Just had my first dining experience here for a late lunch and it was superb!! I came in a group of 5. We all had soups (miso, house, and wonton--all fabulous) and sushi rolls. I had the firecracker, which hit on all the flavor and texture notes I was craving...spicy, umami, a little sweet, and crunchy. I also got their spicy tuna roll and it's exactly how I like them, small bite size pieces that are more tall than wide. I was definitely surprised by how much Thai food was on the menu, which made me wonder if they just re-branded the previous Thai place to be more sushi-oriented, but turns out, it's a completely different restaurant. Learned from the owners Tia and Odi, a super sweet couple, that they recently bought the business from a friend and opened it in Narragansett. Odi is also Lao, so bonus points for having some roots in southeast Asian cuisine, plus having another fellow Laotian in Narragansett!! My only con is they open at 1pm on weekdays. I'm not sure if this will change down the road as I'd love to come by for an earlier lunch, but I'll definitely be back to try some non-sushi items!! Excited to see their menu grow!! read more

This tiny spot has new owners but as locals, we have seen many incarnations of this restaurant space. It's def intimate in the dining room (but hi tops in bar area seem quieter) and you will hear your neighbors at the table next to you. So be aware. If they are loud, it can be noisy. But it's mostly fine, as everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. ((If you have hearing impairment/devices might not be the spot for you...due to the proximity of tables, lively nature of acoustics and the loud music overhead.)) BUT the food is great. I've been twice and no complaints on food. Sushi seems fresh, portions are ample, and chef is making it in full view of the whole restaurant. Kinda cool. At two visits my martini was very watery, like they left it in the shaker too long. Need to fix that. It was like a watertini. Try the nama crisps! Could be a meal for 2. Excellent. We made reservations for 6:45pm, arrived at 6:37pm and was told our reservation was given away. We are regulars and this should not happen. They said they left a message. I believe it should have been held at least until the time it was for. We were told there would be a 40 minute wait so we went to Kabuki and got right in! Never again. Where was the manager? I'm so glad I read all the reviews and decided to visit this little restaurant. First of all, the people who work there are so nice! They're happy to make recommendations and they're usually spot on. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, and I'm happy to recommend the Firecrackah (yeah, I spelled that correctly), the crab Rangoon, and the hibachi steak. Very tasty, very large portions. Starting with the service over a series of visits, Tia made our book club dinner for The Women a huge success. Partly set in Vietnam we honored the nurses' time there with pho. Tia helped me with the ordering, packaged, labeled and explained every step. Everything was delicious. Many book club members, even though we all live minutes away, had no idea that this food was available. Nama crisps are amazing - kind of like Asian Nachos. The flavors were sooo good! Even the friends that "don't like that kind of food" loved it! Everything I had from drinks to all the food was so good! All of my friends loved it too!!! Blueberry lemonade was a favorite. The bartender is also great, she even made the most amazing shots with fresh squeezed fruits!!! Very reasonable pricing too. I Highly recommend it. read more

We had a reservation for Saturday at 5:30. When we arrived there was only one table with 4 people occupied. During the course of our meal there one other couple sat for dinner, that's it a total or 8 people between 5:30 and 7:30 on a Saturday night! I figured there must be a reason. I tend to judge a restaurant by four criteria; 1. Quality of Food 2. Level of service 3. Cost 4. Ambiance First the quality of the food. It was very good but with a few small issues. My wife ordered Pho and I have several rolls and sushi. The Pho listed on the menu was supposed to have beef and meatballs as well as the normal condiments. There were no meatballs. We asked and were told they stopped using meatballs last winter but never updated the menu. I guess it sucks to be us. The sushi was very good but the portions were very small. The sushi on the menu was $6 or $8 for two pieces which is reasonable. I asked if they had Uni or scallops and they said they did have scallops which I ordered two portions. When I received the scallop sushi I received 1 scallop cut into 4 very thin pieces! Second, the level of service. We were seated promptly after arriving. We waited 10 minutes and no one came to serve us (remember there was only 1 other table occupied) so I went to the hostess and she got our waiter. He took our drink order and disappeared. After 10 minutes I had to chase him down again. This pattern repeated itself for the whole meal and we were the only table assigned to him. I wanted to leave but my wife insisted we stay. This waiter was the worst I have had in years. Third, the Cost. I previously mentioned that I ordered two portions of scallops. I expect them to cost $6 to $8 like all the other sushi. When I got the bill I was charged $24! I asked them why and they said because it was a special. $24 for 1 scallop is absolutely highway robbery. We ended up spending $140 for 2 people with 1 drink and 1 sake. Roughly the same order at Kabuki would be $80 and you would have a better menu, better drinks, and better service. Finally, the Ambiance. This place is very small. There are about 6 tables and a few Hi tops near what passes for a bar (about 6 feet wide). The other table which was occupied had 4 people celebrating a birthday. They were so loud that when combined with a small room and low ceilings made for a very uncomfortable meal. We gave this a try and really wanted it to succeed but it really crashed and burned. We will not return. read more

Let me start off by saying that 5 stars isn't even enough for this place. The pho was PHOnomenal, the sushi was so fresh, the crab rangoon was amazing, the staff is so nice, and the atmosphere was such a nice vibe. Definitely will be back. read more
