. They're essentially 4 doughnut holes at ~$4 each - an easy skip, in my opinion. All in all, Theodora is doing something special and is already booked & busy. If you snag a reservation, definitely go and thank me later!

When you…read morewalk in, you are immediately greeted by a giant oven baking fresh pita as well as an open kitchen. There is also an outdoor dining area, as well as a mid-sized dining room and we were seated near the window. Sawa serves Lebanese cuisine with some more modern dishes. Additionally, they have a mostly Lebanese wine list, which gave us an opportunity to try some new wines. We ordered both a red and a white for the table, and I was especially drawn to the red, as the red was served chilled, light-bodied, and very enjoyable. Nearly all of the reds and whites on the menu are from Lebanon, with just one red from Morocco, plus a couple sparkling options from Lebanon as well. We started with several dips for the table: hummus, baba ghannouj, and muhammara. The hummus was incredibly smooth, and the muhammara was especially flavorful with large pieces of walnut throughout. Everyone at the table receives fresh pita, and we ended up ordering a few more to share. We also shared the Brussels sprouts and the snap peas. The Brussels sprouts were rich and flavorful, but the snap peas really stood out. They were unlike anything I have tasted before, intensely mint, served with garlic mint labneh, and very delicious. For mains, we focused on lamb: two orders of the lamb ribs, two orders of the kafta, and two orders of the sfeeha. We probably over-ordered by about one entrée, but otherwise it was the right amount of food for six people. The lamb ribs were phenomenal, fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. The lamb pies were also very good and came with a delicious dipping sauce. The kafta was good, though not quite as memorable as the other lamb dishes, but still very satisfying. Service was attentive throughout the meal, and despite the number of dishes on the table, the staff handled everything smoothly. The table got a little crowded at times, but it was manageable. I would absolutely recommend Sawa, especially for anyone who enjoys trying something a little different. They do classic Lebanese dishes very well, while also offering some creative dishes that feel unique and memorable. I am already looking forward to going back.

It was a bit warm at our table, and the friendly staff moved us to a cooler area. To drink, I ordered the Wolf's Fang for $18, a blend of rums, falernum, arak, passionfruit, orange, and oat milk. As described, it was their take on a milk punch, and wasn't too sweet with a bright hint of citrus. I would recommend it. The hummus was good, being thick with a strong tahini flavor, though I have preferred others. Outside of the hummus, the daily salatim included a mix of mostly pickled items. First, there was some pickled cauliflower and carrots with a bit of turmeric. The second salatim was a more unique and spicier pineapple slaw, which was refreshing, and had some herbal flavor from parsley or something similar. The third was a cabbage slaw, which was alright, as I found it a bit too lightly seasoned. The last was a mix of cucumbers, olives, and other pickles, which was standard and tasty. Alongside all of this, the pita was warm and fresh, and the staff refilled everything when we asked. For the main course, I chose the Steak Shashlik, which they spell as shishlik, for $46, which came with tahini and some pickled onions. The steak was tender and well seasoned, and the tahini added a distinctive nuttiness. I especially enjoyed making a mini sandwich with the steak, tahini, pineapple pickle, and pita. Others at the table ordered the Spicy Lamb Kofta and other shashlik options, including Chicken and Trout. In terms of sides, someone got the $15 Fries with tahina ketchup, which they enjoyed. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meal, with no one ordering dessert as a few walked over to the tasty Bertoni Gelato nearby. This place is a tad expensive, but I wouldn't mind going back. Even as a fan of pickles, I wish the salatim were a bit more varied, such as including an eggplant or bean-based mezze. I presume the dinner version is a bit more varied, as there are many more salatim, but they should put a bit more effort into the lunch one as well.
