There wasn't a lineup when I got here at 8pm, but then a line started forming out the door right after me. I ordered a Tsujiri sundae which consists of matcha soft serve, red bean, mochi ball, toasted rice puffs and a chestnut ball. The toasted rice puffs made the dessert great. Without the puffs I would say it was okay. The matcha was pretty strong and it's just the way i liked it. I would come back to try the other varieties but I would stick with the matcha. read more

Tsujiri has one of the BEST matcha sundaes ever! I got the Chiffon Cake sundae. It tasted so good and it is aesthetic and Instagram worthy. There is a nice and distinct matcha flavour and you can really taste it. It pairs so well with the cornflakes because of the contrasting textures. I will say that the ice cream melts pretty quick so eat it fast. This place is a definite go if you have the money cause this place is hella expensive. $8 for a sundae is quite steep. This in my opinion is a treat yourself to whatever kind of place. I would definitely come back but not very often. I seem to get lucky all the time cause I'm always at food places when they aren't busy. I've read many reviews online about how the line takes forever but I only spent about 15 minutes max. The service here was nice but nothing too special. The store is narrow and long like many other shops in downtown so it's always squishy. Surprisingly no line when we went on a Thursday night. The menu was a bit tricky to navigate especially with the soft serve pricing/size. Matcha comes in the larger size and I was surprised when it rang up to $6.50. That seemed a bit overpriced since Tetsu matcha cafe has soft serve (which I liked better) and it couldn't have been more that $5 for the cone. This is a tiny place with a unique product (for Toronto anyway). The line is normally HUGE which is why we had to stop by when we saw just three people at 11 am on a Saturday morning . We got the saved ice green tea and a green tea soft serve. Kudos for using proper delicious waffle cones. The soft serve was creamy with plenty of great tea flavour. but the saved ice green tea was a bit watery for me. Service was very quick and friendly. ive been wanting to go to this place for so long since im such a fan of green tea desserts. i finally went and i was blown away. the first bite of the matcha ice cream i was in heaven. so smooth creamy and green tea flavoured. so good. the only thing i didnt really like was the (i think its daifuku?) chewy clear balls. after u chew them for a while it starts to taste like nothing. maybe mochi would be better to put on it. other than that, i need to go back to try everything else read more

The seating is very limited, there is only two 2-seaters and a table that can probably site like 4-6 at the back. We went around 6pm on a weekday so there were no that many pastries left (we wanted macarons) so I assume you would have to come early for those. I went and it was a relatively short line today (around 10 mins, maybe 'cause it was chilly today), which is not typically the case I hear. I got the chiffon cake sundae swirl (match/vanilla ice cream) and the tsujiri sundae. It's pretty and great for pictures but tastes is mediocre personally. It was ~$7.50 per sundae before tax, which I pretty pricy for ice cream, plus the line. I thought the cookie and rice ball on the tsujiri were bland. But the matcha flavour was strong thus pretty bitter, so if it's not your thing the vanilla mix makes it sweeter. They only take cash, which is an inconvenience to me because I normally don't carry cash, so take note if you come. Seating is limited (3 tables of two, 1 for four), but it doesn't feel overly cramped if you do get a seat though. The line doesn't lead into the seating area which is nice. I'd probably not come again because of the price, but cool place to check out of you like matcha and want to splurge a little. read more

When it first opened, it's packed (like Uncle Tetsu). Now, the lines are more manageable, and they accept credit now! I've tried the Tsujiri shaved ice (yum! very good for the summer as it has everything). O-matcha latte (the taste is very good here, matcha taste is strong). Also tried something else that I can't remember the name, it's like the shaved ice without the rice balls and red beans. Also very good. I've tried their matcha rolls - definitely get this, it's very soft the the matcha cream oozes out of the rolls, this would be my go-to place to get rolls. read more

As someone obsessed with all things matcha, I had to try out Tsujiri's Toronto location. Situated amongst some other Japanese food places on Dundas, it can be quite easy to miss if biking by (as I was), as it is super tiny and rather unassuming. I went here specifically for the matcha softserve and thought the flavour and texture were perfect. Having tried matcha softserve at other places in Toronto and in South Korea, I enjoyed this version best, particularly because the matcha flavour really came through. I realize matcha can be found to be bitter, but I personally tend to enjoy it when it's a bit more concentrated and less subtle, which was the case at Tsujiri. What's also nice about this softserve is that it is not cloyingly sweet like so many North American desserts can be. I can't speak to the other treats on hand here, but I definitely recommend the softserve and at some point, I'll probably try some of the other desserts and lattes. The price point is fair for portion, quality, etc. Matcha ain't cheap to begin with, right? read more

The items here sold out quick! The line is no where near as bad as the neighboring Uncle Tetsu but there is still some wait time. The icecream is also somewhat pricey but the quality is really good. The place is small inside but it is mostly catered towards for people to order to go. Overall, it is a nice addition to the Dundas Yonge area for dessert and icecream lovers. read more
